As someone who was born in Petoskey and grew up in northern Michigan. It’s so cool to see new people come to this area and enjoy it. Northern Michigan is awesome!
Petoskey checking in as well. My family lives in Alanson and works in Petoskey. I live in Nashville now but I miss it. Can’t wait to be back home next weekend for my birthday. I’m super excited to get some fresh, clean air and get out of the Music City rat race
Hubby and I visited Michigan for the first time in September. Visited all the places shown in your video. Loved Michigan so much we are moving to Frankenmuth as soon as we sell our house in California!
That’s awesome Kris! Michigan has A LOT to offer! It’ll be awesome to hear some of your favorite spots after living there for a bit! All the best, cheers!
You will fit in well in Frankenmuth, being from California. Rich arrogant people. I grew up 7 miles from Frankenmuth. No wonder our state is getting more liberal!
West coast of Michigan is beautiful! I lived to east all my life. “Pure Michigan” - the fresh brisk air and the clean Great Lakes - beautiful place to see
What was the name of the ski resort in Traverse City? I’m not sure it’s still there. I used to ski there in the 80s. I remember a beautiful view of the bay when you were on the chairlift.
@@windermere2330 You must be thinking of Mt Holiday, I don't know what the view was like from the top of Timber Lee as that closed down before I was old enough for skiing.
As a native Michigander, it's pretty cool to see someone else realize what we all love about Michigan. However, it makes me nervous that the secret is getting out!
Always so cool to see someone who realizes how beautiful it is “Up North”! Lifelong Michigander, got married in Harbor last June, probably right about when you were there!

So Cool you visited my hometown of Harbor Springs! So much exploring and fun family things to do in our Local Area; all the fresh water you can handle, and 4 Seasons worth of Fun!
I was born & raised in Michigan. Michigan’s name is derived from the Ojibwe word meaning “large water”. Michigan boasts the world’s biggest FRESHWATER shoreline. Percentage wise, Michigan ranks as the #1 state with 41.5% of its total area occupied by freshwater. Michigan has more than 64,980 inland lakes and ponds. Michigan is also the only state in the U.S. that consists of two (2) peninsulas, the upper & lower peninsulas. I have no desire to live anywhere else! LOVE “The Mitten” ✋🏼and GO BLUE! 💙💛💙💛
I live near Gaylord, MI now, and grew up in the thumb. MI girl my whole life, and can't imagine living anywhere else. I love it here. So much fun seeing others enjoy the beauty of the state.
Growing up in southeast Michigan and spending many summers in that area, it's fun to see a "travel vlog" view of it. There are so many other cool things you guys can see if you go back. Michigan is truly one of the most beautiful states in the country and was the central point driving the revolutionary war because of the abundance of natural resources and was highly coveted by the British colonial interests. The indigenous history is much deeper than people realize, and covered the region now Ontario and down the Mississippi River shoreline, as water travel was the primary mode of commercial trading access then. This area is still secretly coveted by international colonial interests, the fresh water being considered a world resource. Praying that it stays "pure Michigan."
Absolutely LOVED your video. You guys are the funniest duo. Seem like ya'll would be a blast to hang with! Next time you visit check out Pentwater & the surrounding little towns! In the winter it's jaw dropping. You get to see Lake Michigan with the waves, and it really looks like the ocean!
Thank you for making me appreciate my town and the beauty more .. I'm sitting on my deck staring at the lake remembering how lucky we are to live here .. I just wish I would have known that growing up because I took it for granted!!❤🙏
lived in Michigan for 42 years , still go back all the time and see family. once you get north of bay city area, it's the most gorgeous place you can be . once you get over the bridge , it's even better . I spent all my summers and some winters up north and we may buy property up there in the next couple years again and live there 3 seasons
As I was saying...anyone will absolutely love our state for a Summer vacation. Hey guys. It’s that time again. Come on back to Petoskey. Have a Petoskey Stone Martini at Bay View Inn some Cedar Plank Whitefish and an Awesome view of the “Ocean” 💜✨🌙💕👍🏼
As a lifelong resident( Grand Rapids)..I'm SO proud of my state and what it offers. The view from Sleeping Bear Dunes overlook is so breathtaking. Next closest thing is view of Pacific from Pacific Coast Hwy. I've seen em' both.
