At least the seconds hand is hitting the minute marker exactly. I think it looks perfect. It looks abit like a submariner in my opinion. I would buy it in a heartbeat.
I have the brown version on a tropic strap and am very happy with it. Everything lines up perfectly, seconds and bezel. Accuracy is incredible. It gets more wrist time than my more expensive automatics and mechanicals.
The black night vision version is very nice and eye catching or stealthy depending on the lighting conditions. The steel bracelets have been criticised for hollow links and pressed clasp, but in use it is very comfortable and four micro adjust positions on the clasp help ensure a perfect fit. I liked the bracelet and my only criticism is that the pin and collar system for securing the links is a bit fiddly to remove and install. A very nice tool watch with 200m ISO dive rating, sapphire glass and a very accurate solar quartz movement. Seiko quote plus or minus 15 seconds per month but my example looks to be comfortably within 1 minute per year. I haven’t had it long enough to confirm that figure, but it won’t be far off that.
I love mine. Great grab-and-go. Slim enough to fit under a cuff and tough enough for my Minnesota -30 degree temps. Mine has zero backplay. I think this is a great value considering you can find these for
It’s a totally different shade of green. The green of the Alpinist goes well with the gold indices. The green on this diver works well with the silver hands and provides an overall modern look.
Its amazing how different people's opinions and wrists are, I have this on an after market jubilee bracelet, looks great but I actually found the original Seiko bracelet, although a pressed clasp and cheaper, by far the most comfortable bracelet I've tried it on so far. Great watch, highly recommend it.
I put the original bracelet on it now and then but I find it too chunky. The clasp was easy enough to replace. This case just works better on a strap. But that’s just my preference. Looks great on jubilees tho!
I love this watch, it takes a lot of vintage submariner design elements but it still looks very seiko. The color is also great, it looks more premium than the standard black but isn't flashy. The build is standard seiko around this price meaning it's very solid throughout with a rattily clasp. In my opinion the bracelet feels great and comfortable only problem i had was the the springbars where squeaky so i put a bit of bicycle dry lube on it and now it's gone. I have seen a post of someone fitting an skx013 jubilee on this and it fitted good so you might try that.
I bought the blue and green versions. I like the brushing and the polish line. If anything I'd like to see the polish line thicker. I think the thick bezel gives it a tool look. I heard the bezel was steel, but it's not disclosed by Seiko. The movement is made in Japan. The pin and collar is a pain. I put the blue one on the Lunar Watch brand single pass nato strap and it looks like the Black Bay blue version at a fraction of the price. It's almost 39mm so I wouldn't call it small. I love them!
Currently have my SNE569 on a dark gray sailcloth strap, though I replace that with a rubber strap when it is time to get in the water. Bezel is great with very little back play, and seconds hand hits the indices every time. I love the small size and understated looks of this watch. It's an every-day watch, so I appreciate the fact it is a solar/quartz movement. Overall this watch just works for me.
Nice fair review! Appreciate the details you put into it, lots of other reviews didn’t talk about things like the bezel thickness or case chamfer proportions at all. I have the SNE575 on bracelet and it’s one of my favorites even though a few things looked ‘off’ before I saw in person (the beefy lugs worried me). I tried that Uncle Seiko President bracelet you mentioned at the end and unfortunately, the endlink and overall bracelet just didn’t visually work with the watch IMO even though it technically fit. As much as I hate polished faux links that the stock bracelet has, it somehow worked all together. Thanks for the nice lengthy review I could enjoy my coffee through ;)
Thanks a lot for your comment! I have just recently started doing reviews so appreciate the feedback. How comfortable do you find the bracelet? Despite the other flaws, I really wanted to wear it but the clasp just digs into my wrist.
@@realestwatchreviews For sure! Definitely looking forward to more reviews :) I should have also mentioned, I replaced the awful clasp + diver's ext with the clasp from my SNA411 (identical but minus the extension). I agree, those extensions really dig in horribly. With that removed, it fits like a glove for me compared to other bracelets that are better on paper like the SSC819)
I have the blue Padi version on a steel bracelet and i absolutely love it.Its a really good looking watch and the lumibrite on the dial is amazing. Its another quality diver to add to my collection
Nice review. Thank you. Since it's not an automatic, does the watch make a ticking sound each second? If so, is it loud enough if the watch is next to your bed when sleeping?
Thanks! No it is not loud, you can only hear the ticking if you hold watch next to your ear. No chance of hearing it from a bedside table like a cheap timex quartz!
Great video! Just got the watch today. Couldn’t agree more with your thoughts on the bracelet; squeeky and cheap at best!! Watch great for around 300€. Ordered new bracelet for this model from long island watch.
I have the Padi version. Im thinking of getting a black and green one so I can swap the green bezel onto the black dial for a Seiko Sun-Mariner “Starbucks”. The green looks darker though. Maybe better looking in the sunlight. Anyway, these are great little watches 🙂
I also have this watch (the JDM version) and love it. Great color scheme (sunburst black and that blue-gray bezel just work), great size, and the seconds hand hits every marker. My bezel has zero back-play, but it did come slightly misaligned (realigning it wasn't too bad). Surprised you hate the bracelet. It fits the watch well and I find it very comfortable. To each their own
@@realestwatchreviews Mark from Islander watch has made 2 bracelets for this SunMariner. $60... crazy good.. they taper to 16mm. I'm on the fence now of buying this watch.
@@Stanjara I saw those bracelets. Uncle Seiko also released one. I wish on the fly adjustment was included. But I’m sure they are both better than the Seiko bracelet. This watch looks great on straps too.
Been enjoying this watch, got the black version on the rubber strap so I can't comment on the bracelet, zero backplay on my bezel. Also got an amazing deal at $275 so that's probably why I'm so forgiving but to me it feels like a budget Pelagos 39.
One thing you forgot to mention. The bezel insert does not sit flush to the bezel. I don’t mind it on my all black version. But Seiko really need to up their QC.
Hi is this the smallest mens diver that Seiko has out right now? Is this the closest new seiko to the discontinued and legendary (for adult males with girlishly skinny wrists ha) the SKX013?
This is the smallest prospex Seiko diver in the current line up. I've had an SKX013 in the past and would pick this new Solar diver as the SKX was too thick and top heavy on my wrist.
I'm considering this watch (SNE573) from Sakura watches. Which would probably cost me around $600 CAD after shipping + duties. And the Citizen NB6021-17E which you also reviewed. Which would cost me $880 CAD. I'm a little hesitant to order from japan without seeing if the second hand hits every marker and considering its a Seiko I'm not 100% confident it will. The Citizen has Titanium and also has sapphire and has a 4hz movement and I can order it from a store in Canada where I live so returning it would be easier. Which is the better watch in your opinion??
Most times, there is usually something wrong with the seiko watch designs. The only diver I find attractive is the SPB143 model. You’ve got a double whammy here. It’s cheap looking and it’s a quartz. Not hating on your review. It’s actually a good review. The watch is underwhelming.
Interesting take. I can't think of a more attractive Seiko diver than the SPB143 either. I do like the design of the MM300, even though its a beast. I wouldn't say this watch feels cheap. But, for what you get it should cost about $100 less.

