dont take any notice of people saying they're bored. They're just addicted to idiots talking fast jargon. I'm sick of every talking-head thinking they have to nail me with automatic fire so I don't click off. You told me more about the bobber than any other review I've seen and gave me a 3D picture. This is valuable in a world of sound bites and 'review' junk
I borrowed one of these for a while and I largely agree with your review - for me the fuel tank range was the major negative...and if I had to keep one outside and put up with that corrosion, my OCD would go into overdrive! Nice review, thanks for posting...TMF
I agree almost 100% with this review. Owned mine same amount of time, I've got 2500 miles on odometer. 1. Small tank is #1. But I knew that going in. My commute is nearly 45 to 55 mins, pending slow drivers. I have to fill up after every "there and back" trip bc if I try to squeeze a 3rd leg of the journey.... I'll arrive at "---" miles left in the tank. Lol yes, that's actually what it reads. 2. Coming from naked sports bikes previously, I scrape those chicken feet daily. I've scraped the edges of my boots and the exhaust can. But sometimes it's intentional.... 3. Cover since day one and it's kept outside. I don't see the corrosion the reviewer is getting. But I also clean it once a week. 4. Looks and people complimenting EVERYWHERE I go! Including in the middle.of the interstate in traffic! 5. Definitely a back road bike but she holds her own on the interstate. At 80, she sits at 3400 rpm. So your mpg isn't gonna be the greatest with that. However, going easy and on back roads, I've seen the claimed 65. But who buys a bike like this and wants to go easy? 6. Lack of aftermarket right now because so new. There's like 5, maybe, exhaust options? 3 de cat x pipes. Just bought free spirits de cat x pipe and I'll probably just cut the silencers off and heat wrap before spending money on a slip on. See if the cheapest route happens to get the sound I want. Great review and love the channel!! Btw I'm in Maryland in the states, not the UK. So perhaps there isn't the humidity issue as much as over there! (Referring to corrosion)
Excellent, informative, interesting review! Due to various disabilities ‘picked up’ through having multiple cancers, I can no longer ride (although I’m very, very grateful to be alive!) but man how I wish, wish, wish that I still could - it’d probably be a toss-up between this beauty and an Indian FTR 1200. But anyways, content like this provides a tiny, tiny bit of cycle-respite - nice one MCN - lots and lots more please!
Just watched this video all the way to the end, the bloopers were really funny. I hope you're getting to do more reviews fella, i really liked this one.
Thanks for the detailed and thorough review. I decided to buy a '22 Bobber Gold Line and reviews like yours were instrumental in my decision. I personally enjoyed the delivery; you don't need to act the fool to be impressed by something. Thank you!
If you want a nice bobbed look without the oil stain in the garage, and some real power, this is a hard bike to beat. The brakes are the very weak link IMO, and it was nice to see Triumph add the second disc up front on the Bobber Black for 18.
Triumph Bobber, LONGTERM- I'm sure you're familiar with "Captain Rambunctious." I've been watching him, FOR YEARS. I see You're on a loading dock. I spent 35yrs, on 18 wheels. I rode, for 50 years. I don't know how many bikes I've had. I'm RETIRED now. Tell the Captain, "That Guy in California, who BROKE HIS HIP- A few years ago, said HELLO." John Spencer Long Beach, Ca U.S.A.
Great review of this bike. I love the look. Perfect commuter if you are only heading 5-10 miles each way and you live in a sunny place most of the year...
Good rucksacks have a waist strap and padding so the weight is supported on your hips and not on your shoulders. I suggest the reviewer look for a better rucksack.
You can take the weight of the backpack off your shoulders by using a backpack which has a hip belt, putting the weight onto your hips for upper body relief, and it will not put strain onto your hips.