This is my home state and I love it. It is an amazing State and it always gets such a bad rap. Glad you enjoyed your time here. And by the way, Lake Superior is technically an inland sea, is what I'm told
Well, the southern part of the state is pretty much just northern, boring, Indiana, and the south eastern part of the state has some of the worst roads in the country. So that's all everyone thinks about when they hear "Michigan". But, it truly is magnificent. What a beautiful place.
Thank you so much for this cool video of my home state and stomping grounds. We truly do have exquisite beauty here - a true hidden gem! Looking forward to following your future adventures.
One day you need to drive up M-22 in Michigan to leelanau peninsula, and check out Fishtown, and Sleeping Bear Dunes. GORGEOUS DRIVE the whole way. ❤️🥰🥰
Check out Southwestern Michigan! Beautiful beaches, quaint towns, wineries, breweries, fishing, fruit belt. Close to Notre Dame, Chicago, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo. Has made it in travel magazines. Nice community. People flock here in the summer to enjoy its beauty.
Southwest Lake shore has some beautiful places, try following blue star hwy, Grand Haven down to St Joe. There's great camping, food, etc rope swings on the rivers...if you're tubing or kayaking
Michigan is my home state and I can’t say enough good things about it. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful places in my life, and, for me, Northern Michigan is one of the best. And, despite what some “snow birds” may think. (Nothing a gain at Snow Birds. Have a few in my family), there isn’t a bad season. Winter, Fall and Spring are just as special as summer and I would never want to live somewhere that didn’t have true seasons. The upper peninsula is special too, as is the West and East Coasts. I lived in Detroit for almost a decade and I could rhapsodize about how cool that city is and all the great things to do, see and eat. I didn’t realize Michigan had a “bad rap” because I’ve never met anyone who’d actually spent time there that didn’t love it. The Great Lakes really do feel like Oceans. Next time go kayaking in Lake Superior and see the Pictured Rocks.
Found your channel after my wife and I just picked up our first travel trailer... with our now 8 week old baby girl. We havent had it out yet but we have a test run in two weeks at a local COE campground. Wife and I enjoy your videos during dinner time.

My dad grew up in Harbor Springs. That was in the mid 40s and 50s. We visited in the early 80s, and my wife and I visited there again in 2018. It is very different now than it was when my father was young!
You were recommended to us from a friend today and so glad! We are gearing up to hit the road full-time this week. Love your vlog. New subscribers and friends! 💕❤️
I’ve lived in MI my whole life and it’s so fun to experience these places through your eyes!! We don’t realize how fortunate we are here :) Oh! And all my friends from out of state always say “ocean” instead. It is quite shocking that the Great Lakes are so huge!
They are!! So massive they move like an ocean, and so clear too! Michigan has definitely been one of our favorite states so far, would love to go back again! 🙌🏽
I always call the Great Lakes the Seas Of Michigan. If you can’t see the perimeter, and it’s blue waters, I classify it as an ocean 😂 Stclair is so crystal clear and blue, as most of the Great Lakes are too. Glad I live here
When you camped at Holiday Park in Traverse City, you camped on my parents lot. My family actually owns that lot and the lot next door! I was fortunate enough to be able to live there during the summers growing up! You were able to stay on one of the best lots at Holiday Park! It sounds like you enjoyed Northern Michigan!
Yo!!! Just wanted to say… New subscriber here ✋Love y’all’s channel, love your humor, your vibes… just love it all. Been catching up on some of your videos… saw one the other day, loved it when you posted a few clips from Tropic Thunder 😂. But damn!!! Y’all outdid yourself on this one with a clip from The Big Blue!!!! 😅 Hells yeh 🤙🏽
Friend of mine owns Holiday park campground such a great little place close to town! I’ve lived in TC for 30 years and I I love my state but I’m tired of the long dark, cold winters and heading to Florida end of this year full time. Enjoyed the video and enjoy your travels!
Before my husband passed, we visited Glen arbor, we drove to the beach and had a picnic on the tailgate of our truck and enjoyed the million dollar view! I always say it was one of the best meals I ever had, and proof you don't need a lot of money to enjoy a exclusive/expensive vacation area!
