While we are mostly John Deere Farm, we do have a few Case Ih and Red pieces of farm equipment around. Our John Deere 9570rt Tractor and Case 875 Ripper have been working hard throughout the fall, however, stuff breaks down so we took the day to mend it back together. - บันเทิง
Hi Carson and you're Dad. Greetings from the state of Victoria, Australia.
Hi Carson, thanks for the video. You and your dad sure have lots of fun working together. Man, I'm sure that equipment takes a lot of abuse, but you would think they would make it strong enough you wouldn't have to replace a bunch of broken bolts like that. Love your crescent wrench story! Anyway, hope college is going well, thanks for when you can capture the videos for us. Stay safe and healthy Carson, your dad too!
One way to keep track of needed and completed repairs and maintenance on the various pieces of equipment would be to have a word document for each piece. Then just update it as needed when work is done to it. I would also think this would increase the resale value of them, as potential buyers would be able to see that the required maintenance has been completed. You could also group them into folders such as; tractors, tillage, harvest etc.
It’s a great idea! I have always wanted to do something similar but our problem is that we currently have 8 active member’s on our farming operation and about 5 of them wouldn’t bother to update it
@@6thGenFarmer If you have room, a large white board would be another idea, then you could update the word documents. Also the first few pages of the word douc could be fluid types and quantities, plus frequently used parts and filters.
The bolt length at the pivot points does seem excessive. That being said, you don't want the bolts so tight that the ears are pinching the center piece. If the bolts were "snug" on the ears that should keep them from turning in the ears and wearing out the ears and bolt shoulders. Even larger bolts, normally have the same head and nut size.
Yep fixing things when you don’t need them is way better than scrambling for parts when you do.
Agreed!!
And the supply shortage is only getting worse. Better to fix things now then not be able to next Spring
Yeah I like that idea, just parts are more expensive in season it seems or even December in our area March when big discounts are
That was funny when you where checking whether the camera was framed right. Video comes first. We need to see what's happening. :)
😂😂
Check the parts diagram for called for bolt size
I sure enjoy watching your life on the farm but I do have a suggestion. If you were flying a helicopter rather than red and green farms combines you would be absolutely dedicated to checking for the results of vibration. Helicopters vibrate like crazy and when something breaks due to vibration the helicopter falls out of the sky. There just must be safety wire available for bolt heads that you're not using or at least there should be. Check it out.
We haven’t had that problem with our 875. Maybe you just need red to pull it and things won’t break. It’s like red is holding a grudge! Lol
You should check to see if the bolts have a half inch of play in yours and report back to me😂
The red ones don’t have enough power to break anything. So yeah, you have a point.
9:08 ; three lines means grade 5. I would think grade 8, would be a much better choice for that application.
I’m engineering the radio coverage for SD State women’s basketball game against Louisville at the Battle 4 Atlantis. Thought of you.
I'm thinking who ever put it together didn't give a crap. Never heard of them issues with any 870s or 875s in my area of east central il
I wonder if those bolts were supposed to have washers
I am wondering the same thing...
Anything over size 15/16 or 24mm is pretty much the same size wrench I believe
Massey fregson is the ticket
Dumb question…. Do they make tillage equipment? The old Massey stuff I think is really cool but never been a fan of the new stuff. We have a Massey tractor at college and I’m not impressed with it
@@6thGenFarmer its all badge sunflower stuff
@@allenwalters9068 Ahh. Didn't know that. We actually have a sunflower disc😂
Log book
looks like the metal in the bolts is to soft.
Get a green ripper if you think it’s junk
You know that Red color thing is like a Ford owner thing . Lol
I bet it was COVID and supply issues :)