This is my second go at watching this review because I am actually actively considering buying a Bobber. Last time I got to about 8minutes. This time I just made it to bit about the corrosion. For a commercial organisation this is poor. Watch The Missenden flyer for how to do this sort of thing. mind you, I've seen some other MCN vids which have been badly made. Content is there, it's just the delivery and the editing.
thanks for the great review, love the bike, i hope i wil own one of these one day. as for the numbness in your arms from the rucksack, get a rucksack that straps to your chest, it will relieve your shoulders from strain. take care and ride safe
I love Triumph and I have a 17 Bobber.. I bought a Indian Bobber the 1st day they were released just over a month ago.. I have to be honest.. I optioned for spokes and mini apes which i love and ive ridden both from here in Vail Colorado to my business in Los Angeles non stop.. Ive ridden both also from Colorado to Dallas non stop where I have rental property and its exactly 1000 miles from door to door.. I have pipes on both and the Indian is much more agile and comfortable.. The Triumph is GREAT but I just seem to migrate to my Indian when I grab keys. its also MUCH FASTER with the 112hp it dynoed after V&H GRENADE exhaust, ecu flash and a tune. I cant get over 76hp on the Triumph with same mods..I dont really like the seat on the Triumph.. it needs something to take away that strange floating look. I actuall have had one made that will look more Bates hard mounted style. I miss the Thruxton I traded for it.
Great review! Looking at purchasing one, and you have given me much to consider. Probably the best review of a bike I have ever seen. Love the bloobers, such a great finale to such a great review. Cheers :)
I really wish MCN would compare the three bobber models, Indian, HD and Triumph. They're only some of the best selling new motorcycles in US & UK. What is taking so long?
@11:50 I started laughing so hard because it's so true! It feels like your spine is being shattered because it is part of the monoshock. Only other complaint is pegs scrape often. Amazing review you got them all. Thank you
Mark Jacobs ya I don’t get that. I have a custom kawi 750 bobber (1997)... do the brakes have bite? Not exactly, can I still lock them if I squeeze hard enough? Yes lol... it makes no sense
My 14 plate 865 Bonnie has lived outside, sometimes covered and used in rain and has no obvious signs of corrosion as i treat it with ACF50 about 3 times in winter and throughout summer i spray cheaper GT 85 over all the fixings and engine casings.as for the discs what bikes discs dont show a bit of surface rust when left standing the pads will scrub that off almost immediately after use. Good review though im just being a bit pedantic 👍
That’s my issue with Triumphs they do have corrosion issues , I’ve seen one year old bikes that wear wise looked like ten . That tank range is ludicrous . Ile keep my R 9 T 2016 and still looks mint .😁🇬🇧🏍
Comprehensive review, and in a unique style. I just wish you could put a little more excitement into the bits you liked. You dont want to sound like Coronation Street. But maybe that's just me. In any case you touched on all the points I wanted to have cleared up. Thanks!
Good review - and despite the negatives I'm more attracted to the Bobber than before watching the vid. Rucksack: get a Kriega - the R30 grips the chest well so less pressure on the shoulder straps.
Get a backpack from Kriega. They are specially made for bikers. They distribute the weight, so it won’t sit on you me shoulders! Used it on my RnineT for years.
What about gearbox issues? Some say that is very often in BNonnevile family included T120 and T100 engine. Any information about it because official Triumph web side and dealers keeps shut.
Great in depth review thanks. :) I am seriously thinking of getting one but the tank rang is putting me off. I like to fill my bike up on a Sunday and do the commute all week without going to the petrol station. I do about 110 miles commuting in a week so not much. Sold my GSXR 750 as it's tank range was 100 miles if I was careful, which you can't be on a sports bike. Ruined a really nice bike. Seems triumph have made the same mistake. I hope they do a larger tank as an option. Will go and have a look. If not may look at something else. Maybe a CB1100
If the bumps are jarring your spine, you might want to go ahead and try to move the seat back a bit. Your knees should be just above your toes. Kind of like doing squats while lifting. I ride with the balls of my feet on the pegs, instead of back towards the arch, and it's easy to shift my weight to my legs, which soaks up the bumps really well. I commute on a Harley Roadster. This side of the pond and all. Traded a Triumph Thunderbird for it, and got like 2000 off of sticker, 3000 cheaper than the T-120 I was looking at. Loved the Bird, used to commute 300 miles a week on it, but it is a heavy beast. I rode the T-120, and had it narrowed to that or the Roadster, but 3K off and it was over. Waiting for the new Speed, done up on the same frame. That bike looks the gear.
Stretch Man This doesn’t work to well with bobbers usually. I know this is not the same ergo as actual bobbers but I assume it’s similar. Usually the reach and pegs are so far forward that if you move the seat back it makes it worse
Not really an issue if you're taller. On this bike, the seat is adjustable, and will slide back on a rail. If you are too tucked, and can't get your feet under you, the ride will suck. Same goes for smaller riders who have the seat too far back. Might want to try it in a more forward position. I guess that is why it is adjustable.
