My favorite part of Light vs Walt is that it has the potential to be a city wide battle despite the fact they’re just normal dudes, Light and Walt using their connections to law enforcement and the criminal underworld respectively to set up scenarios and cause chaos all in the name of finding out the others identity and eliminating them as a threat.

The animation at the start was amazing. Although I’d usually find it weird for Light to have his breakdown so early on, but the fact that the fight starts in medias res makes it easier for me to accept(plus the fact that we just need to see Light freaking out if he’s against someone). Amazing matchup and video, it’s my favorite for both although it’s unfortunately getting overshadowed by Columbo, massive props dude overall. Keep up the good work
its weird how it overshadows other ideas since Light vs Columbo doesnt really _need_ to be a death battle. The whole reason people love it is because Columbo beating Light would be satisfying, we've all seen the memes! But then thats just another Columbo episode. And it would be a great one, but we wouldn't need death battle to put it together when they can make a story and match up that leaves you guessing
Oh boy, a drug cartel pushing into Kira’s territory, Light being the investigator instead of the prey. Battles between Cartel and Police, even whatever Yakuza survived the eye of Kira being swept up… This isn’t a Death Battle. This is an entire show as the two try to sus out eachothers identities, and cripple eachothers power structures and contacts, all while setting up distractions to throw the other off of their trail. This is a war that could go on for years.
And all of this, as a chemistry teacher moves to Japan for a higher paying job (and to escape incoming law enforcement hunting him back home), and ends up getting into philosophical debates with one of his students.
no because school shooters get bullied and lash out in response.. Light Yagami has a god complex.. one acts on sense of inferiority, the other acts on sense of superiority.. Light is not a school shooter..
I can't believe you got that Columbo fact wrong, making this entire video suddenly null and void and meaning that Light vs Columbo is the one, only, and sole matchup that can ever happen ever! That's so crazy. (Thank you for letting Shay and I edit your audio for this, had a lot of fun, this turned out super well!)
The ending of the battle in my mind: Walter: Say my name! -points a gun to his face Light: -Coughing blood, Walter.....White Walter: What? How do yo..... -Hearts stop -Walter falls to the ground, in the same position he fell at the end of the show, looking up with his lifeless eyes Light approaches is dead body with a smile, and watches Walter slowly closing his eyes.
It would be better if as Walter falls, his gun goes off, killing Light as they fall perfectly perpendicularly from each other, mimicking the ending to Breaking Bad
The way Walter talks to Light doesn't feel like Walter, Walter wouldn't hate Light for killing thousands of people, more accurately he'd try to kill Light for trying to shut down his Meth Empire
I think that line has less to do with Walter hating Light and more to do with how hypocritical he’s being. “Do you have any idea how many people have suffered because of you? Died by your hand?” The same thing can be said about Walt, but as usual, he’s projecting it onto someone else.
Remember that White is a massive gaslighting hypocrite. I thought that line was perfect because he always act as if he's on the high road out, as if he's always right or that he's always better despite doing the very worst things.
I'd say it depends on what point in the show Walt is supposed to be from. Seasons 2 to 4 this would be pretty accurate for him, but for most of season 5 he's a complete monster. If this is season 5 Walt he wouldn't be calling Light a monster for killing people, just trying to assert his superiority.
Well, "people" to Walt means "junkies keeping money flowing", "useful stooges, alibi scapegoats, and connections", and "fellow drug lords to maintain business".
While I can’t say I’m especially still a fan of the match, the preview was incredibly impressive as was the overall perspective given across the video. Massive props for presenting this all with your opinion and hard work, hope nothing but the best for your and the film you’re working on!
This comment is just so wholesome. It's always refreshing to see someone with a different opinion, yet still appreciating the quality & effort of a presentation & wishing the creator well. Made my day.
