Swiftwick socks will most likely always be my sock. Great for sprint runs, marathons, cold weather, and warm running weather. Never had a blister or anything and so comfy.

I like Rockay socks. Wore them for an Ultra recently and had no issues, very comfortable and protective. I also like the Enertor socks for shorter fast runs.

Ive just been watching this video for ideal socks for running. I do however love compressport socks
They sre fantastic for running pressure dots and they never move or pucker 😊

I'm one of those people that never ever wear socks to run...and I live in Chicago so the weather is frigid in the winter and all I do is complain until Spring. I think I'm going to dive into this weird world of socks for the winter months. Thanks for the vid!

Finding great socks both comfortable and stylish is an endless task especially if you're on a budget. I use my Fox mountain biking socks during cold winter runs and they're great. I also have Outway socks, they're okay but not as cozy as the Fox.

I use Darn Tough No Show Tab Light Cushion socks. I thought they were popular, but after watching the video and reading the comments, I am guessing not. Wonderful socks and work well for me.

HI Nick. just interested to know what version of Sporck socks you use for the marathon. is it the Ultralight version rather than their marathon specific sock they have

My fave are CEPshort/crew/compression socks for a bit thicker sock and for race shoes I love Stox thin compression socks or the very simple no show socks from Asics - the ones that come in a three package

I’m big on the Nike Spark socks, chushoned for marathon and half and lightweight for 5k/10k.
Also like the SHYU and SAYSKY ones but my go to daily socks are from Danish Endurance.

I wore Wright double socks for years with great success with only a couple blisters and only lost one toenail in a marathon and that was due to a new model of shoe that was a little smaller than previous model. Couple years ago switched to xoskins toe socks with great success and now only wear Wright socks over the toe socks when it’s really cold and wet.

I second the Wrightsock. For extreme cases (ultras) I'll wear them over a silk sock liner (Fox River).

It's so novel to see the underside of socks that aren't covered in dog hair (like mine always are). I am tempted to get some CEP compression socks. I do love my Monkey Sox (ankle and knee length) which I've worn for marathon distance. Please do a review of running gloves for people with raynauds or similarly very cold cold hands!!!

I can answer to that and it is a yes. Your feet are held tight in these. I have 3 pairs. It is an expensive brand but they are very durable and the best feeling socks I have ever worn in about every aspect. Feel, durability and just overall quality. And they don't get stinky because they are treated with some kind of anti-odor.

The owners of the companies that manage to sell socks for USD 60 a pair must be having constant stomach cramps from laughing and blue hips from rolling over the floor while they do so.

Do running socks make a difference? My go to socks for years have been the free ones you get when travelling biz class (when I can upgrade) on JetBlue, and for racing I wear a pair of lightweight Assos cycling socks. I’ve never tried running socks before - what am I missing?
Suggestion - it would be great if Run Testers would have segments answering viewers’ questions.

    • @Kaisersozze
      @Kaisersozze 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I imagine cycling socks and running socks are the same and it's just mainly marketing. I just would not wear cotton socks. If you're an avid runner why not just buy a pair and see sounds like you've got a job to afford a pair of socks haha.

I like to buy a 6-pack to 10-pack of socks because you lose socks from time to time and having the same means that you can lose a few without winding up with a single. So I have old New Balance nylon socks which are super-thin - I like these when it's hot but they stopped making these ages ago. I also like the Costco Puma sock and I think that they come in 10-packs. I also have the Kirkland (Costco) Merino wool socks (6-pack) for colder temperatures. The Puma socks are about $1/pair and the Merino about $2/pair. I got the New Balance socks for about $1/pair on a closeout. I'd actually like some discussion on why high-end running socks are better than commodity athletic socks as I imagine it is hard to describe what the advantages are in detail.

I used to think the same until I increased my mileage and ran more track. I value sock quality now so much more. Having run in good quality socks I am not going back. My personal favourites are the CMP Trail Socks.

I was getting blisters with the standard type of athletic sock you are mentioning then switched to a Balega pair (though I was slightly disgusted at paying £15 for a single pair) and the difference was like night and day. They’re that comfortable it feels like slipping into a pair of slippers and blisters completely gone.
