Great video, I’ve watched most of your videos and they’re great to watch. Just fyi if you ever buy another Lexus cert pre owned or if you buy Lexus luxury maintenance care. With both of those programs Lexus IS pretty lenient with the service expiration and allow an automatic grace period of 12 months after set expiration so you could’ve dragged that service out a little more if you had wanted to! Most advisors won’t tell you.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy them. I actually called 3 different dealerships asking if I could take my car in past the CPO date for the 70K service or get a voucher for that service to do at the normal mileage interval and all of them said they couldn’t, even my normal advisor who always took care of me so I thought it was some corporate policy. They all told me I didn’t have to get it done by the exact 2 year date but had to do it be the end of that month. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
How do those recalls work? I am looking a 2008 Matador Red ISF with 95k but, is it too far in mileage to get it serviced for those type of recall issues like the airbags, melting dashes, etc. : /
I believe the dash panels cover all years but you’ll have to take it to the dealership to have them inspect that they are melting. Airbags would be any model that had the Takata airbag, this is a safety issue and should be taken cared of by the dealership who will verify via the VIN number.

I have changed the left rear brake light-unit two times (also water leaks) and I am now in need of a change of a timing chain because Audi claims this has been stretched. I got to know this when a message on the dashboard was complaining about a hybrid fault. The car has only gone 14.000km (22400 miles) and It has already made me sick of it. This is probably a dumb question. How does this car compare with say a Camry in terms of daily driving comfort? Is it fairly comfortable for a day trip or is it fairy stiff and bumpy? Note I have a 2010 Honda Civic so that ride is just fine for a day trip. My wife has a 2016 Lexus RX 350 which of course is the king of comfort in our household for a long trip
My 2012 is good for daily driving with just the lowering springs in front. It’s the earlier year suspensions(‘08-‘10) that a lot of people complained about. I just did a 500 mile road trip and was comfortable but nowhere close to as comfortable as an RX350 would be.
I just got my ISF last Friday the car is amazing so far the only modification I done was I made it into true dual exhaust and added an x-pipe I ordered the Joe Z intake and then I plan on adding the RR racing oil catch can and getting the RR racing handheld tuner just wanted to know have you ever did seafoam on this car so far I cleaned the throttle body and the mass air flow but I want to know what vacuum line to use to seafoam this car and even do you think it's a good idea?