Well, THAT banger animation took me the fuck out in the best way possible O-o amazing video man! I was honestly mixed on whether this MU is "haha weird n meme-y" or "wait they might actually be cookin" and your video DEFINETLY sold me on placing it on the latter! The creativity alone they could bring with this is nothing short of fascinating, thematically it's kinda like an... intelligence-flavored Vader VS Obito, and thats my fav episode of all time so even better :D
Glad to hear I swayed you! It definitely sounds Meme-y at first, especially when I first heard it, but after I thought about it for more than 10 minutes going back and forth on who might win, it really sold me on it and I’ve been an advocate ever since. It also got me into THREE amazing shows, and I’m really grateful for that.
as much as i love light vs columbo(to the point where i might like it more than light vs walter) youve convinced me on how interesting this would be as an episode as well as a matchup as a whole, especially with how much i love more grounded matchups
As i said in the live chat, my preferred for Light is Kristoph Gavin from Ace Attorney, but mostly from my own personal bias (as much as i think it is underrated) I think you did a fantastic job on selling this matchup, the animation looks clean, the music is awesome and you got a new subscriber :D
To be perfectly honest, I think your average Death Battle fan would rather have a traditional clash of power and fisticuffs over anything too brainy. Also, Light vs. Heisenburg would be a fascinating matchup, but IMO... Light vs. Jigsaw tho.
Death battle fan since the beginning, don't know wtf you're talking about. I'd love to see a death battle like this, one with time jumps over the course of months of investigating, manipulation, and bribery.
@@montymorrion1357 plus there are more interesting fights for jigsaw. I personally think Johan Liebert from the anime Monster would be a far more interesting matchup.
I mean if you extend the fight a little bit you could fit some fisticuffs in there after the heist, just make a longer animation into a mini-episode of either show and shorten the rundown. I'd also say it would work in live-action if they find the right actors. I think a fight would still be awesome with them fighting over the Death Note. The ending I envision (if WW wins) is the two of them tugging at the DN trying to regain control until they pull it apart with pages flying all over the place, Light taking one of them and using his own blood to write Walter's name in it until a gunshot could be heard. 3 pages with bullet holes settle to the ground and the camera pans to show the Smoking gun of Walter White and a bullet hole in Lights body dripping onto the page he's writing on. P.S. It's good to know some people that appreciate the stomps for the narrative rather than complaining about the outcome
I read a really good version of this fight on the Death Battle fanon wiki. It's pretty much an episode of Death Note or Breaking Bad where Light and Walter are trying to find out who the other is before their opponent can using their usual connections and friends.
Gotta say, you gave me a much greater appreciation for this match up than before, and I understand why Columbo wouldn't be as compelling. Also holy cow was that animation sick!
Tbh given the two characters, I’m pretty sure Walter White pulling out his gun and shooting IS the end of that animation. Like, seriously, what exactly is there left to do? Light gets shot and dies. He has absolutely no combat feats and literally died in the show under the exact same circumstances. Hence why it’s a bad matchup for a Death Battle animation.
While I personally am not a fan of a matchup like this happening on Death Battle, that preview is really high quality, almost like the DB team made it. The voice acting was great, especially Light's. He knocked it out of the park.
You hyped me up by 1,000% by making me think this was gonna be an 8 minute animation of these two throwing hands, but this ended being exactly what I thought it was going to be.
@@levitation5271 It absolutely is a good thing, the animation was DOPE!!! but I clicked on the video wanting and expecting a breakdown of how a death match between these two would look like, and that's what I got. I enjoyed the video so I left it a like, really, good job 👍
Absolutely stellar work on this vid, that "Preview" animation went absurdly hard. I personally like Columbo vs Light more, but would be none the sadder if we got Vs Walt. It's a great fight, and you sold that!

What a fun video! While i still prefer Columbo since it seems like less of a hassle to set up in an animation. That fan preview was really sick. Also really appreciate the narration you provide here
The preview was fantastic ngl, it perfectly captures their character, especially Lights (the voice acting was off the charts). While I think Columbo is reasonably a great option for Light, I gotta agree that Walter VS Light carries a stronger legacy and has slightly more to it than Light VS Columbo does. Plus, Light fighting a Druglord instead of a Detective (similar to L) sounds funnier and cooler. This documentary perfectly sums up why I love this, ngl.
