things in Michigan fill up quick cuz we vacation in our own state, its so beautiful here we dont need to travel somewhere else, except for maybe Hawaii, or Key West.
I'm glad you're enjoying Michigan. A well kept secret when you don't have reservations the state and national forest campgrounds are hidden gems and you don't need reservations. As long as you're self contained they're great. Even when everything else it's full. We've been able to stay at some beautiful places.
lol me to haha i love seeing my state shown in such a beautiful way though thank you guys ive never even herd of that fishing village till now and ive been near it so many times.
Welcome to the Mitten!! There is so much coast line and forest to explore here. It's really a beautiful state to take a long vacation in, especially if you're from out of state. And there's still the Upper Peninsula, that has its own gems. Hope you enjoyed your visit.
The L.P. is way more cool stay down der with the trolls and stop pissin Anda pooing in me yooper waters. Nothing to see here folks stay with em trolls cause nothing to see in yooper nation.
Just returned from My brother and sister-in-law’s in Traverse City, always a fun trip. This visit we did the Empire Bluff Trail, walked out to the Frankfort North Breakwater Lighthouse and kayaked on Lake Crystal @ Beulah. Finished off the day biking around Boardman Lake and a brew at “The Filling Station Microbrewery in TC. There are a plethora of fun things to do “Up North” Michigan.
Welcome to Michigan! I'm in SW Michigan and LOVE Sleeping Bear Dunes! The summer weather has been interesting this year so I am glad you had a nice weather day at Sleeping Bear! Every time I read The Legend of Sleeping Bear Dunes to my class I cry! Enjoy!
Yeah, I did it when I was 18 years old and thought I was going to die when I finally got back up. Muscle failure and shaking, endorphins through the roof.
Really DOPE video, it's sad a lot of people in Michigan will never visit or see these areas but I'm glad you're documenting everything, enjoy our state 〽️
This Lansing gal is grateful she had "up-north" loving parents. Also my Dad's parents had a place halfway between Grayling and Kalkaska where we stayed a good share of the summer. Quite a few visits to the dunes💗💗💗

I’ve lived in Southeast Michigan my entire life and never knew about these hidden gems 🤯. I’m always traveling out of state, but definitely need to do more traveling within. Thanks for sharing!
West Michigan is beautiful. My college friends from the east side hate on Michigan then come to Grand Rapids and Traverse City and are surprised how beautiful our state is.
I lived in Michigan for 26 years and went to the dunes over 10 times and did not know that Pierce Stocking was an actual man who built the road. Thanks for that!
Pierce Stocking Drive and lookout /Sleeping Bear Dunes is one of my vary favorite places. The view from the very top is amazing and breathtaking. If you ever travel back to Michigan and get the chance to visit Frankfort, it is the most beautiful little beach town . You feel as though youre tucked away in a village town, surrounded by hilly lush areas and water . A beautiful beach and quaint shopping and eateries will greet you.
Hi! Stumbled upon your channel, wow! Loved it…I’m a born and bread Michigan girl living now on a 50 ft trawler on Lake Michigan all summer….loving that you loved the state!
Leland is a cool little town. We were there in 1997 in early June before school was out and my two boys and I fished that whole inlet area. We caught so many fish and had a blast catching small mouth bass, the salmon run was over. Picking blue Berrys is another fun thing to pick yourself and as a kid we ate more than we picked. They know everyone does it and they price it accordingly. Have fun seeing Michigan.
We are enjoying your Michigan tour, being natives of this amazing state! Just a side note, if you can’t find a state campground site, ALWAYS check county parks in the area you are visiting. There are many Beautiful county campgrounds all over our state!
Pure Michigan the best! The Sand Dunes trail to Lake Michigan is more tiring. You needed to visit Glen Arbor and the crystal lake there. You need to visit during Cherry Festival. Oh and Torch lake the Bomb. Did you see the Buffalos.
Can one say about Michigan weather? As a native, we take it in stride. Always pack jeans, sweater/ jacket/ sweatshirt, tennis shoes & socks. The Great Lakes generate their own weather system. We never know what Canada will send us either!! LOL.