Great video! Your site looks so sweet! We didn't do Charlovoix--the mushroom houses looks soooo like a hobbit sire kinda thing....we WILL return to see more of Michigan for sure. Funny, we were at the same cidery. And YES...we kept expecting salt on our lips on the shore, crazy right? Hope y'all are making it back to CA safe. Dave and Lorrie
Hey, any place we “skip” or have to travel more quickly always gives us an excuse to go back 😉 Definitely do Charlevoix next time - it was so charming! Thanks Dave and Lorrie for your comment!! Where are you guys now? Did you go back to VA or make any last minute trips?
@@ONWorldTravel We did get back to VA. It was a brief but really good visit with family and friends and now we are in FL doing a volunteer position till the end of Dec. Not sure if we'll go stir crazy or not yet🤣. Once you're used to moving all the time it seems odd not to.
My friend and I went through the same cities on our way north this summer. Outstanding views! But it's too bad you didn't go to the top of michigan, copper harbor in the u.p.! Bigger lake (or oceans lol) and mountains. Thanks for sharing your trip. Best wishes from Michigan.
I know…we really wanted to go up to the UP but knew we would be cutting it close to try and make it back to California before winter 🥶 we’ll definitely have to do it on our next loop! Thanks for supporting Gary!! 🙌🏽
Lived in Charlevoix in the 70's. I think it snowed every day in the winter from lake effect but it was the place to be. That whole end of the state was the place to be. If I could only afford to go back I sure miss it.
A few weeks ago I was searching for info about Marfa, TX and came across your videos...since then I’ve binged most of your videos. Lol. And maybe I’m just speaking for myself here (highly doubt it) when I say your videos could easily be 25 or 30 minutes long. Like at the end of a 10 minute video I’m left of the feeling of...give me more! Lol!
Hey Shelby! We’re stoked you found us 😃 are you planning a trip to Marfa soon? Haha we’re working on longer vids. We’ve been getting that lately and we’re trying to boost our production time while traveling lol happy to hear you enjoy them! Thanks for your support 🙏🏼
Head to the UP next time :) We have a lot of treasures up here. Lake of the Clouds, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Kitchitikipi, Copper Country, Downtown Marquette and the lakeshore, Porcupine Mountains…it’s beautiful up here
Just happens this is where I grew up, Funny how as a child you want nothing more than to get away from where you grew up. As I age I become more and more aware of how spectacular this part of the country is. Thanks Great Great Grandpa Jake for taking the wrong train and ending up in Northern Michigan instead of northern Nebraska.
MICHIGAN!!!!!! I loves peoples reaction when they first see the Big Lake (Lake Michigan). Most of the times they are just looking at a small bay and my even the lake yet!!
My wife and I have a second home in the Petoskey area. It's our favorite place in the world. We are doing the opposite of what most people do. Most people retire and move south. When we retire we are moving north! But we'll still leave in the winters lol.
I live here and sometimes I forget that oceans are saltwater so when I visit other places and I open my eyes underwater salt water gets in but I’m not used to that because I’m used to the Great Lakes
Hey Jamie! Nathan does all the booking - he google searches, looks through heaps of reviews, reads blogs, etc. We need to make a video on how he does it actually. It’s pretty intense but he loves to research and find “the best.” Do you use an app??
@@ONWorldTravel thanks - was hoping there was an app. We don’t full time but we did spend a month on the road and used all KOA’s accept one we found in CA that had a nice website so we booked it and when we arrived it was all permanent campers and was pretty junky and scary feeling! Ha

Glad to see that you hit all the high dollar areas!
It’s a wealthy area no doubt, really enjoyed those mushrooms homes in Charlevoix! Cheers Rodney!
I'm going to Charlevoix next week. It's awesome there. Vanitian festival.
I live downstate in Michigan North of Detroit but you went to all my favorite places to go
Just found your channel… LOVE!
Y’all are so good, professional, interesting and funny to watch!
New sub !
Ah yes! Happy you found us Susan. Thank you 🙏🏼 we appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment!
Friend of mine owns Holiday park campground such a great little place close to town! I’ve lived in TC for 30 years and I I love my state but I’m tired of the long dark, cold winters and heading to Florida end of this year full time. Enjoyed the video and enjoy your travels!
Ugh 😩 this made me so very homesick!