Here’s my thoughts on how this battle would go down if it happened. There’s a couple scenarios I can imagine. #1. Breaking Bad and Death Note happen in the same world at the same time. In this situation Walter is in New Mexico and Light is in Japan, and because of this they only ever hear of each other. Walter would be intrigued by Kira but his arrogance would make him believe it’s just a myth, and Light would consider killing “Heisenberg” but when he realizes he can’t he’d let it go. I can’t see a situation where Light goes out of his way to hunt Heisenberg down, it’s just too risky and there isn’t a big enough motivation for him. When Walt’s identity is revealed to the public and he goes into hiding that’s when Kira would write his name in the book and kill him, essentially right at the end of the show. #2. In this situation Light Yagami is an American immigrant whose family settled in New Mexico, and his father would join the police force that is tasked with taking the drug kingpin down. This is the ideal situation since Kira would want Heisenberg dead but wouldn’t have a name or face. Unfortunately I think this scenario ends around Season 2-3 of Breaking Bad. Light would use his father’s police connections to get records and files, and quickly realize that lab equipment from Walt’s high school went missing. He’d piece together that Walter White is intelligent enough to be a drug manufacturer and would get close to him. Thing is, Light is a *much* better liar than Walt. Walter avoided being caught because Hank gave him the benefit of the doubt, meanwhile Light could avoid getting caught while being the #1 suspect. He’d earn Walter’s trust and catch him in lies and contradictions until he was confident Walter was Heisenberg. Finally he’d give the tip off to the police *just* to confirm, and once Walter is arrested Kira would execute him in prison. Someone make this into a fan comic please.
The only way that I think Walt comes out on top is if we throw L into the mix. I can see a situation where L is hunting Kira, and frankly doesn’t give two shits about Heisenberg. With a master detective on his trail, I can see that distracting Light long enough for Heisenberg to do some work of his own. Perhaps Walt learns of Light being a suspect in the Kira case from Hank? If that’s the case, I could see him investigating that situation on his own and maybe getting farther since he wouldn’t be against breaking the law. That or he doesn’t risk it, he has Light killed before he’s even caught.
@@ronathan02 This does bring up a interesting scenario of how does this battle works exxxactly Would this battle work with all the investigation that was done on them or is it done without that invesitgation stuff that had been done before, so no L and no police investigations Also we need to consider the fact that Light is the #1 suspect, the fact that they even are being considered them would have them be put on walters radar, and he would consider trying to do a assassination on them, at least with the labstuff stolen it isnt a massive target on you like being *#1 SUSPECT*
@@bagseys I tried to keep it accurate to the timelines of both shows, assuming Light and Walt’s stories start around the same time. I feel like cutting out L and Hank’s investigations is removing too much of their stories.
Kira goes after criminals, the second he hears meth empire ran by a Heisenberg that the police can't catch he'd kill Walt in a heartbeat haha. He'd just write a load of major criminals in the notebook and say that they become obsessed with revealing Heisenberg's identity before they die and within a few minutes tuko or another big criminal that knows walt would just tweet his identity out and then GG haha. I think this would be the quickest death battle ever. If light can outsmart L who has literally god like intelligence, he can outsmart a chemistry teacher who has his identity revealed to dozens of people throughout the show haha. Breaking bad I absolutely adore it's definitely in my top 10 shows but good god Walt is nothing compared to the characters of death note intelligence wise. The only reason he struggled to find L's name depending which source material we're going off of is because the name basically doesn't exist on any records. Walt is literally a school teacher who drives his normal family car to the drug labs he cooks at and is frequently doing dumb stuff and almost getting caught by normal intelligence police every few scenes haha.