I live over by the thumb....and used to vacation over by sleeping bear and the lakeshore about 20 years ago. It's a fantastic area and worth going at least once. I was able to climb to the top of the dunes last time I was there.
WOW!! Great job editing I really enjoyed the time the two of you spent in Northern Michigan, I've been blessed to have spent time visiting some beautiful places in Northern Michigan, with my sweetheart 💖continue to love and live life.
Thanks for showing how strenuous it was to get down to that beautiful spot. It takes 3 to 4 hours and that’s for a physically fit person such as yourself. You have to prepare yourself for that walk as it’s not only physically draining but mentally also.
Great video of the area. I grew up in Leelanau, and I used to fish on the other side of the dock in Leland as a boy. I remember when the pierce stocking drive was in a different location and you didn't have to pay to do anything in the National park like you have to today.
Was just there this past weekend 9/19/21, but being over 60b years old in human years, I didn't try climbing the dunes. I just found your channel today! Great Product ya'll ! I'm from NC and am very proud of our dunes, but had no idea WoW, those are some unbelievable dunes!
Glad you had a great time! And to anyone else wanting to try out americas High Five. bring a tube and enjoy a beautiful float down the Muskegon River, or go for a 2 night hike on the Manistee River Trail. Come to Gr and check out a sweet concert at one of our MANY music venues. Or check out DTGR. Take your shoes off and check out the gem Nordhouse beach trail, and rustic camp right on lake michigan.
Not only is our scenery very pretty, but,Michigan has probably the best State campground system in the nation. We also hundred of thousands of acres of Federal & State campgrounds., & hundreds of private campgrounds. Since we are a water state, all camp grounds are close to water sources( inland lakes, Great Lakes, rivers & waterfalls). Also since Michigan is app.75% wooded, most campgrounds have plentiful flora & fauna. People are down right friendly too.
Sleeping Bear Dunes is a beautiful area. We were there on a family trip a few weeks before you were. Great time of the year! But it gets busy! Another great area in Michigan is the Oscoda and Tawas area on the opposite side of the state, if you haven't been there. The drive along that side of the state goes all the way to Mackinac City. The drive west from Oscoda along the Au Sable has some great stops. Lumbermans Monument (with more sand dunes), Iargo Springs and some great canoeing and kayaking fun! And many places to camp with your RV.
Hell yeah, ive lived in michigan my whole life except for two years in alaska ( couldnt get home fast enough) and it is a beautiful state! Ive always been a peddle bikes distance from lake michigan if not living right on lake michigan my whole life…im very fortunate.
🍀great video - live in southern Ontario and sadly never explored Michigan other than a few trips to Detroit. This inspires me to get out of the city limits 😊
I just watched your Sawtooth Mt & LHS video. I’m camped just north of LHS and am going to go at 8am like suggested. But I’m glad you enjoyed my home state MI! It’s a beautiful peninsula!
Great video. We live about 20 minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes NP. If you're in the area in the future and need a place to camp for a few nights we have plenty of room on our property for your RV. Safe travels.
I live here in Michigan and always wondered why so many can and rv lifers go right around this state. It’s an amazing place and there’s not one other state that I’d rather live.
I loved that view so much it got me to go down.. Lol.. The climb was really strenuous and tiring though but it was challenging and fun.. Had a lot of laughs and fun afterward💕❤️ glad you enjoy yourself 😊
Yeah Michigan weather is always confused on what it wants to be any day of the week. :D Traverse City is great, Mari Vineyards is one of my favorite wineries. And Mama Lu's Taco's is an amazing place to eat !
Michigan weather is so unpredictable sometimes. It can be cold one day the next it could go up to 105. In the summer. Pending on where you are at. The sand dunes look cool. Glad you went down then and we’re able to come back up. Glad to have learned of the sleeping bear dunes. That’s a sad story. Yep I heard we had a cherry farm there. You looked like you had fun doing that. It was nice weather too! Your in Traverse City. Our friends used to own a fish market in Harbor Springs. They used to drive their fish up there to people there. Hope the weather got better for you. Michigan is a cool state to visit and live. Have a great week and see you soon! Can’t wait to see more video.