Haha it’s such a beautiful place! Cheers, thanks for watching!
Charlevoix's Library (converted Jr High) is stunning if you need something to do on a rainy day while in town.
Good to know Mark, thanks for sharing! We’ll check it out next time around! 👍🏽
So lucky this is my state! I’ve traveled everywhere, lived in other states, but there’s nothing like the mitten state.
Need to be in Boyne city, Michigan & Charlevoix, Michigan during Boyne Thunder ! you'd go nuts....
Stumbled on your channel. Love the content!
Love Charlevoix!!❤
Lived in Charlevoix in the 70's. I think it snowed every day in the winter from lake effect but it was the place to be. That whole end of the state was the place to be. If I could only afford to go back I sure miss it.
Humid and looooooong winters!
Honey I'm from South Alabama. Let's compare "humid". 😄
@@ONWorldTravel Yeah me and my husband are doing Austin, Marfa, and Big Bend National Park very soon.
Excited to see long videos in the future!! :)
Ya fun pair 😊 North from Traverse. Omena. Summer’s since i wuz a kid. Paradise 😍🙏😎
Just Started watching you guys from NOLA 👍 be safe~❤️
LOVE NOLA 🤟🏽 thank you!
It's a pretty area. My son and DIL live/work in Petoskey. But they also get snow up to your armpits, so there's that.
Michigan is a great state it's just the winters are long particularly anywhere north of flint
Head to the UP next time :) We have a lot of treasures up here. Lake of the Clouds, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Kitchitikipi, Copper Country, Downtown Marquette and the lakeshore, Porcupine Mountains…it’s beautiful up here
Glad you too enjoyed
Welcome to our beautiful state. 🚐🗺️🛟⛵️🚤🛥️🛖
Beautiful area. As a Wisconsinite, I feel like we got the short end of the Lake Michigan beauty stick.
lol...it's ok. Wisky is super cool.
Big blue is my favorite movie!
Always watch out for rip tides. They are very common on the west side, near Traverse City, Glen Arbor. Beautiful, but deadly.
I love my home state Michigan Summers❤️❤️ literally you have not lived if you have not experienced a MI summer!
So true Lynda! It's such a vibe!!
Totally gonna call it PaTOEski now thanks for visiting us!
That would be the south end of silver lake where your camper is. I lived for the longest time on the east-si-eed.
Yes Petoskey is a cute little town not anything to do but cute little town I love Northern Michigan
Great video
Which beach/lake is the one in the thumb nail/ @ the :40ish mark in the video??
Michigan is awesome.
True that Jani! 🙌🏽
Hey! I live in Petoskey! This is great
Just happens this is where I grew up, Funny how as a child you want nothing more than to get away from where you grew up. As I age I become more and more aware of how spectacular this part of the country is. Thanks Great Great Grandpa Jake for taking the wrong train and ending up in Northern Michigan instead of northern Nebraska.
I felt the same way growing up in Michigan. I left a few short times and now I'm in my 40s and totally in love with my home state.
MICHIGAN!!!!!! I loves peoples reaction when they first see the Big Lake (Lake Michigan). Most of the times they are just looking at a small bay and my even the lake yet!!
Hey Andre! It’s CRAZY how big it is. Kept calling it the ocean 😂 those waves and crystal clear blue water is still a wonder! Lol
@@ONWorldTravel big enough to have high and low tide and people surf when it's windy enough!!
My wife and I have a second home in the Petoskey area. It's our favorite place in the world. We are doing the opposite of what most people do. Most people retire and move south. When we retire we are moving north! But we'll still leave in the winters lol.
Did you go up M119 aka the tunnel of trees to Cross village and eat at Leggs Inn?
Here in Michigan we like to keep these gems hidden under 3 or 4 foot of snow 9 months of the year.
not
I live here and sometimes I forget that oceans are saltwater so when I visit other places and I open my eyes underwater salt water gets in but I’m not used to that because I’m used to the Great Lakes
We just got to the UP and might be overwhelmed with things to see 🤣
So jealous, we’re doing it next loop! All the best and enjoy!
This is beautiful
i have been to harbor springs and the highlands at harbor springs before. i am going there soon just so you know
Really appreciate your videos. Question - how do you find the RV parks you stay at? Are you using an app?
Ha