@@seansmith877 Fair point your bring up and i agree with you on the latter half, but your using a dead man for your point, tuco wouldnt be a valid target someone else you could use is jesse pinkman
I loved the analysis on both the characters shown with it (yes including columbo), really summarizes why people enjoy this matchup even if I think its not as much a shitstomp as people say it is. But god I want to see that intro animation finished so much unironically, it felt like an actual death battle animation and I have to give kudos to this video for not only the great analysis but the 10/10 tier animation that captures the series tones, and a death battle tone for it. Can totally see it going down the more methodical debate, shouting and intelligence ramble route even with that intro animation having a bit of fisticuffs in it.
God damn, you cooked! If you ever plan on doing more of these animation commissions in the future, I’d be happy to voice for them! I actually have some experience with voicing for versus before
The connections between Walter and Light are: Two villain protagonists who start off as regular citizens with incredible minds before later coming across power which they intended to use for good (Walter started making meth to help raise money for his family and Light uses the Death Note to kill criminals) Said power would soon turn them into one of the most feared criminals of their city Both would soon go under a new alias for their newfound crime breaking egos (Heisenberg and Kira) They are also accompanied by someone who gets manipulated into helping them out (Jesse Pinkman and Misa Amane) Both do however have to be careful of those who are trying to put an end to their reign of terror by their own family member who is leading the case of finding their identity (Hank Schrader and Soichiro Yagami) and someone who's always ahead of them and put stress towards them (Gustavo Fring and L Lawliet) In the end, both would soon die by either succeeding or losing (Walter won before dying while Light ended up losing)
This NEEDS to happen. I'm considering getting into both Breaking Bad and Death Note just to try and come up with a fight script because I want to see it happen that badly
Great video. Also, if you think about it, Columbo instantly has a disadvantage because he’s a well known detective who uses his real name. However, Walter White commits his crimes under the name Heisenberg.
I keep seeing people say Light vs Walter is a stomp, but Light vs Columbo is an even bigger stomp in Light's favor. The main appeal of the MU is seeing Light get humbled, but that wouldn't be the correct result. Light is not a typical one-off Columbo villain. At his most powerful, he's a shadow dictator.
Which is why it'll be more fun if Light was at a relatively disadvantageous position. If he was aware enough of the Heisenberg situation, he's got plenty of options. A: "To W.W. my star, my perfect silence", which would be a catalyst into discovering his true name, and B: the people Walter is in active cahoots with. Light killed a shit load of International Agents because he tricked CIA private eye to write on the death note. If he held Jesse or even Saul hostage, he can urk them to write Heisenberg's true identity on those DN pages. Walter would have to weasel any hint of "Kira" and where he could be operating from and get his cronies to throw one wild attack after another hoping they hit the right guy. Even if he knew full well who Gus was and his constant confrontations, it took him 2 seasons of failed planning and "artificially extending his own lifespan" to successfully get the hit on him. If he can rally the criminal underground to recognize Kira as a serious threat, he'd have some added security, but other than that, he's dealing with a borderline Lovecraftian hitman with a weapon more impactful and ten times more precise than the atom bomb. If he had to be fully aware of Kira's capabilities, he'd be batshit paranoid over any loose ends that can tie his persona to his true identity. I think a good scenario would be Light travelling abroad as "L" to get knowledge on American crime and spread the Kira gospel overseas, while Walter White has reached into his early Season 5 self as kingpin. The whole process of them slowly becoming aware of the other's presence and waging an underground war in New Mexico could be worthy fanfiction in itself.
I mean, the reason for why Columbo is thought to be a good matchup is because he gets compared to L. If Columbo was a better detective than L or even Near, then he would probably win against Light. Well, I think he is! Columbo has some pretty impressive feats if you ask me. He only loses to Light due to a lack of resources, but if we gave him Near's team, it's an easy win, right?
