Everyone focuses on Grog because 'fix him' is such an emotional moment but until someone pointed it out to me in a different youtube comment I never noticed Vax rocking Scanlan like a child.
No but actually like especially with the Grog “fix him” when I first watched this I had been blessed to not have faced the death of someone so close to me, but eventually I did face death to happen and the two times I did my base reaction was to demand someone to fix them. And I mean I wasn’t even thinking about Critical Role when I said that it just sort of came out and I was like damn
How interesting it is to watch the emotions of Laura Bailey)) but of course in the cartoon the battle was more epic =) Although of course it felt that the plot was different from what was at the table, and starting from the 7th episode.
The differences between revivify in DND and the lore surrounding death and resurrection in the show make sense for their respective mediums, but at this point in the narrative these changes are affecting story beats. This is okay, and if anything I am enjoying seeing how both stories diverge, it makes me want to rewatch C1 tbf. It feels like we are watching slightly altered versions of these characters, where the weight of Percy's death and absence is more widely felt, but where they never humilate Scanlan after reviving him, so we never get that dramatic ending. I am liking where the show is headed, though I hope that the Scan man can properly lose his shit at some point later, he deserves it.
damn, I would love them to keep the Thordak song in the show, this would be so absurdly funny if Scanlan just burst out that song mid fight to inspire someone (else than Percy because he wasn't a part of the battle in the show)
Can anyone give episode numbers? I cant fine any episodes numbers to tell my friends watching the campaign when they can watch the show without spoilers. Spoiler guides online are wrong
Ressurection is harder on the show, and Percy's soul, at the time, wasn't available due to the Shadow Demon's use of firearms for souls. They make a point of killing the only person on the show that even knows the ritual, lol.

I'd completely forgotten both Cash and Zahra were there at the table during those events. Thank you for this!

Why didn't they resurrect Percy in the animated show? That's what happened in the campaign.
I believe they said they wanted to make death feel more like a real threat. It certainly made a huge plot point.

I haven't followed the campaign, but Percy does get resurrected S03E12