Thanks Sherri! Yes the weather has been amazing the last week or so. I would have loved to visit Harbor Springs. I would love to learn some history from the Odawa elders there. Best wishes to you for a great summer! Thank you for traveling with us! - Dennis
@@EatSeeRV No problem! Ya our friends their and fish market were all in one downstairs was their fish market and upstairs was where they lived. They crab and live lobster there. It was good. I used to watch them scale the fish that got brought in. It was cool to watch. Maybe you go back there at a later time. Thank goodness the weather had gotten got better. Have fun and see you soon!
I'm proud to say I've been to all of the places you've shown! That dune (the wall) is crazy high! The cherry wines are so delicious in the Traverse city area! I'm glad you showed Fish Town too!
Glad you enjoyed our State! As a resident of Leelanau Peninsula I can tell you you've found one of the best summer locations around. We recently retired from 4 years of full time travel and came back home, to Pure Michigan!
We've enjoyed your videos for a couple of years now . We're full timers also and are actually camped right now in the Traverse City State Park. Just visited Sleeping Bear Dunes yesterday. We'd love to meet up and say Hello. We particularly enjoyed your series in Mexico as we have traveled there but not in an RV. Let us know if you're still in the area.
I love traverse! But campgrounds by Sleeping Bear Dunes are so hard to get into! We love traveling up north and we booked our site for sleeping Bear dunes back in February for August Camping. Definitely a popular spot

We do have a gorgeous state! There are so many nice beach towns, especially on Lake Michigan. I love that the Great Lakes are like the ocean but fresh water. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else!
Great, have been to sleeping bear 🐻dunes many times but was never brave enough to go down the wall, it's a beautiful place, traverse city area has wonderful vineyards, travel safe
In Michigan it is very hard to get camping anywhere in a camp ground. People reserve year after year for spaces. Some of the unknown places will be easier though.
I hope you got to try morel mushrooms while you were there too...at least where I was from in Michigan morels where as big as cherries. I remember getting paid $20 (keep in mind it was late 90s) for one single white morel, I still got to eat half of it. They are so tasty all you need is butter to fry them up, no spices needed.
We live here in MI. We just got back from that area. I have to say to you, Great Content and Story Line, Photography, and Editing! You two are pro's! nice work!
I’ve been in that area a few years ago with a back packing trip to north manitue island and I went to sleeping bear dunes and went up and down the dunes and ran down them Really good trip
Wow, only 23 minutes to climb the mama bear dune! That's fantastic! I didn't even try that one. Just did the Dune Climb, and didn't do the whole trail to the lake.
You guys are adorable, “He brings me coffee every morning.” I think you are still honeymooners. I’m glad you also shared some of the difficult realities we find ourselves in, as you were having trouble finding a place to stay for a night or two. Camps are full these days. It takes a little preplanning doesn’t it?
Catching up, love the video. My daughter is 1 hour outside of Traverse City doing an internship this summer. Between her and your video, Michigan is definitely on our short travel list. We are from Georgia. ❤️
With the bear dunes, we guess what goes down must come up. 😀. We saw the dam candy store. Made us think of Vegas Vacation. Michigan looks like a cool place.
It was definitely tough but if I lived closer I would do that climb all the time! The water and Beach stones at the bottom we're so with it. Michigan summers are definitely moving up our must repeat list. - Dennis
@@EatSeeRV After watching your videos we have to agree with Michigan. We just never thought of Michigan as a "summer destination". Does seem pretty awesome.
Thank you for this helpful video! I LIVE in this region, but moved here during the pandemic. Your videos are covering great spots that were shut down, that we didn't even know about! I'm really looking forward to your Mackinac Island video, because we have not been there yet, either! (By the way, YOUR videos have enticed us to finally pull the trigger and buy a gently used Class C motorhome!) 💜💜💜
Oh my gosh this comment is great in so many ways. First off, CONGRATS on the class C! We're so glad you found us. Hope you enjoy exploring your area more!
@@EatSeeRV I'm glad you showed the self-service farm stands! I've been telling my friends that we get most of our produce directly from the farmers that grew it, instead of from grocery stores. I pass by 6 farms BEFORE I can even reach a grocery store! Northern Michigan is truly God's Country!