OK OK hear me out, Columbo VS Conan (Detective Conan/Cased Closed). However instead of a fight to the death, they are competing to see who can solve a murder. A Death Battle technically
I just realized a big theme for this MU would be how Walter is a villain with a big heart meanwhile Light is a villain with no heart, yet Light is objectively a better person than Walt
My dream fight would be Light Yagami vs Jigsaw. Both have similar motives to make the world a better place but with a twisted moral. A desire to fix the world even if death is necessary. Both have apprentices to help carry out there plans. Both have outsmarted some of the best detectives in there respected universes. This is where few the discord would be. Light Yagami kills with ZERO remorse, while jigsaw hates murderers and that he gives his victims a chance. The battle would be similar to this with a battle of morality and manipulation. I imagine a story line where Light sees John Kramer as a good person with his methods being unorthodox but effective, while John Kramer, hating murderers, wants to expose Kira to the world. In doing that, trying to track down and find out Light is Kira and putting him through a game to expose him to the world or die. While Light would try to survive his games in any way he can. THAT, would be so epic.
I do kinda get this matchup.. but a part of me prefers Walt to have a more grounded matchup ala vs Tony Soprano or Scarface.. however I’m a super fan of Light vs Columbo but I’d be down for seeing Light vs Walter someday
Two very different characters Yet individuals who are consumed by their ego and pride The only difference is, in my opinion, is that Walter is more chaotic and more extreme in his methods (he poisoned a kid, just to gaslight a partner that was about to kill him)
FANTASTIC video explaining EXACTLY why I’d love this matchup over any other alternatives. And the animation… that’s another story. Props to the animator for starts.
The problem i think is that death battles are usually short and snappy. I feel something like this would require more than like 5 minutes to pull off well
But what about Light vs. Heisenberg vs. Columbo? Let all of them fight, Light and Heisenberg have to kill the other two while Columbo needs to catch them both. That would make an interesting Death Battle episode imho. The question is who could come up with the perfect plan to outsmart everybody?
Sad I missed this live but I’ll be watching this later Just finished it, really good takes, changed my opinion on the matchup (even if I still prefer Light VS Columbo). This is your perfect cook.
Animation would’ve been better if Walter used his cool grey matter made mech suit against shinigami light tbh… But on a real note I adore the beginning animation, both va’s where exceptional as was the dialogue which felt right at home for both too say and showed the moral difference between kira and Heisenberg The entire analysis of the theme and such is also great and I agree with pretty much everything said here (I also think the stomp point is dumb because… I don’t view the mu as a stomp but yeah) I’ve been into Walter vs light for 3 years and it’s stuck in my top 20 for a long time my love of both characters and the incredible animation and banter have always captivated me and its long city wide intellect fight leading to them eventually meeting in person like in the animation where they finally have a physical conflict is great and while it’ll probably never happen… doesn’t mean my love of this incredible battle of wits between two of my favourite characters in fiction will end And uhhh just one more thing… Keep up the exceptional work and have a great day #SaveDeathbattle
I agree, I think they might actually do this due to it having more potential for story and doing something different. Like how they didn’t like Omni-lander and preferred homelander vs bardock, but still did the one that gave them the better story and character potential
I want to think Kira , on his way to " Godhood" Eould start to mess with " Heisenberg" business. Only to find out that Heisenberg is not his real name Walter White would be baffled as he is a scientist , so trying to grasp his mind about how this magic mumbo jumbo even works , so it would be interesting to see how Walter white Baits Kira just like L did
The best way to illustrate this fight it would be an analogous horror in the style of mr manticore that showcase how they conflict starts and evolve, slowly turning unto a normal animation in the final confrontation between kira and walter.

This video is so peak, the animation at the beginning was beautiful too. I also find it sorta weird that people think that Light stomps Walt. But yeah, Phenomenal Video #SaveDEATHBATTLE!
"Do we still doubt the writers of Death Battle?" Me:.... Kinda. But that aside, as someone who's never seen either show, I'll admit I'm curious about this MU a little, and that animation was good.
That’s a can of worms for another video essay. But in general, I agree. Sort of like how lots of money amplifies and reveals your most truthful character traits.