I enjoyed the review. Thank you for reviewing comfort level on longer rides. How tall are you? I am 6’ tall and am concerned about comfort level on a bobber like this. Thoughts?
Just bought one, will get it early May (Bobber Black) Very nice video! But you will have to change your foot pegs soon! You keep scratching them! Hahaha
Nice looking but I quickly got bored when I took a test ride. It's not as dynamic as I hoped... before you shoot me down I know it's not meant for that but I prefer the poke and pull of the Indian Scout so for me I'm waiting for the Indian Scout Bobber. That's what I love about biking though, everyone is different and looking for something individual to them (apart from most R1200GS riders but best not go into that!). If we were all cut from thr same cloth the tapestry of life would be bloody bland.
Has anyone tried touring on one of these? I tour long distance on a 2015 Indian Scout. All it needs is a luggage rack on that rear mudguard and some decent big saddle bags. I'd personally put a big old (detachable) windscreen on it too (yeh yeh - I know - it would ruin the looks and concept but I'd do it all the same)......but you could tour a la Easy Rider without the wind screen of course. Anyone with a Trumpy Bobber done it yet? (tour long distance with luggage I mean).
I always thought that uk uses litre and kilometres as measuring units like in most commonwealth countries, to my surprise all U.K. People in these videos use mile and gallon as measuring units.
not legal in the UK for the number plate to be on the side? i've not had a single problem whenever I chopped my bike. MOT accepts it happily not once pulled by police. do a bit more research into that I'd say just to be safe as i've not had a problem for a few years.
When you see one in person looks like a toy with toy fuel range and toy breaks. For 10k there are far better choices.Kawasaki 2018 z900 looks amazing 110HP 72LB T and great looks for same price or even less.
Its just to expensive, hence there's not shitloads of them being sold, at $20,000 there is way to many other bikes to choose that would do everything better. I was seriously considering buying one, until I worked it out that to customise it to my vision of the Bobber was $25000 ride away, now we are in some seriously better bikes for value range, hence I didn't buy one, but bought something else.
Im in Australia, so they are Australian prices, the Bobber retails a shade under $20,000aud on road ride away. But once you black out the motor, put on the shortened front and rear guards plus ape hanger bars, decent looking pipes the price goes up and up, my biggest dislike for the Bobber is actually the tank, Triumph really missed the boat on that one detail, you google the T100 of the 60's, far nicer tank, the tank should have been seamless, same capacity, but would look smaller.
James Matheson o, ok! Yeah ... the seam on the tank is another common complaint from folks. Doesn't bother me, but I wasn't exactly around in the 60's and 70's to appreciate the full nostalgia! Ha ha glad you ended up with something you liked regardless! !
Side Number plates or not illegal in the uk not liked the rules are it has to be behind the singing arm at the rear of the bike if you have to have a side number plate they would like one each side. opinion only.
How on Earth did you do three hours riding without refuelling? My Bobber can manage about an hour or an hour and a half at most. Regarding the rucksack, buy a Kreiga! They are made for bikers and don't hand on the shoulders.
I thought the same!! Tank is small but then again it is goon on long journeys to force the rider to take a break and stay alert. I enjoy my Bobber and have done 570km in one day. Not made for it but I cannot complain. Will I buy it again - ABSOLUTELY
Using one or two fingers for the majority of stopping power with a single front disc brake will not give you the proper leverage to get the most out of any front moto brake. You either need to beef up mate, and improve your grip strength, or use all four fingers versus whining.
I hate to have to agree with the "negative" comments but watching this truly is a snooze vest. The accent with the monotone voice makes it very hard to watch.
Thanks for the nice review David Guetta!

TheMissendenFlyer you clearly know how to put OCD in good use sir..lol
TheMissendenFlyer - I thought of ur review as soon as I saw this vid thumbnail.
Aww, how sweet! :0)
@themissedenflyer have you reviewed the Kawasaki 650 Vulcan ?
Probably one of the best reviews for honesty and daily practical riding use, the corrosion things a bit of a worry.

