      Este Vato Pancho Villa Cruz a lot of people knock on the 2008-2009s like they're horrible but hey that's what I can afford right now if I get one. I'm between this and an M3 and I'm all about the Japanese reliability. Sounds like you're very happy with yours. I think I'm getting one!

    They need to bring the ISF back. The RC and GS F are nice, but the IS-F would fly out of dealerships and go toe to toe with the M3, C63, etc.

    • @cashivan
      @cashivan 7 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      TheHvk the ISF didn't sell that's why it's no longer made, why would Toyota stop making a car that made money, the GSF and RCF must be selling way better, or have a bigger profit margin...all about the $$$

    • @hgmailcom
      @hgmailcom 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      TheHvk Agreed. If they can make it for $55k or less they'd be EVERYWHERE. Reliability, resale value paired with performance and luxury. You'd be hard pressed to find a better car for twice the price.

    People that even mention the M3 in the presence of the name ISF are flat out dumb. The Lexus IS wayyyy ahead of BMW in every single aspect. BMW build cars for people who buy them new and sell them a couple years later, Lexus builds cars for people who want to keep them for years and years and then people who want them after that with 100K plus miles

  • @BISCAYNEWAYS
    @BISCAYNEWAYS 7 ปีที่แล้ว +23

    finally! Owned an 08 ISF and loved it - however it definitely has a very Toyota feel when driven at regular speeds, which isn't a bad thing. Pre 2010 suspension was super stiff (seats aren't the most comfortable either) however suspension was re-tuned post 2010 and LSD was included IIRC. Super reliable, besides a leaky waterpump (known issue on earlier model yrs) it ran flawlessly. The only thing I ended up realizing after a year of ownership was that it had to be driven hard to fully enjoy. The 5L engine only comes alive after 4K RPM. Interior is meh however the exterior has held up well with time. Transmission is awesome with load, however at low speeds its pretty meh. Overall an awesome car for the segment!

One year after that I traded my 2012 370z for a white ISF....BEST decision ever! Do it! It's a fun fast car. While I miss driving a manual, the ISF gives you an entirely different experience.

    • @Tamer39204
      @Tamer39204 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Spiral Architect I totally disagree with you. I drove both cars and each of them was pleasant to drive on the street. I wouldn't put the IS-F above the M3 E92, sooner due to Lexus' limited budget to do something special, which can be seen from the fact that the car is not as balanced as the M3 or it doesn't have such a unique engine, I would put them lower, but it all depends on what you expect from the car. If you want a daily sports car, the M3 is a better choice, if you want a daily that is quick, but doesn't have to give you a racing feel and is more trouble-free, then the IS-F is a good choice. It all depends on what you expect and what your taste is, for me both are great cars

    Just picked up mine in October and really do love it, even if it's an 08. They are gems in the used car market when you can find them for just under $30k, and only see them once a month if that compared to M/AMG cars. Very few issues with these and they make great daily drivers. Can't beat 21mpg combined/28mpg highway, and very easy maintenance schedule. I came from owning G37's, C5 Vette, Mini, Miata, WRX and a few other cars and have to say the F is my favorite. I do miss the manual life, but the 8 speed is surprisingly good and can be as easy as an LS/ES Lexus, or as quick and hard as any DSG. Perfect blend of luxury, performance, reliability and rarity. I do wish there was a wider aftermarket, but then again there were only like 5k of these made. Backseat is pretty small as well and I do feel the looks have dated a bit, but overall a great car compared to several new sports cars. Hell it's still slightly faster than a brand new Q50/Q60RS or 5.0 and isn't any slower than a brand new GSF. Check out my exhaust vid to see a clip of mine.

      LC500 is nice, but a car that competes with the 6 series coupe, which funny enough was just discontinued. GSF is nice for sure, but sadly not really any faster than the ISF, so it's odd in that respect, but a solid car nonetheless.

    • @frf1670
      @frf1670 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      valdaviper1 it doesn't have to be faster than the IS F because it handles way better than the old IS F even with all that weight. RC F on the other hand is a disappointment.

    • @valdaviper1
      @valdaviper1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Francis Fung the 11 ISF put down a better time than GSF at VIR according to CD.

      valdaviper1 bruh car and driver isn't really a reliable source :/ their driver sucks. I'm hoping to see a LC F but I heard they aren't doing anything like that. Honestly Lexus needs a serious performance division and a car like the M2, a light weight small rwd coupe with turbo charged engines. Imagine a Lexus made M2 lol. I'd buy that in a heart beat.

      cczz - Haha coincidence! I traded my 07 e92 335i for a 2011 IS F about a month ago and you'll definitely love it! I put nearly 45k miles on my 335i but I honestly haven't missed my BMW after driving just 1k in my IS F

      @NeokingTech 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you want stick, you only have one option since the IS F didn't come in stick. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with either one. I'd personally stick with the 335i, but I see why someone would go for the IS F.

    That V8 makes it a tempting offer but Lexus is seriously pricey for Canadians on the hole, a new RC F hits over 90K with like just the performance package. So you don't see many used like the IS F. lol

    Its competitors of the same era, the C63 and M3 have mostly turned to dust! I sat in a 2008 ISF in a used car dealership and the interior still looks good and felt solid. They also had a C63 and the dashboard is starting to rattle and the buttons faded.

  • @MirageTactics

      Puff the Magic Dragon the early 2000 gens of the is300 were some of the cleanest looking cars at the time and still beautiful imo. Had one that ran well over 200,000 miles, unfortunately a couple of goof ups put the cost of repairs too high to warrant keeping it.

    I'd compare the LS 460 with the IS F as cars for everyday use. They are not in the same category but as the LS 460 is only one second slower to 60mph and similarly priced. Actually the IS F is holding its value more so the LS 460 is better value for money for used car buyers. The IS F is the cool fun car and the LS 460 is for the older gentleman.
