Those machine springs in the trunk struts are a very bad idea. They put excessive force on the plastic strut ends and sometimes even bend the car frame "knobs" (where the top end of the strut connects). Those installations typically work for maybe a few days, after which they stop working because something has bent out of shape or the plastic strut head has deformed. Better take them out.

How do you rent the Tesla on Turo with FSD Beta and risk a problem with the renter canceling your beta participation. I want to rent my 21 model 3+ but I wish I could lock out that FSD BETA like you can lock the glove box with a 4 digit code. This can be a problem if you just let a teenager or friend use your car and they getting you Beta violations and suspension.

Passenger lumbar would be a big one. NHSTA removal of Boombox that I used on country roads so animals stay away and their wanting to remove sound after Horn, both nonsensical reasons that "people would be distracted and not hear your horn" - what? The only "regret" if you even wanna call it that, about getting a standard range 2019 model 3, is that I didn't grab long range. I've considered trading my standard range for a long range, but the interest rates on Carvana and the options just don't make sense. I realistically get 220mi of range off my base model 3. It's really not that big of a deal and I never notice range until I go to make a longer trip. I'll be driving to michigan from Missouri coming in 3 weeks, so hopefuilly there's no issues with that.

This I can relate. Ordered a Performance Model 3 with original delivery date in late May but now July- August. Being an impatient person I bought a used 2022 Long Range with just a few thousand miles. As a first time Tesla owner I'm impressed with how quick the LR is and Ive own some fast cars including my current Porsche 992 C4S. The LR does not feel a lot slower than the Performance and with the 18's its gets way more range as well. Now I still want the Performance for the wheels and sportier suspension but I begin to wonder if its worth almost the $10k more lol

Features I wish they had not deleted: passenger seat moving lumbar (my wife definitely needs this), charge cable with 110V adapter (I got this in my MYLR but I do think it should be included). All things considered, I got more new features than lost old ones. The HW3, dual-pane front glass, full auto-trunk lift and a couple others. Features I wish they would add (besides those lost): air suspension option, auto lift front trunk option, CCS adapter accessory, 18in Aero wheels option, black wheel covers on Geminis option and (coming) structural 4680 battery pack standard. The car I have is great and these missing or wish-list items are minor. I may trade it in a year for a new one and get most of those anyway. Thanks and drive safely.

Great insight! Always enjoy your videos.
Something else to consider is you can get models that are no longer offered. I just recently purchased a used M3 LR RWD that has worked perfectly for me because I don't really need AWD but wanted the longer range. Also got Enhanced Autopilot that the previous owner paid for and is no longer offered - best parts of autopilot and FSD without the huge price bump. Some other things I didn't account for is the premium interior that I think came with the LR model and lifetime connectivity which is saving me $10 per month. Plus I should add that if I choose to bump up to FSD it is "only" $6k instead of $12k because I have Enhanced Autopilot

Great video! I have a question. I had a 2019 model 3 SR+ that had horrible wind noise from the top of the drivers window, so I ordered a new 2022 with due to double pane glass, heating changes, power trunk, etc. it’s eta isn’t until August/Sept. Now I’m rethinking and wondering if I should consider a long range 2019 or 2020 but I’m concerned about excessive wind noise again. Do you know if this is a common issue? I have a 19 Mazda 3 and everyone keeps telling me just waiting for the 22 Tesla to arrive but I honestly feel a long range older model 3 may fit my needs better. The lack of warranty is a bit of concern too but the most costly components should be good for a while.

Dam those prices are insane. I can buy a 2022 Model 3 with 30 to 45k miles for less than 25k, 21k after you factor in the tax rebate. I'm not talking one Model 3 either. I'm talking 4 or 5 at one dealership. You bought at the worst time.

I'm searching for mine currently. Not as easy as you'd think. The dealers are adding ridiculous fees to recoup the cost from the market drop on these. • @TheKillagodZilla
      @TheKillagodZilla 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@jgore629 it's easy on MD, DC, Virginia, and Delaware, but it could be harder in other areas. Just bought a 2022 Model 3 RWD with 18,500 miles and the new LFP battery (charge to 100%) for $25,000, or 21,000 after rebate. Add in 3k down @ 6.5% interest and I have a cheap car payment and cheap insurance (Tesla Insurance - not available in all states). If I couldn't get Tesla insurance I wouldn't have bought one. GEICO and the other carriers want too much to insure them. Hope you find one they are fun to drive and I love all the aftermarket accessories you can buy to customize your Model 3. It was only supposed to last me a short time until the PY came out, but then he dangled the Cybertruck so I ordered that instead. Now I'm waiting way too long and regret not getting the Y, but it's also too close to get rid of the SR+. Argh. If only he was honest about the delays.

