WOW this is one of the best brake pipe video I have see on YT.. thanks.. TIP.. Not brakes related only what I see, get some under seal or stone chip on the under side of your foot wells before you put wings back on... as this is an area where the water from the wheel splashes up on to and them rots out.
Meant to say i take alot of pride in making a neat job of brake pipes. lve seen some jobs over the years that are truly dreadful and feel that you are judged straight away on the quality of the pipes that have been made.
Really enjoying this rebuild....for the first time in my life I haven't made the new pipes for my Defender, I cheated and bought ready made ones!...I still will have to bend them to fit mind :) ......(by the way your option one is also known as a single flare, option 2 is a double flare)
I am glad you said actually. When i was making the video i couldn't for the life of me remember the propper term for it. I used to do alot of brake pipes for customers. I take alot of pride in making brake pipes because straight away people are judging your work if they see they have been replaced. Nothing wrong with that. You will have more of a factory finish over the copper ones 😉.
Will that tool do all the brake pipes on a Defender? Would you have a link to the tool, I'm a bit unsure if it should be SAE or DIN. Thanks for the video
Another very useful and well shot video, thanks. im wondering what thread type and sizes are used on Puma brake pipes and are the earlier ones different?
Thank you. They are the same as the early 90s + 110s. Think different threads were used on the series models but 100%. I will find out and report back.
@@lifes.projects Thanks again. Its MOT time soon and it looks like the replacement brake pipes that were fitted were copper not cunifer and have started to go green.

Thanks Gary!
Well spotted, i have a few bits to rub down and paint before the wings go back on.

@@lifes.projects LOL...I've got cunifer ones...last a bit better than plain copper but don't rust like steel :)
Another good video Tom, well explained step by step and from start to finish. Well done,
Thank You!