See you in OC lol
Good call actually, I think slicing/cutting the exhaust diagonally (like the brutale) and putting black heat wraps would look mad and sound mad!
Just bought the 2020 Bobber Black and I’m obsessed with it!!!!
Love the bobber. I think they look good with the high bars too.
It's so cool to see a young bird like you doing a good review on a bike like this.
Nice one, keep it going!

Love the outtake's Liam 🤣🤣
Side plates are perfectly legal, as long as they are the correct size.
I get asked just about every stop light what year my 2014 CB1100 is. I love this bike too!!!
Hi Liam - Thanks for the review. Like Gary Walker, I recommend you try a Kriega rucksack. It will definitely help take the weight off your shoulders.
Great review of this bike. I love the look. Perfect commuter if you are only heading 5-10 miles each way and you live in a sunny place most of the year...
little note from a guy who rides with backpacks everyday: get a backpack with a waist buckle. that reduces the strain on ur shoulder.
Good rucksacks have a waist strap and padding so the weight is supported on your hips and not on your shoulders. I suggest the reviewer look for a better rucksack.
That corrosion is unacceptable
You can take the weight of the backpack off your shoulders by using a backpack which has a hip belt, putting the weight onto your hips for upper body relief, and it will not put strain onto your hips.
It's a close call between this and the Indian scout bobber.
This is my second go at watching this review because I am actually actively considering buying a Bobber. Last time I got to about 8minutes. This time I just made it to bit about the corrosion. great review---thanks from Canada.
thanks for the great review, love the bike, i hope i wil own one of these one day.
as for the numbness in your arms from the rucksack, get a rucksack that straps to your chest, it will relieve your shoulders from strain.
take care and ride safe
That corrosion is just insane.. you'd think all major bike manufacturers would have gotten past that but apparently not all.
I love Triumph and I have a 17 Bobber.. I bought a Indian Bobber the 1st day they were released just over a month ago.. I have to be honest.. I love when people whine about the bob brakes. It is what it is. It's not a naked or sportbike. If you want that get one of those.
Mark Jacobs ya I don’t get that. I have a custom kawi 750 bobber (1997)... do the brakes have bite? Not exactly, can I still lock them if I squeeze hard enough? Yes lol... it makes no sense
Standsalone well looking at the price and the Times we live in they should be better.
Is it possible to take a corner WITHOUT scraping the pegs? :)
Ed Samprakos Well if you are looking for that then maybe a cruiser/bobber isn’t your thing
You can use cape cod metal polish to help with that corrosion just use it about once a moth after a wash.
Excellent review
Usually MCN has great vids...somebody get this guy a latte
When the radiator fan turned 0n did u feel the engine heat blowing towards your legs??
Good review - and despite the negatives I'm more attracted to the Bobber than before watching the vid. Rucksack: get a Kriega - the R30 grips the chest well so less pressure on the shoulder straps.
I'm 6' tall and I when I tested the bobber I thought it was super uncomfortable. Looks cool though.
Yep, felt the same. I looked like I was on a kid’s bike also.
Is there an update on the accessory upgrades
Can he be any less excited about doing the review?
Great in depth review thanks. :) I am seriously thinking of getting one but the tank rang is putting me off. I like to fill my bike up on a Sunday and do the commute all week without going to the petrol station. I do about 110 miles commuting in a week so not much. Sold my GSXR 750 as it's tank range was 100 miles if I was careful, which you can't be on a sports bike. Ruined a really nice bike. Seems triumph have made the same mistake. you cna get a custom tank made by any motorcycle shop and itll be nice
also i love the dual sport style knobby tyres on my Indian.
How tall are you ? How's the leg room ?? I'm 6'2" tall....just wondering. Thanks
If the bumps are jarring your spine, you might want to go ahead and try to move the seat back a bit. Your knees should be just above your toes. Kind of like doing squats while lifting.
I favorite of all the new range.
Side number plates aren’t illegal in the uk are they?
Thx uuuu so much
I enjoyed the review. Thank you for reviewing comfort level on longer rides. How tall are you? I am 6’ tall and am concerned about comfort level on a bobber like this. Thoughts?