We found a 2019 Model 3 at a Kia dealership that was listed and priced as a LR. When looking at in person though, we found it to be a stealth/sleeper performance with the FSD package. The dealership was clueless to it all. We ended up with a really good deal. A lot of non-Tesla dealers are unsure how to properly list Teslas and can often make mistakes that you can catch and possibly get a great deal on. Just always check that info screen!

Honestly, this guy did not give good and intelligent reasons for getting a new or used Tesla based on "needs". 🧐 Instead of catering to the materialistic lifestyle based on "desire", one can patiently wait a couple months saving thousands. Or, drive another vehicle.
Moreover, unless you have money to spare, with the current price increases, there are no major incentives to get a Tesla. Gas savings and no low maintenance are misleading. 👎 Once you start making payments or deal with insurance claims you find out the hard way! 😉

I remain very happy with our 2018 Model 3 LR AWD.
    * Includes HomeLink which allows it to auto open/close the right garage door per our configuration as we arrive / leave.
    * Includes premium connectivity for life of car.
    * Paid much less than $12k for Full Self-Driving (it has the Tesla FSD computer that was installed a year or so after I took original delivery).
    * Includes the less efficient, but better looking 19" tires.
    * 100% charge provides ~265 miles range display which was ~310 on initial delivery (see notes below regarding driving range).
    * Practical driving range remains unchanged compared initial delivery giving ~200 miles in ~3 hours with ~10% battery left when starting from 95-100% battery left.
    * Includes passenger lumbar which does get used.
    * Lack of pedestrian safety noise-maker (which I don't like).
    * Lack of powered trunk which has never bothered me, same way manual frunk lift / close doesn't bother me.
    * Lack of better road-noise sound insulating windows and other nice-to-have improvements newer Model 3 have.
    Regarding Range:
To get ~200 actual miles in ~3 hours with ~10% battery left, we have to use the energy app and see how much we are using, and adjust speed and / or following distance to reduce consumption rate to get necessary projected range. We can travel as fast as 85 mph if following behind something else that is pushing a lot of the air out of our way to keep our energy consumption rate lower, or we can drive slower (~65-70 mph) when not behind anything.
People need to know the EPA rated range is determined while testing for one passenger in certain weight range with no cargo, on dynamometers (i.e. without wind resistance or incline / decline consideration) at speeds oscillating between 30-60 mph and perfect level of tire inflation. They shouldn't expect to get same range as their EV vehicles EPA rated range since real-world driving is not in such neutral testing conditions. We drive faster on highways, and we have to push air out of the way, and we also drive on inclines and declines or go through curving roads or rougher texture roads and so many other factors that can impact energy consumption rates.
For any of our longer driving trips where we go for a leg closer to 200 miles apart and need to be careful about range / charging, it is 4 passengers, with frunk / trunk both having cargo, comfortable air conditioning, streaming music playing, navigate on autopilot active, with map displaying earth view (premium connectivity required).

Renting all these Tesla’s on Turo seems like much more hassle than it’s worth. I just don’t get it.

  • @mikegracz6987

Great review! As always, great content, great info. One thing I notice on forums and videos is the mention of "EPA range", which one would think is standardized no matter the vehicle. Well... The testing itself is standardized, but the reporting is not. EPA hands the data over to the manufacturer and recommends multiplying by 70% to get real world range. (The testing is done indoors on a roller machine), All manufacturers do this EXCEPT Audi and Tesla. Tesla multiplies by 81%.... The manufacturer may have sound reasons for this difference, but they do not need to provide any explanation or justification. This info comes from me corresponding with EPA about this topic....I could send you the message if you were interested.

I find the mobile connector to be invaluable. I think my experience would have been tainted if it hadn't been included.
The FSD option was great although I had a small learning curve to overcome when I didn't have the option to enter the FSD beta program. It turned out that although I had the FSD package the computer wasn't ready for it... a simple chat with Tesla support about the issue and the computer was upgraded in my driveway within a week.
I'm still waiting to be included in the FSD beta program. I have the required safety score but I guess the roll out is still limited. I'm hoping FSD goes live this year, even if it's nationwide beta. Fingers crossed. :)