The brown version looks amazing! Wish I had gone with that one instead of green. Enjoy it my friend!
Can't decide on brown or faded blue
I have the brown one as well. Everything lines up. I have mine in a uncle Seiko presidential style bracelet.

It’s a totally different shade of green. The green of the Alpinist goes well with the gold indices. The green on this diver works well with the silver hands and provides an overall modern look.
The bezel insert is made from steel. I have the SNE573, and I love this watch; it's toolish, yet refinated and so versatile. Nice review!

Very good observation, but it seems like a design choice not a QC issue.

The bezel insert is designed to sit inside the bezel and not flush. Great for increased scratch protection.

What are the san martins model number ?
Watch very good; bracelet rubbish; just get a rubber strap and you love it. Very versatile watch.
hi, how heavy is the SNE569 compared to the SKX007?
The SNE569 is about 80 grams on strap and 130 grams on bracelet sized for 6.5 inch wrist. I don’t have an SKX007 to weigh.
ahh you mentioned sapphire crystal in the last 20 seconds.
I never liked the alpinist 🤷♂️ but that baby hulk is 👀
Esse relógio 38mm é show
The Alpinist is 39.5 not 38.5. That's why you think it wears big
Good review though
Thanks! I get between 38.8-39.1 depending where I measure. It’s not an easy one to accurately measure due to the crowns.
