    i saw the c&o 490 at the b&o railroad museum Baltimore Maryland in the summer last year.

    This is one of the best streamlined locomotives ever made in my opinion.
    I love the way it looks!
    And it's always nice to have highly detailed dome cars!

      Watching this Hudson in these races shows that all the technological advancements used in it's construction has made it quite the powerful locomotive for it's size.

      It's always a shame that the Trainz engine specs suffer from boiler pressure loss. It's even insanely hard to build pressure back up in some locomotives. TS is much more realistic with boiler pressure and it's gain/ loss

      @@TheBroughamGamer Agree! C&O did a great job rebuilding their F19 class Pacific (built in 1926), they put all the state of the art goodies on the F19 and turned them into the streamlined Hudson. The general public probably didn't know The L-1 were rebuilt from some 20-year old steam locomotives! The experiment of PRR#5399 with poppet valve gear and front-end throttle equipped was overwhelmingly successful, the test result probably inspired C&O to upgrade their F19 to L-1 instead of buying new steam engines during the transitional era. : )

      @@TheBroughamGamerThis is probably never can be solved... TS really has a much more realistic simulation script/code, etc. Speaking of e-specs, I note the engine spec of the C&O L-1 Hudson shares the same problem with my PRR S1 e-spec which was seriously, thoroughly edited. You can see I have to start the engine at a shorter cut off first to prevent wheel slipping (Trainz style wheel slipping). This is another issue of Trainz when the user/modeler seriously created an e-spec but have to operate the engine in an unrealistic manner... :P

      And I fully agree with the statement that C&O did a great job with their construction on the L-1.
      I'm greatly looking forward to this year and all that may be brought into the Trainz community.

    I rate the C&O L-1 a 10/10 in my book.
    Unique locomotive, great detail and textures (especially on the stainless steel coaches), and for the inclusion of the original livery for the Chessie Train set and how it would’ve ran (technically this is a fantasy train set because the chessie never ran as a revenue passenger train and only 1 test run was ever done, but with an M1 Turbine instead of the Hudsons). The 7 coach set and its intricate detail fit right in if you’re looking to operate this locomotive on the Hinton Division.

    Definitely my favorite K&L Trainz Streamliner, and I love how they added that cute picture of Chessie the railway kitten on the observation car

    K&l trainz release the l-1 real early I expected a other trainz model that k&l trainz are working on I did’t think it will be this

    Any others trains have 490 bell like a2b 556 any others trains have 290 bell b&o P-7 have the same bell like up Challenger 3985 3943 3976

    The new train you should have 2195 2196 2198 2260 2262 American interior route have the same sound like 834 837 838 844 836 known as 844 and nkp L1 170 173 175 that have 290 whistle and bell and sound

    Isn't C&O 490 the only Hudson that was preserved?

      ATSF's 3463 is also preserved. She was a very capable ATSF Hudson built by Baldwin with 84" drivers, you could find more info about her at csrail.org : )