First gen is300 or isf ? Which one to buy? I've already owned a 300 and it got totalled, but it was the best car I've ever driven. Only thing scaring me is the gas mileage of a v8
How much should i be paying for a 2012+ and with how many miles? Should i look for a dealership or private seller (if they work payments)? Appreciate your videos and honesty.
There’s a lot of variables but I would look to see how the car was taken cared of via maintenance records. I would recommend a pre-purchase inspection to give you some piece of mind and check out what other comparable vehicles are going for in your area.
Depends man. ISF’s are the Supra’s of Lexus so in a few years I wouldn’t be surprised if their prices increased. I say get one while you can. Price doesn’t matter if you love the car. Paid a little over 30k for my 2011 with 98k. Red is a rare color though. No regrets.
Have had mine for 4 years. Extremely reliable. Oil temp issue seems to be solved if you go to MOTUL oil I used to run Castrol Edge and Mobil 1 but Motul seems to keep it very cool. My original radiator was leaking a slight bit so I changed it. There were only 5500 or so ISFs in the states so definitely keep the value will not come down
Great to hear you've had a similar experience. Regarding the oil temp issues, have you personally ran your car on a road course for a full 20+ minute session at full throttle on an 80+ degree day and not had any oil overhead issues with the motul oil? If so that would be great to hear as I would love a fix that doesn’t include the known fix of having to buy and install an auxiliary oil cooler. Thanks.
@@ISFASTER I'm not gonna lie I havent done an courses yet so I would not know if that made a change but I do highway pulls with buddies in Mexico 😁 and I have noticed after high mile an hour runs with the motul the engine oil temp stayed mostly at 3 bars maybe 4 if it's a hot summer night but when I used to run the other stuff especially mobile 1 my temp would get high like 5 sometimes 6 bars 😬 I def noticed the engine oil runs cooler with the Motul. Idk what oil you used but Mobil 1 would get hot fast. The sikky guys told me to run motul 8100 and it's been staying cool since
Thanks for the honesty and feedback. Most of the time when I ask those follow up questions nobody replies. Those are the conditions I’ve had the oil temperatures issues on this car. All other times when drag racing, canyon driving or normal daily driving I have never been able to get the oil to max temps and that’s because it’s hard to run the car that hard for that sustained amount of time anywhere aside from a road course.
@@ISFASTER exactly I live near a course Summit point I may go there to really test the limit of the ISF. I need to see about getting to track. The only thing I have done is intense highway driving. But I am not sustaining high triple speeds for many minutes like you will experience on a track. I'm actually curious on how the motul would handle and other aspects will be under that type of stresss
Hows it look and what were it’s maintenance records? Could be a good buy, compare it to what others are going for in your area. Good luck on your search!
Good Video! I'm just about getting my next car and like you I'm choosing between IS-F, C/E63, Panamera or an RS6. Very difficult decision. I've already had an M5 and an M3. The two things I don't really like with the IS-F is that the styling is a bit too blend and I would like a bit more juice than 423Hp. Any more advice? Cheers!
Choosing between those cars is a nice problem to have! I think you will do well to go with any of those cars but aside from the C63 the Lexus will be smaller than the rest. I’m guessing you’re in Europe since you mentioned an RS6, those are awesome in the avant form and I think one of the best all around cars!
Hello! Great story about the experience of ownership. I have almost the same thoughts about this beautiful balanced car. Tell me please, if of course you know, thinking about one unusual question. Do you think it is possible to buy a regular is250 and transfer all possible details from a broken isf into it? The base is the same and all the sites are firm? In fact, the body is completely the same. Thank you )
I understand. I am just interested in the technical side of the question of whether full transfer to the base of the IS250 is possible. I do not live in the USA, but in my country the tax on cars with 423 hp is so high that it is cheaper for me to buy is250 and bring the whole isf from Japan) I want to fulfill my dream))
Brake rotor/disc costs are one of the reasons I'm looking at ISF's instead of RS4's/M3's especially as I do most of my own work on my cars. When I checked prices it works out about £60 for a 360mm ISF rotor and £390 for a 365mm RS4 rotor. Both are steel so it's a ridiculous difference!
Yeah, I couldn’t believe how cheap one could buy the rotors for, especially when I saw how much the dealerships are charging people, such a huge mark up!
The major suspension upgrade came in 2011. You’re getting much more than an upgraded suspension between a 2010 and 2013. I would suggest driving both to see which you like as an overall package and if you perceive the additional cost to be worth it. 😁
ISFASTER thanks. I know i should test drive, but the problem is the lack of isf in the uk. There are only 200 imported/ of which are 11 onwards, there are less than 50 T.T Hence the struggle. Also when they do show up they tend to sell quickly.
I got rid of my ISF after a year of ownership. It was a fun car but not as interesting imo. I actually prefer driving my Boss 302 over the ISF. My favorite thing about the ISF was the sound especially after putting an exhaust system on it.
Been driving my ISF daily for the last 5 years- even in snow storms. I put snow tires on in the fall and swap to summer tires in the spring. Never had an issue.
Any issues with the engine tick? Some say it was fixed by Lexus replacing valve springs, some say different oil viscosity helps. And any dash issues? I'm really thinking about getting one but the engine tick seems inconsistent.
The only ticks I hear are the normal direct injector noise. I’ve read on CL what you’re referring to but I don’t think I’m affected. No dash issues but if you do there is currently a program by Lexus to replace them for free if they’ve melted.
@@ISFASTER Do you know where I can initiate the process to begin that? I have an '07 IS 250, and the dash and doors are quite melted. I have read conflicting things in forums, some saying it will be free, others saying I'll be charged.