I’ve considered pitching Light vs. White, as I donated to the Kickstarter and could pitch it to them in my call. I just haven’t decided if that’s what I want to do yet.
Great video and the animation was amazing, although Light screaming like a maniac is kinda a bit out of character for him. I would have preferred if it went more in depth on the potential in detail, with some story ideas, as well as the setup, but still great. I actually planned to do something similar with a matchup I would call perfect, Hannibal Lecter VS Johan Liebert (another intelligence-based MU), although I don't know when I will get to that. Overall, an extremely well made vid, that summarizes the matchup pretty well. Also for everyone, the credits for the TN at 7:27 don't go to me, but to WTFBOOOMSH.
Out of character? That's literally how Light went out at the end of the series when he was cornered. He's a deranged narcissist who lost it when things didn't go his way.

Walter: What? How do yo..... -Hearts stop
-Walter falls to the ground, in the same position he fell at the end of the show, looking up with his lifeless eyes
Light approaches is dead body with a smile, and watches Walter slowly closing his eyes.
It would be better if as Walter falls, his gun goes off, killing Light as they fall perfectly perpendicularly from each other, mimicking the ending to Breaking Bad
@@liammcgill5270 This would also be an interesting ending, even though I don't want this fight to be a draw, I liked this ending
I'd add an evil laugh to Light as well
@@johnpett1955 >:D
This is amazing.
holy fucking peak.
Died by your hand?”
The same thing can be said about Walt, but as usual, he’s projecting it onto someone else.
Remember that White is a massive gaslighting hypocrite.
I thought that line was perfect because he always act as if he's on the high road out, as if he's always right or that he's always better despite doing the very worst things.
It's actually perfect for walt, He always tries to take the moral high ground despite having an ulterior motive
The creativity alone they could bring with this is nothing short of fascinating,
thematically it's kinda like an... intelligence-flavored Vader VS Obito, and thats my fav episode of all time so even better :D
Glad to hear I swayed you!
It definitely sounds Meme-y at first, especially when I first heard it, but after I thought about it for more than 10 minutes going back and forth on who might win, it really sold me on it and I’ve been an advocate ever since.
It also got me into THREE amazing shows, and I’m really grateful for that.
as much as i love light vs columbo(to the point where i might like it more than light vs walter) youve convinced me on how interesting this would be as an episode as well as a matchup as a whole, especially with how much i love more grounded matchups
crazy how culmbo vs light is actually gonna happen now
“We cannot… escape… Columbo.”
It is?
As i said in the live chat, my preferred for Light is Kristoph Gavin from Ace Attorney, but mostly from my own personal bias (as much as i think it is underrated)
I think you did a fantastic job on selling this matchup, the animation looks clean, the music is awesome and you got a new subscriber :D

To be perfectly honest, I think your average Death Battle fan would rather have a traditional clash of power and fisticuffs over anything too brainy.
Also, Light vs. Heisenburg would be a fascinating matchup, but IMO... Light vs. Jigsaw tho.
Lol, that's what I'm saying. While this video did sell me on Light White, I prefer John for Light instead.
Death battle fan since the beginning, don't know wtf you're talking about. I'd love to see a death battle like this, one with time jumps over the course of months of investigating, manipulation, and bribery.
Walt vs light would be more fair tho. Jigsaw absolutely stomps light in terms of intelligence
@@montymorrion1357 plus there are more interesting fights for jigsaw. I personally think Johan Liebert from the anime Monster would be a far more interesting matchup.
@montymorrion1357 eh respectfully disagree on John stomping Light in terms of intellect honestly I think Light is the smarter of the 2
I mean if you extend the fight a little bit you could fit some fisticuffs in there after the heist, just make a longer animation into a mini-episode of either show and shorten the rundown.
That sounds awesome does it have a specific title?
@@kannakamui2334It's just Light Yagami vs Walter White on the Death Battle fanon wiki. The one where fan made DBs get written. No fancy title.