Across from the scenic drive is the dunes parking area. Not as steep but a great climb and you see lake Michigan and big and little glen lakes. Awesome!!
Beautiful we have never explored Mich. Waters look beautiful but Cold 🥶 lol Actually we have allot to explore in this country. I have traveled business & leisure outside the US more then i have within. But that started changing back in 2018.
If the water is too cold for you in Lake Michigan, go find one of the inland lakes. But as a Michigan native, I spent a lot of time playing in the waters of Lake Michigan. By mid-summer, the temperatures are usually comfortable, especially if you "get used to it."
As a Michigander. We are so happy you had a good time. We hope people were nice to you.
Pure Michigan! The Mitten state is AWESOME!!!!

Yayy thank you! Doing a work out today and will have you kicking my ass in spirit 😆
Wow! We love morel mushrooms but don't remember seeing a lot of them there at the time.
We live here in MI. We just got back from that area. I have to say to you, Great Content and Story Line, Photography, and Editing! You two are pro's! nice work!
This is one of my favorite places to go, and now my daughters ❤ are going there on their own too.
❤️Sleeping Bear Dunes & Michigan.
dont know if its still there, but a catching a movie at the Cherry Bowl drive in is good fun too
Aw thanks. We're not but that sounds like fun!
I just found your channel. You guys are living the dream!!
Thanks! We're living our dream! The cool thing is many others are too, if you like this lifestyle try to find a way to pursue it!
I’ve been in that area a few years ago with a back packing trip to north manitue island and I went to sleeping bear dunes and went up and down the dunes and ran down them
Really good trip
Wow, only 23 minutes to climb the mama bear dune! That's fantastic! I didn't even try that one. Just did the Dune Climb, and didn't do the whole trail to the lake.
Thank you 💪
Welcome to my backyard Glad you enjoyed the time here!
Being from the area, this video make's me proud to be from Michigan.
Best kept secret. Looks beautiful
OMG I love that you have your CATS!!
😻
FYI most Michigan cherries are tart cherries, best for baking and cooking.
Montmorency cherries are actually the most sought after cherries for pies and tarts.
Well you know, gotta keep the romance alive!
Yeah, everywhere is jammed full. We're not used to having to preplan this much. - Dennis
@@EatSeeRV D brings me coffee every weekend morning - 27 years in!
The wife in my family takes care of me and does that ,plus breakfast
welcome to Michigan! we love the sand dunes - never knew about Leland and have been to Leelanou several times
Wonderful to enlighten us , such good info .
you guys are awesome.
What a beautiful video! I want to go to Michigan even more.
Thanks!
You definitely won't regret it!
I seen Acapulco in the beginning 0:10 ❤🇲🇽
Catching up, love the video. My daughter is 1 hour outside of Traverse City doing an internship this summer. Between her and your video, Michigan is definitely on our short travel list. We are from Georgia. ❤️
That's cool. I'm sure she's having a blast! Yeah, y'all have to get up and explore! - Dennis
Welcome to the great lakes state God bless you and your travels
So I read online that it takes 3 to 4 hour round-trip to go to the base sleeping bear dunes and back up!
Didn't take that long for us!
One thing you need to do in Michigan is kayak or canoe one all of our Scenic Rivers
What a great video!!! We’re going to follow in your footsteps! Thank you.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
What is the remote wifi system you use? You mentioned it in one of your Michigan videos.
This was great fun, thanks!!

Thanks for tuning in
Thank you for this helpful video!
That's amazing! I haven't seen nearly as many in the UP though. It's kind of a food desert depending on where your at.
Very cool stop at sleeping bear dunes NP. Been there twice. Travel safe.
Another beautiful place to add to the must see list.
That wall looks like a challenge 🤔.
Definitely a thumbs up 👍
Across from the scenic drive is the dunes parking area. Not as steep but a great climb and you see lake Michigan and big and little glen lakes. Awesome!!
You’re blessed! I lov ya guys
Yes we are! Thank you! - Dennis
