    One thing I'd HIGHLY recommend is a strip of paint protection film (I use the VViViD clear tape rolls) across the roof where that front fairing with the trim sits - if you don't do this, dirt/sand, etc. can (and will) get under that fairing trim and rub through the clearcoat/paint on the roof.

      In PA, it is also not ok to have front facing roof lights uncovered! Also in PA, it's not ok for any lights that are over a certain wattage not to be covered!

    Hi Guys thanks for this install video not a lot of install videos for the Cali Raised Led roof rack but you guys did a great job. Before I installed mine few days ago I watched your video several times. On the later part of your video I saw Travis having a hard time to screw that allen bolt under the extrusion which the mount is connected. I found a solution how to install that small allen wrench bolt that connects the mounts and the extrusion. First, I mounted the four mounts on the extrusions and then placed and mount them on top of the 4R. And from there I started building the roof rack. I wished I have another person helped me but I finished it under 2.5hours. Looking forward to your future videos! Cheers!

    Any thoughts on this rack a year later? Any issues with roof rub at the very front? Has it remained a solid rack solution for you, nothing loosening up or breaking (such as the adjustable fairing)? I'm torn between this one and the Westcott Designs. Similar price points but both have some pros and cons, any thoughts would be appreciated and helpful.

    • @AdventureBuilt
      @AdventureBuilt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much. You can definitely add pods to the rear but I’m not sure what other pods you could use there. I’m sure 3” would fit but the brackets to make them fit in the cutout might be complex.

    Are you able to do a light bar comparison between the CaliRaisedLED light bar vs Diode Dynamics and Baja Designs. I’ve been so torn between those 3.

    • @AdventureBuilt
      @AdventureBuilt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Best light bar is going to be Diode Dynamics. The Baja light bar might be a pinch brighter and a pinch cleaner but for the price you can’t beat the Diode Dynamics. Trevor had the Cali Raised LED bar and my Diode is way nicer. Hope this helps.

    • @xavior718
      @xavior718 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AdventureBuilt yes, that definitely helps tremendously. The CaliRaisedLED light bar was what I decided I was going to get based on the lumens and price. But DD is really what I want.

  • @Doubleknottedlaces
    @Doubleknottedlaces 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Maybe a dumb question. With the light bar mounted further back to allow for the adjustable wind deflector, does that restrict the beam pattern from the light bar? Seems like it would because most lights bars are at the edge of the windshield. Get what I mean?

    • @AdventureBuilt
      @AdventureBuilt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The light bar light beam throws so far that the rack doesn’t make a difference. Luckily because the cover plate is so cool.

    Following your video step by step installing it the same way just to find out “oh this is the wrong bracket”
    “Oh this-is upside down”
    Lets tear it apart AGAIN.