Gotta say, you gave me a much greater appreciation for this match up than before, and I understand why Columbo wouldn't be as compelling. Also holy cow was that animation sick!
OMG that Light Yagami voice is perfect! #SaveDEATHBATTLE
You do not know how much I want to see the full version of that fight? I hope we one day get to see a full version done.
Dear god that opening animation was so PEAK
light vs white is such a good name for the matchup
I love calling it that. It rolls off the tongue so well.
That intro was amazing holy moly. Good job to the voice actors
You hyped me up by 1,000% by making me think this was gonna be an 8 minute animation of these two throwing hands, but this ended being exactly what I thought it was going to be.
I hope that’s a good thing, because we all worked our asses off on this and I’m very proud of how it turned out.
@@levitation5271 It absolutely is a good thing, the animation was DOPE!!! but I clicked on the video wanting and expecting a breakdown of how a death match between these two would look like, and that's what I got. I enjoyed the video so I left it a like, really, good job 👍

GOD DAMN. Great video.
I loved that animation so damn much, im so happy that even if we never get an episode from this, we got one of the best pieces of media that came out from this community if not the best
I love u Levi! In a totally normal way that a totally normal fan would
Let me pitch this.
If Light wins against Walter White, then there can be a sequel for it where we finally see Columbo vs. Light Yagami.
who did light`s voice acting? CUZ ITS SO FUCKING GOOD HOLY SHIT🔥🔥🔥
That’d be Jayce Ghoul!
After many incomprehensibly powerful characters, I down for to see more normal-ish humans come to Death Battle.
What a fun video!
While i still prefer Columbo since it seems like less of a hassle to set up in an animation. That fan preview was really sick. Also really appreciate the narration you provide here
Okkkk, now I'm interested of seeing this death battle..
@@ronathan02 This does bring up a interesting scenario of how does this battle works exxxactly
Would this battle work with all the investigation that was done on them or is it done without that invesitgation stuff that had been done before, so no L and no police investigations
Also we need to consider the fact that Light is the #1 suspect, the fact that they even are being considered them would have them be put on walters radar, and he would consider trying to do a assassination on them, at least with the labstuff stolen it isnt a massive target on you like being *#1 SUSPECT*
@@seansmith877 Fair point your bring up and i agree with you on the latter half, but your using a dead man for your point, tuco wouldnt be a valid target

You legitimately had me fooled from that opening; I honestly thought this was going to be a real episode
If it can't be a death battle, it should be a ERB
Would actually go hard given their egos
This goes so hard
No we need this now, I want this fight so badly now xD
this battle comes down to whenever light is able write down walter's name. or die trying
The connections between Walter and Light are:
Two villain protagonists who start off as regular citizens with incredible minds before later coming across power which they intended to use for good (Walter started making meth to help raise money for his family and Light uses the Death Note to kill criminals)
Said power would soon turn them into one of the most feared criminals of their city
Both would soon go under a new alias for their newfound crime breaking egos (Heisenberg and Kira)
They are also accompanied by someone who gets manipulated into helping them out (Jesse Pinkman and Misa Amane)
Both do however have to be careful of those who are trying to put an end to their reign of terror by their own family member who is leading the case of finding their identity (Hank Schrader and Soichiro Yagami) and someone who's always ahead of them and put stress towards them (Gustavo Fring and L Lawliet)
In the end, both would soon die by either succeeding or losing (Walter won before dying while Light ended up losing)
Both also had massive egos that were detrimental to their mission
This NEEDS to happen.
I'm considering getting into both Breaking Bad and Death Note just to try and come up with a fight script because I want to see it happen that badly
Animation at the start is peak
Great video. Also, if you think about it, Columbo instantly has a disadvantage because he’s a well known detective who uses his real name. However, Walter White commits his crimes under the name Heisenberg.
The death note needs a first name too you know
@@Agent-jm9nl Oh yeah. Still, all Kira needs is one police file or person to say his first name then he’s dead.
