The average Joe cannot retire on Hilton head Island. The costs have tripled as well as the insurance. The taxes have gone up substantially. If you have to ask how much, you can’t afford to live in Hilton Head! This is a place for the Uber rich. Not the average Joe. I sold after 18 years. There was no way it was affordable for retirement. Just the costs without a mortgage would it be over $2000 a month for a small condo. Ridiculous!!

I used to live on Hilton Head Island. If you live on the mainland then you don’t live on Hilton Head Island.