Depends man. ISF’s are the Supra’s of Lexus so in a few years I wouldn’t be surprised if their prices increased. I say get one while you can. Price doesn’t matter if you love the car. Paid a little over 30k for my 2011 with 98k. Red is a rare color though. No regrets.
Comin2gtcha you'll never find a 2012 IS-F for 27k unless it has over 100k miles on it. 2011 to 2014 are between 35k to 45k.
Do it! You won’t be disappointed!
I'm currently looking at a 2010 ISF with 111,000 miles for $22,000. Is this a good buy?
Thank you )
Thanks. I supposed anything is possible with enough money! I really haven’t given that possibility much thought.
What size tire are you running again?
Front - 255/35/19, Rear - 285/30/19
Beautiful car I got 2016 Lexus GS F
Nice. I hope you’re enjoying it!
Does the clutch ever get replaced?
Brake rotor/disc costs are one of the reasons I'm looking at ISF's instead of RS4's/M3's especially as I do most of my own work on my cars. When I checked prices it works out about £60 for a 360mm ISF rotor and £390 for a 365mm RS4 rotor. Both are steel so it's a ridiculous difference!
Yeah, I couldn’t believe how cheap one could buy the rotors for, especially when I saw how much the dealerships are charging people, such a huge mark up!
Yo, what part of Cali do you stay in?
SoCal
Does anyone has any experience regarding 2013 stock suspension vs 2010? Worth coughing up the extra bucks for 2013 or get 2010 and upgrade suspension?
The major suspension upgrade came in 2011. You’re getting much more than an upgraded suspension between a 2010 and 2013. I would suggest driving both to see which you like as an overall package and if you perceive the additional cost to be worth it. 😁
ISFASTER thanks. I know i should test drive, but the problem is the lack of isf in the uk. There are only 200 imported/ of which are 11 onwards, there are less than 50 T.T
Hence the struggle. Also when they do show up they tend to sell quickly.
Now that is rare! Sounds like if you want to get into an ISF now you’ll have to take whatever is available. Good luck on your search!
The registration cost includes the custom plate fee, correct?
Yes, subtract $43 for the custom plate.
I got rid of my ISF after a year of ownership. It was a fun car but not as interesting imo. I actually prefer driving my Boss 302 over the ISF. My favorite thing about the ISF was the sound especially after putting an exhaust system on it.
An exhaust system really wakes the car and sound up on these cars.
Nice car
Thank you!
ISFASTER I been wanting one lol. I hate it when this happens
This along with a Supra would be a great combination to have!
ISFASTER Supra is in my past unfortunately. I’m more into NA cars now :)
You’ll enjoy this one!
Always sexier than the GS F but GS F always angrier
Can anyone comment on how this car handles in snow with all season and or winter tires?
I have no personal experience but I’ve read with snow tires she does alright!
Been driving my ISF daily for the last 5 years- even in snow storms. I put snow tires on in the fall and swap to summer tires in the spring. Never had an issue.
What were you driving before you got the ISF?
Lexus IS200 - European spec only - good grief that thing was slow! 😂
@@ISFASTER That's crazy, I have an IS300. Where'd you live to have that?
I was in the UK
get aftermarket tail lights pleaaase
Nah, I like the OEM look.
I would go to my closest dealership and start from there. They’re the ones that are going to look at your dash to see if they think it qualifies.
You sound very similar to coach Jason Garrett
What are your mods?
X-Force cat back exhaust, Swift Springs, RR-Racing USRS.
Sweet looking Lexus you got there I currently have a IS250 but mine is a 2014. I just subscribed to your channel and I just recently put 2 video on my channel if you like feel free to check it out and let me know what you think and if you like feel free to subscribe to my channel it's up to you.
Evo 9 or isf🤔 which should I purchase? Note to self I do live in a state with snow.
Depends what you want in a vehicle, these two are very different.
Quit all the bullshit and say it like it is your car IS SUPER RELIABLE
She certainly has been.
For sale ?
For the right price! 😁

Kids screaming in the back, lol
What mpg did you get if you drive like a nun?
If you set the cruise control on the freeway you can get nearly 30MPGs.
Dodge still makes N/A V8.

You’re right! I thought about that one after the video.
Boring car.
You’re right, minimal down time and hardly anything to ever fix.
