thesilversupporter it wasn't the way he said it that made Ricky laugh, Steve has a eye reflex that for some reason his eyes lids open up more than most which makes Ricky laugh
@@storiesofintrigue1605 I don't believe so. In the final edit it's a montage of Steve and Maggie getting along during dinner before it cuts to them on the couch and Steve trying to cover up the mess he made in the toilet. I think they ad libbed in the kitchen to provide the B-roll footage for the montage, and is why it caught Maggie off guard when Steve slipped a joke in. In my opinion :)

I think the moment Ricky jumped the shark was when he used Fix You by Coldplay UNIRONICALLY in Derek. He's still pretty cool, though. But that series showed that he thought he could pull off emotion without investing in the heart of a show.
I love the SAS conversation because of course it's hilarious, but also it's a great example of how to do exposition efficiently. We never see what his time was like with the SAS, but in one joke, we can pretty much tell what happened. He was a dufus and the SAS...I mean Super Army Soldiers, took the piss out of him non-stop.
2:43 is honestly a moment of insane genius as Gervais’ voice cracks to the extent his look of absolute shock has me in constant fits of laughter. Watch it on repeat and try not to laugh … EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.
LMAO "just check this out" Hahaha, goddddd... the moment when he flips the calculator upside down for the first time is so brilliant.. We used to do that shit in school at like 14 and it's still funny today no matter what age.
I love how Ricky cannot help but laugh at that calculator. It’s one of the oldest, most tired jokes, associated with a calculator. But he laughs like it’s a quality one liner. Hilarious 😂
Welsh Wanderer i'm not too sure to be honest. they just don't seem to do anything together anymore. i think they were a perfect combo and both are not as good without the other
I genuinely don't understand any comments like this. How many people have you worked with that you never keep in touch with now. It's a job. That is all it is. No matter how many laughs you had.
I had not considered that b4 but it makes perfect sense in that he achieves his objective of a Re-Take without offending anyone by implying their acting was not up to scratch ir what was required especially as he is flattering the other Actor by saying he/she is funny...
^ I completely agree. It is usually with people he is close to, but it is his humour. He never intentionally wants to hurt anyone's feelings, he expects people to give it back. He really is genuinely a nice guy.
It's a good thing Ricky is in charge of the show, cos he corpses about 3 times as much as anyone else. The upside is he has seriously infectious laughter.
I know it sure wasn´t funny for most people, but I lost it when Sir Patrick Stewart was telling the story of having the ladies in the helicopter, and then he said "I can sneek a look in the mirror (to look on the ladies in the back)" as that thing would have one. Bahahaaa!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I agree. Karl is the most fascinating person on Earth to me. I love getting insight into how hes thinking, and im always god damn amazed how Ricky can sometimes figure out what Karl is trying to say with little to know info. I remember him talking about that "bad wind in America", and from that Ricky somehow knew he meant Hurricane Katrina. On the first guess too. Thats god damn amazing, cause i was so confused as to what a "bad wind in America" could be, i wasnt even thinking a hurricane.
Hahahah, yeah it's awesome! I always thought that I'd love to show Karl Brokeback Mountain and then stumbled across that a few weeks ago. Best bit is when he asks to see a bit of it again and Ricky and Steve poke fun at him. :')
I usually watch this once every couple weeks to increase my serotonin level.
Same haha
They're all naked
Nailed it
Thats exactly the reason why i do!🤣
😁
I can't tell you how many times I've watched this with tears in my eyes...if you're having a bad day it's the best mood changer in creation.
The plethora of Gervais bloopers will cure any dark day. That f ing joker laugh lol
Alright mate, just check this out.
Smifficus it is actually funny
Just a simple calculator. If I type in 58008 and turn it upside down then, amazingly, says BOOBS.
Low and behold.... boobs.
I just want to hang around on the set of one of Ricky's shows for a weekend.
It looks like you'd laugh enough for a lifetime.
An extra on the extras
Super army soldiers
lol
skin on skin
Stripped to the waist.
joshbusby47 and to the death
hes my favourite character haha

We are The brothers and sister extras ain't a movie
dragonball bows it's a documentary.
“Her clothes fall off?”
“Instantly”

thesilversupporter it wasn't the way he said it that made Ricky laugh, Steve has a eye reflex that for some reason his eyes lids open up more than most which makes Ricky laugh
Steve Merchant is so good in Extras!
And on the muppets
His character and Murray from FOTC would be best mates
@@hotpotat0es Beaker lol
I bet the cast and crew don't get home until 11pm when Gervais is on set.
Gervais was probably always on the set.

Ollie Hilton wasn't it 2 pm?
"Have a little sip of tea and drink it!"

So underrated
There is no distinction between Stephen Merchant and Darren Lamb at all.
Joshua Lowe 58008
Joshua Lowe Yea, they look quite similar.
I wonder how many hours of footage of Ricky corpsing there is in existence
+VideoDeadGaming they had to start measuring it in days, not hours.
More camera time than all TV and movies
@@jshep73 No wonder his shows have few episodes... If they were to make a 22 episode, it would take a year with him

Put the subtitles on that clip, it's even funnier.

Les Dennis episode is pure genius
I gained a lot of respect for Les and Cheggers for being able to take the piss out of themselves in Extras.

Only saw him fleetingly, but Bunny is just a tremendous character. So so funny👍
Ricky's cutest laugh... Like a kid 🥰