Mo Gonzalez he said he was 6ft 1”
I love mcn, but most of the reviews are short. 😔
I want this one
put your rucksack on backwards ..rest it on ya lap..:)
This bloke needs to change his battery
🤣😂
how tall are you is the bike comfortable
Someone get this lad a drink of water
Cool guy
3 months of riding and you filmed this video in one afternoon..?
Just bought one, will get it early May (Bobber Black) Very nice video! But you will have to change your foot pegs soon! You keep scratching them! Hahaha
great review. fell asleep halfway
Change your back pack and get 1 that either crosses your chest or straps at the chest and waste maybe this will help
nice one
I always thought that uk uses litre and kilometres as measuring units like in most commonwealth countries, to my surprise all U.K. People in these videos use mile and gallon as measuring units.

It's illegal in the sense of if a cop wants to mess with you. He'll just stop you for that.
Yorkshire?
Awesome review, man 👌...
Try a better equipment for sound, sounds like you aren't opening your mouth enough or chewing something.
It indeed is a beautiful bike. Too bad single seat setup doesn't work for most people.
Why not get a proper leather jacket by the way?
It is a great bike. I will get one just to ride to the gym, 3-5 mins away. But sounds like it is really not practical for your circumstances.
With all respect but you've said that you been riding the bike daily and you didn't go anywhere near the fuel cap for two weeks?
Oil cap.
E Brown oh sorry mate I was stoned when I was watching the video, great bike
Take care
I put money on it he's a teacher!
the guy reviewing sounds like he's bored out of his mind..you dont need to be shouty like clarkson's bunch..but jesus...
he's rather monotone
Yar D Blah my thoughts exactly. He needs a couple redbulls to wake up bahaha :-)
^
Do you ride it every day?
Richard Harris lol he literally started the video by taling about how much he rides it
Buy the Triunph 1600 thunderbird . the bobber looks nice but petrol stations every 70 miles .Ride we want to not fill every hour.
When you see one in person looks like a toy with toy fuel range and toy breaks. For 10k there are far better choices.Kawasaki 2018 z900 looks amazing 110HP 72LB T and great looks for same price or even less.
Good review and reviewer. It's the kind of bike that I guess you have to tolerate.
James Matheson ? Where r u getting these numbers? I bought mine because it was cheaper than everything else I wanted....
Side Number plates or not illegal in the uk not liked the rules are it has to be behind the singing arm at the rear of the bike if you have to have a side number plate they would like one each side. opinion only.
sorry, the bmw is moons over the bobber
Can it be lifted up??
How on Earth did you do three hours riding without refuelling? My Bobber can manage about an hour or an hour and a half at most.
Regarding the rucksack, buy a Kreiga! They are made for bikers and don't hand on the shoulders.
Ha - just made the same comment wrt Kriega
I thought the same!! Tank is small but then again it is goon on long journeys to force the rider to take a break and stay alert. I enjoy my Bobber and have done 570km in one day. Not made for it but I cannot complain. Will I buy it again - ABSOLUTELY
Yeah, good point about taking regular breaks!
Using one or two fingers for the majority of stopping power with a single front disc brake will not give you the proper leverage to get the most out of any front moto brake. You either need to beef up mate, and improve your grip strength, or use all four fingers versus whining.
Foo Cue this is common with riders that are used to those new brakes... the single works fine if you squeeze hard enough haha
Its a bobber but surely it can have a decent brake. They were putting calipers like that on 250s back in the '70s!
Lol, more like front drums that take a hour to stop you!
I hate to have to agree with the "negative" comments but watching this truly is a snooze vest. The accent with the monotone voice makes it very hard to watch.
Puzzled why by one if you need to carry stuff. Bonney be better. To me it's just a fun ride out bike. Not my choice
Kriega rucksack...100%
Gee whiz, 4mins 17 secs in and Im really bored. I like the reviewer but we could edit it to five mins and have something entertaining..?
alwyn McMath AUTO-DIDACT I made it about 6 minutes before I was thinking that they shoulda hit the main points a little better and shorter.
TIL 3 months = long term.
Good LAWD. Please get EXCITED about things. Could be a review about concrete blocks ffs.
The most monotone and sleepiest review of such an exciting motorcycle.
Omg it’s a British weird Al Yankovich
Hair cut m8, short bk and side
Next time you do a review, get yourself a huge pile of coke, sniff up half of it and have at 'er! Good luck ;)
