I have had a DSG for the last 7 years, and trust me, if you drive sensibly, then there are no issues
Hi, It's my first DSG with the Virtus, It tends to make clattering noises on bad roads only (it shifts to D1 from D2 for no reason), Apart from this, it also kind of clicks/clunks in manual mode when I downshift, I knew about the clattering noises on bad roads but the manual mode clunks started recently, Should I be worried? It was never like this before

Reset the DSG it will fix
Change your gear oil and mechatronics oil within 60k kms or 5 years. This is most important. Nothing else is
This is applicable for Dq200. It is very easy and even local mechanics can do this, there are plenty of good videos in TH-cam. You can buy the oils online.
In my VW Taigun GT+ I'm frequently getting tyre pressure loss warnings on the instrument cluster for a specific tyre (not necessarily the same one). But when I get it checked at the air filling station, the tyre pressure is almost always right. What could be the reason for that and is it something that you've experienced yourself or heard from other owners?
Have you tried resetting the TPMS after refilling air. I was getting similar alert continuously but for same tyre. And found there was a puncture. But no case i have experienced for different tyres
Just see yt, go to information system & reset the tyre pressure + alignment setting
Initially people were saying it's the diesel engine which had problems with DSG but it seems the problem is still there with petrol engines as well
Yes. The issue is with the transmission itself. Again DQ200 is a dry clutch one

For instances when the dsg-equipped car is stationary at a traffic signal for a longer period, and if the car has the auto start/stop feature, would this act as a fail-safe against dsg wear and tear? do we need to put the car into neutral when the car has stopped? It would be great to get your thoughts on the same. Thanks!
No. You can completely ignore any dsg wear and tear. Keep pressing the brake pedal will work fine. Nothing to worry about engine start stop. In case you need to give your foot a rest, then Neutral with handbrake is enough. We have another video for this. You can check the same
I was so tempted to buy the DSG 1.5 but went with 1L AT because of similar concerns

Same with me. But 1.0 also has its own issue and it needs proper care
Still a serious enthusiastic driver will definitely miss DSG if he has ever driven a DSG gearbox with 1.5 TSI. The experience is just fantastic, and cannot be compared to 1.0 TSI.
But of everyone else, 1.0 TSI is more than enough.

Hello bhai, great to see u coming out wid great videos on taigun. Had lot of doubts and many of which were answered on your videos, so a big thankyou! I wanted to ask you about the AC which I find is under performing. Asked the service centre about the same and they said that it is absolutely fine. I have a march 2022 version of taigun GT+. Is there any software update or it is a hardware problem?
If you feel AC ineffective in 1.5 variants, then service centre people can’t help much more. Their AC is less effective than those provided in other brand cars. Even i felt hot air blowing several times. Better use the AC in manual mode. Keep recirculating mode ON, fan speed a little bit higher. It will help. Will post a video on it very soon

Hi sir, I had a question regarding my Virtus GT DSG. Sirji I think I might've commented this on your channel but in my last 7500 KM inspection service, I feel the service center guys reset my DSG or had disconnected battery due to which it got reset. Now, I see that the gearbox tries to stay in D1 instead of upshifting to D2. Before the reset, it used to immediately shift to D2. Due to this, When going over bad roads, When i am applying no throttle and just creeping, it randomly downshifts to D1 with a clunk noise from the bottom, earlier it never used to do this and always stayed in D2. Also, Now I feel the gearshifts a lot, with a clicking noise always when the transmission upshifts. What should I do? Should I get it reset again properly?
Yes, go to them, ask them to get it right, ask for a loaner car, make sure the problem is solved
@@BlackBrightKnight actually, idk what happened but now the car is just fine, it shifts perfectly as it used to before and everything else is just fine, yeah it kinda clunks sometimes when over bumpy roads from 2nd to 1st gear when it gets confused but apart from that no issues at all, I searched on the internet and also talked to other people having the same GT variant that they face the same clunking sometimes on bumpy roads when the DSG is confused. And the whining has stopped randomly lol, honestly i feel the whining is the tyre noise for sure, i dont feel its the gearbox
when in bad roads and stop and go traffic stay in Manual mode and shift to 2nd only when needed.
And also the megatronic will eventually adapt to your style of driving as its learning and adjusting according to your driving style.
No 2 DSG will behave similarly after it has adapted to its driver.
Sir what's the replacement cost of dsg gearbox in taigun or virtus?
The cost of mechatronics is approx 80K+
Full geabox cost 4.5 lakhs it is better to get covered in warranty
Sir pl don't mind,am new to automatic cars, when we're stuck at uphill which is steep, suppose when we're putting foot on brake and we slightly take off (just rpm meter moves a bit)and press back the brake hard, does the brake gets stuck and we've to press accelerator to move the fwd and it gives lot of pick-up at that time? If we dont press accelerator vehicle doesn't move and the brake gets locked... is it normal?
Btw I'm using kushaq 1.0 AT...
Did you get any reply on this? I saw you posted your query in one of the comment sections as well...
This is a feature, it is called hill hold. It will hold the brake for you until you press the accelerator. So that your car doesn't roll backwards.