@Necroman-mi9oc Oh… still Walter White is a more interesting choice.
@@insectostrich4407 Which has never happened on the show once. The guy's a borderline SCP.
I Think This Video Just Convinced me why it is a good match up
I keep seeing people say Light vs Walter is a stomp, but Light vs Columbo is an even bigger stomp in Light's favor. The main appeal of the MU is seeing Light get humbled, but that wouldn't be the correct result. Light is not a typical one-off Columbo villain. At his most powerful, he's a shadow dictator.
Exactly.

Niiiice, that was a banger
OK OK hear me out, Columbo VS Conan (Detective Conan/Cased Closed). However instead of a fight to the death, they are competing to see who can solve a murder. A Death Battle technically
My dream battle

Light:nah ima be ballin whenever I want
Walter white:then you die ballin gun shot

I love both ideas
I would like to see an interaction where light writes “heisenberg” in the book but nothing happens
I just realized a big theme for this MU would be how Walter is a villain with a big heart meanwhile Light is a villain with no heart, yet Light is objectively a better person than Walt
I think it’s hard to make a case for either of these characters being “good people.”
@@levitation5271 In comparison since Light was a vigilante meanwhile Walt was exactly what Light hated
Two very different characters
Yet individuals who are consumed by their ego and pride
The only difference is, in my opinion, is that Walter is more chaotic and more extreme in his methods (he poisoned a kid, just to gaslight a partner that was about to kill him)
People say Walt gets stomped yet he is gonna be in Multiversus therefor Superman scaling and Bryan Cranston Solos fiction
FANTASTIC video explaining EXACTLY why I’d love this matchup over any other alternatives.
And the animation… that’s another story. Props to the animator for starts.
The problem i think is that death battles are usually short and snappy. I feel something like this would require more than like 5 minutes to pull off well

The best part about the animation was that it somehow made Jump Force Light not completely hideous
But what about Light vs. Heisenberg vs. Columbo? Let all of them fight, Light and Heisenberg have to kill the other two while Columbo needs to catch them both. That would make an interesting Death Battle episode imho. The question is who could come up with the perfect plan to outsmart everybody?

Animation would’ve been better if Walter used his cool grey matter made mech suit against shinigami light tbh…
But on a real note I adore the beginning animation, both va’s where exceptional as was the dialogue which felt right at home for both too say and showed the moral difference between kira and Heisenberg
The entire analysis of the theme and such is also great and I agree with pretty much everything said here (I also think the stomp point is dumb because… I don’t view the mu as a stomp but yeah)
I’ve been into Walter vs light for 3 years and it’s stuck in my top 20 for a long time my love of both characters and the incredible animation and banter have always captivated me and its long city wide intellect fight leading to them eventually meeting in person like in the animation where they finally have a physical conflict is great and while it’ll probably never happen… doesn’t mean my love of this incredible battle of wits between two of my favourite characters in fiction will end
And uhhh just one more thing… Keep up the exceptional work and have a great day #SaveDeathbattle
I agree, I think they might actually do this due to it having more potential for story and doing something different. Like how they didn’t like Omni-lander and preferred homelander vs bardock, but still did the one that gave them the better story and character potential
Matpat vs Columbo
Edgy kid vs teacher. I like it.
This wouldn’t be a fun 2 minute death battle, but like a season long mental battle of wits with each other.
My Grandmother used to say those walk the path of heaven will rule over all
Heisenburg vs kira
I want to think Kira , on his way to " Godhood" Eould start to mess with " Heisenberg" business.
Only to find out that Heisenberg is not his real name
Walter White would be baffled as he is a scientist , so trying to grasp his mind about how this magic mumbo jumbo even works , so it would be interesting to see how Walter white Baits Kira just like L did
The best way to illustrate this fight it would be an analogous horror in the style of mr manticore that showcase how they conflict starts and evolve, slowly turning unto a normal animation in the final confrontation between kira and walter.
