  • It’ll have been 35 years since the first release from Cannibal Corpse (their demo in 89), so what I want to do is cover one song (probably some of the most popular one) from each album one by one to celebrate the evolution of the band. Also that way, I’ll have done one from each album (I still have to cover something from Butchered at Birth and Red before Black). I’m also going to see them again on September 29th in London.
Here’s an oldie but a classic. Surprised how I haven’t done this already, but here it is. A Skull full of Maggots. This one technically covers both the demo and Eaten Back to Life, since I think Skull full of Maggots was the first Cannibal song conceived (it’s definitely the title that made Metal Blade take notice). This is in many of their setlists, usually nearer the end of the sets. These earlier Cannibal songs will be a bit harder to keep up with at times because of no metronome. As for the parts in this song, they’re really simple, yet the speed makes it difficult (oh and you know, no metronome).
Guitar used: Solar V1.7 FRC in A# standard (10-49+70 D’addario XLs)
    Pick used: Tortex Sharp 1.35mm
Recording used: Focusrite Scarlett Solo through GarageBand then edited in Splice
