Thanks for that, very useful info....that's helped me with my pre-drink for London, as I cramp up lately. Decathlon do men's half tights now with all those pockets, I got a pair the other month and wore them on a 10K race today. They are great, better than the Soar ones I have and only wore once and cost the earth. What do you use on your watch Data Screen set up, ie lap pace / time etc... I am also using the Metaspeed Paris for London, amazing shoe.
Nice, which ones from Decathlon do you have? The Evadict trail ones? Very good pockets on those too. Lap pace is the main metric I use, plus the overall predicted time on the watch is quite handy, as long as you account for GPS errors at markers
Are you going for any headphones on this race? About to run Boston and pondering the jump from my old Jabra 65ts to the Elite Active 8. Tendency for left earbud connection to drop out without case reset in the 65ts is grinding my gears!
@@pauljones8254 I’m using the Shokz Openfit or Openrun mini. Not sure which ones, depending on the weather 🌦️ as the Openrun with a hat on are annoying.
Good luck! Just want to say this channel is an inspiration. I'm a beginner, strugling for 8-10k. With my peg39. Nice to see u guys working hard and enjoy. Tom and the cushions, Kieran and the non-stop marathons jyst to check outba new shoe, Mike and his deep thoughts and you with irony and enthusiasm altogether. Oh, 24c is a nice spring day here in Israel
I've been using the AW Ultra 2's pacer mode for Frankfurt Halfmarathon and I found it worked incredibly well. For the first 10km, GPS reception was on point...Only 3m off at the 10k mark!
Nick do you still use Peter’s Pacer? I’ve used it before following seeing mentioned here but recently finding it buggy. If not is the alternative just the out of the box Garmin features like pace pro? I like the distance correction with Peters.
Hi, sorry I missed this! I haven't used Peter's Pacer in a while as GPS accuracy is good enough on the latest Garmins. I tend to just manual split in dodgy areas like Canary Wharf, or use Garmin's distance and time target and add time on in my head when passing markers!
Why Sky over Edge? Everyone says Edge is better for cadence and heel to mid foot strikers. I'm a bit confused... Think I am a cadence runner and mid to forefoot striker.
“This is my 7th time running the London marathon” Everyone who has been unsuccessful 7+ times in the ballot: 😢 Just kidding, good luck! Hope it all goes well on the day.
Great information Nick! I was curious about this too. 750 ml is approximately 1.65 lbs ( excluding the Maurten & the bottles). I struggled with this decision at Amsterdam last October. Ended wearing a Naked run belt (best belt). over Soar half-tights. (Moving to Bandit tights next for pockets). Carried a 500 ml Hydrapak bottle with M320 mix. Had my wife exchange for a fresh bottle mid-race. Really trying to not carry extra weight but don't like stopping at hydration stops and also not good with drinking from cups. Sorry so long!
Good luck Nick. I love these videos it’s great to hear the gear you use when it really matters.
I used to have these shorts and forgot about them. Thanks for the reminder!
Best of luck Nick 👍🏻 Helpful video as ever
Looks like it might be quite warm again this year! Good luck Nick
Got the Decathlon shorts. Awesome indeed to have so much storage for that price!

@@TheRunTesters Yeah I think so.

Can’t recommend more the tights! Amazing purchase! Thanks Nick! All the best in London!
All the best 🎉
Best of luck, Nick.
I'm jealous of the shorts that you're using. I wish I had a pair of them.
All the best with your pb
Best of luck!

Nick. Pls pls, what band do you have on the Garmin watch? Thank you and good luck!!!
It's just a cheap one off eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275841227603?var=577625315564. Thanks!

@@TheRunTesters thanks Nick and good luck Sunday.
id love you guys to make a video on presciption glasses that are good for running in
We probably won’t do a full video but I’ll cover what I’ve used in our next Points of Shoe podcast if that’s handy
Good luck Nick, does the soft flask at the front press against your bladder? Tried it before and ended up needing the loo during the race
Crush it boss,best of luck
Good luck Nick
How many Maurten 320's into the 3 250ml soft flasks? Just 1.5 as per the instructions (1 per 500ml) or do a more dense mix?
how different are the kiprun 900 shorts to the Kiprun tights emboss? the storage looks like like it'll be just as good?
Where did you get your soft flasks from
Decathlon is great in these technical clothing for ok prices, shoes I’m not that convinced yet!
I hope the unicorn socks make an appearance!
mmmmmmmmm "a load of chips and a milkshake" 👍
Why Sky over Edge? Everyone says Edge is better for cadence and heel to mid foot strikers. I'm a bit confused... Think I am a cadence runner and mid to forefoot striker.
They haven't been sent the Edge
Still waiting to test the Edge yep

Why bring water? More than halnlitre😅😊 will be water on the course from organisers??
I don’t bring water, it’s a high carb sports drink
@@TheRunTesters anyhow, is there free isotonic on pit stops,? Usually all marathon starts have it
They're now called Kiprun 900?
They've rebadged them you fool! 😂
Seriously tho, best of luck @NHF! Will be tracking you (not in a weird way)
Hahaha, cheers!
I'm slightly confused about the 320 in soft flasks. 500ml of 320 mix in 3 250ml flasks (166ml 320 per flask), is that right?
No all the soft flasks are full, I mix up two bottles of the Maurten, drink the left over either night before or in the morning
@@TheRunTesters Thank you that makes sense. Any issues carrying 750ml of fluid, that must weigh a fair amount?

How hot was it in 2018?
About 24 degrees I think
So how much sodium to you take in during the marathon?
But no pants save weight
I use those shorts too and they’re the best 😃
