    Thank you for giving information to people. My daughter is 21 years old with Down Syndrome. She is reading, doing theatre, likes to play board games, does chores around the house and loves to bowl. Your daughter is a sweetheart.

    Down syndrome affected people are probably the purest at heart soo innocent I hope no one poisons their heart and mind God bless them and truly protect them in this cruel world, to me I see them as a sign as a reminder that there’s still hope and we can be pure and innocent again

    That's what the doctor told me " it's not that you have done something wrong" and he said " just love her as you love your other children" well of cause I love her,she is my baby,my baby with Down Syndrome and she is perfect and loved just the way she is.No 2 people are the same after all,even my other children are different and I don't know what they will be in life the same with my daughter,she is different and I don't know what she will be in life what I have to do as their parent is to do the best I possibly can to bring out the best out of them all.

    My daughter has mosaic down syndrome. At 8-months, when it was first discovered by a Doctor during a visit to the clinic to treat her fever, he told me to take her for examination in a specialist hosp. At that time, the attendants on duty did some brief examination and convinced us, she has no down syndrome. How was i supposed to know much about kids, she was my first and i took it has everything was o.k, that she was just slow. As time goes on, it became obvious that she has it, cos she didnt walk until close to 2, couldn't speak except Mama & later Papa until after 3years but she speaks wat we don't understand. Eventually, she's speaking now though a little fluently but she keeps mproving.
    At age 4, she picks interest in hairmaking, she can twist neatly at age 6 presently, though still trying to braid. My concern is the writing part, she gets angry, i mean very angry whenever she tries to write but couldn't get it. She throws the book and pencil away with a serious shout. Later, she goes to pick them again and try. I try to help her most times but she likes to be in control and since i'm not a teacher, i allow her be for some time and try again.
    At the moment, we are changing her school, though the Doctors adviced us not to take her to a special school since it is very mild, that she can easily pick in a regular school. Though she's improving but not at a good rate beccause she wants to do more, she wants to do what her classmates are doing, she's a very determined and intelligent child and we don't want to limit her, that is why she's changing school. She can take care of her brother and yelled at him when necessary for disregarding her, she's a disciplinarian, in short, i dont understand her atimes. I want to register her in some kind of Foundation or maybe it's association or organisation that helps such kids to attain their full potentials but i don't know where to go and how to go about it. If I get some advice, i will really appreciate. Thanks

      Ask him! Treat the child just like any child. Birthdays, Christmas, anytime you have to do gifts just ask what they like. They are super friendly so give lots of hugs and smiles. They speak a lot with their eyes and movements so Pay attention. They like to be social and play games. They are also strong willed and have a mind of their own. Naomi will grab stranger’s hands and show them things very forcefully but sweetly. It’s sometimes hard to excuse yourself, because they love others so much.

    • @LivingWithEve
      @LivingWithEve  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In all developmental areas they are delayed. She’s is now 5 but she acts likes a three year old. Speech and motor skills are also slower, a lot from the low tone. However everyone is different so it’s like a spectrum. But they have a ton of personality. If anything is not delayed, it’s the social side.

      I think breeding different races over the years together that DONT MIX WELL is what has caused it. almost like a person that ends up albinism. like a pug dog or a white tiger that usually comes out albinism and down syndrome look in the face. no offense but remember Hitler and him trying to CREATE the perfect race. so I believe that it's a genetic issue for sure only because they were mixing races that SHOULD HAVE NEVER CROSS BRED. just like how a mother with the negative/positive can kill her own baby in the womb because something doesn't mix. that's my take on it. some of us have no clue and are claiming many races. I'm 1/6th this 16 % that. half this half that. it's like a recipe u add one wrong/right ingredient and u change the whole dish for the better or the worst. it all science if u really get deep..if someone was to study they may give u a perfect recipe to get a down syndrome child.and no this is not a bash AT ALL. those beautiful children melt my heart to see them. alot are super smart and much more advanced than some so called NORMAL people.❤❤🎉🎉 bless your pathways for knowledge and know the ledge.

    Wow!!! -> You had the best explanation ever, I now understand the process it takes for Down Syndrome to occur in the female body.
    1) Trisomy 21 "most common down syndrome" happening in 95% of the cases. 2) Translocation Down Syndrome "in 4% cases" - AFTER Fertilization and Meiosis one the chromosomes end up having an extra chromosome 21, which the chromosome 21 results in down syndrome 3) Mosaic "happens in 1% cases or less" after fertilization, there is an error in duplication, results in the baby having half of there chromosomes that equal to (46) and (47) in there other half of there cells, "this is rare" and there symptoms are less severe. I'm so curious about how children in down syndrome adapt into society long term, pros/cons....