Be safer by buying a 1.5 manual, but the warranty covers the DSG Gearbox ... Manual is reliable after 6 year warranty also

Torque converter is very reliable transmission. It doesn’t have this issue

Don’t worry! No DSG case occurred in Slavia and Kushaq. Still if you had booked a Taigun I wouldn’t have suggested you to cancel.
Absolutely, we have to depend more on the software rather than the hardware. Because of these issues, I use manual gear box.
Agree ! If someone is comfortable with manual gearbox, then more flexibility and low maintenance in manual gearbox any day
DQ-200 Gearbox in 1.5 L is the biggest issue, they should have given DQ-250 gearbox which is there in Tiguan

Aap dono ki test drive lijiye. Same price mein aap ko Seltos ki fully feature wali variant mil jayegi sayad. But Taigun mein aap ko safety ke sath sath unmatched driving dynamics bagera mil jayegi.
I am planning to buy a virtus or slavia...with a 1.5 engine...after driving 6 years in a manual car..in heavy bumper to bunper traffic..i really want to buy an automatic...now I am really worried should I go for the dsg or settle with a manual....
You shouldn’t be worried for the issues of DSG. Blindly go for it. These issues were there in some first batches of Taigun only

Not using 95 octane may affect engine. And it may be for 1.0 MT also. But driving style obviously matter. Still in these cases, can’t blame the driving style
Why do we need to buy these pseudo germans when other cars in this segment not give these types of headaches? Virtus and taigun owners are crying continuously on owners group on Facebook.

It might be due to summer temperature. Please try driving with light foot in early morning and check if you get better mileage

Sir the coolant engine temp is 90, but it takes so much of time for example around 7-10 min when we turn on the engine. Is it normal?

No need to wait for coolant temperature to reach at any point. Just need to wait till the engine speed comes below 1000rpm

Sir, mere sath abhi parso (25/08/2023) aisa hi kuchh hua. Mere paas Taigun 1 L Topline AT hai. Chalte chalte gear D2 me atak gaya aur speed 0 (khadi gaadi me bhi) D1 pe nahi aa raha tha. D2 onwards sahi kaam kar raha tha.
Fir uske baad nahi hua. SC ne scanning kiya aur bola nothing detected.
Mujhe lagta hai ye aage bhi ho sakta hai. Should I be worried?
Agar ek baar hua hai aur service centre detect nahin kar paaye to ignore. Next time aaye to video bana ke service centre mein dikhaie

@@murphy_jalem Go for Automatic if you are willing to drive within city for 70% of time else manual. Also only go for top models only if you are interested in sun roof. Else mid variant is great, as it provides all features.

You can do any one of the both options. It won’t harm gearbox. Just if you feel tired of keep pressing the brake pedal, then only N plus handbrake

No need to worry, blindly go for it. This video was just for awareness, you can check other comments in this video, i never discourage to staty away from DSG. No other engine and transamission combo can't make you that much happy, what DSG gives :)

Yes. Dono ki engine tuning thoda different hai. Skoda 2.0 cars mein DSG issue nahin aayi. But aap ka sakte hain Taigun ya Kushaq aap ke pasand ke hisaab se.

Is manual dsg low maintenance?
It's just repair cost which is higher in DSG
Sir i own a Taigun 1.5 GT, bought in Dec 2023.. lava blue, electronic seats model.
I have driven it 1280 kms to be precise. Yesterday night as i started my car, it showed me an error message:
Transmission error: you may continue to drive a D until engine is off.. and car engine light came up.
Also car was jerking a lot and again and again i had to move it to nuetral and then again to drive mode.
I took it to service station today, they are investigating the issue and said mechatronics might need to be changed.. they said they are involving technical team but have not given me any timeline as to when it will get repaired. 😢😢
Stuck now.
Oh ! Sad to hear. They may take 1-2 weeks to replace it under warranty

Because of this DSG issue in last moment i cancelled my booking of vw GT plus and booked Elevate zx cvt
Although CVT is very reliable but it can’t match the driving feel of DCT.
CVT also has its share of issue, and not trouble free.
If one wants to go for bulletproof gearbox, blindly go for VW/Skoda 1.0 AT. It’s tried and tested AISIN gearbox.
VAG 2.0 DSG is a lot more reliable than the previous ones. 3 failed DSG in 2-3 years can be considered very good reliability, to be honest.

In that whatsapp message you showed in this video, the writer said he did reset gears. What’s that? Can you plz explain.
When the gear lever of DSG gearbox gets jammed and doesn’t shift to any gear from P, there is an option for resetting it using a pin. It’s mentioned in user manual. Will make a video on it shortly

This is only in Taigun?
Till now all the cases reported were in Taigun only. But Virtus has same engine and transmission. Kushaq and Slavia have same transmission with a little bit differently tuned engine

So, if we want 1.5 engine it’s better to go with manual transmission.
Issue is there in DSG. But if you like you should go for it. The percentage of affected cars is very less
@@DirectShift Is it small? They have sold close to 40000 Taiguns so far, more of that in 1 lit engine. Even assuming equal distribution across all variants, might have sold only 6000 DSG

Yes. Agree with your point. Because we know only those cases, which are posted in social networking sites. There could be so many cases unpublished. The good thing is this is not there in Slavia, Kushaq and Virtus. I believe it’s because of different tuning in Škoda cars and they might have done some changes in Virtus. I belong to so many communities of all these cars. Again i am talking about those are in my community

So then stop buying all luxury brands, XUVs, Scorpios, or any car with modern tech and go back to good old days of Ambassador. It’s a plain and simple fact that MT is more reliable than AT. The brand has done it bit to make it reliable. If there are any scattered issue reported, they are immediately fixing it. What more do you need from a brand?
Making awareness about an issue doesn’t mean it’s a discouragement. I myself own a DSG one and always recommend this variant only. But people should be aware that the issue still exists.
@@DirectShift I appreciate the sentiment. Have you received any more reports of any such alleged failures in last six months? I haven’t read a single such grievance on Team BHP till date. Also the infamous issue that speak of related to its Fly Wheel.

Aap ko worried hone ki bilkul jaroorat nahin. Mere pass bhi GT variant hai aur main abhi bhi sab ko yehi variant recommend karta hoon. Issue kisi bhi car mein aa sakti hai. Par sab ki awareness ke liye yeh video dekhna jaroori
