Fight For Freedom - Reading 2101 Vs D&H 302, SP 4449, PRR M1b (Trainz Race)

This is a 3-part video of former Reading (Reading Company) 2101 4-8-4 challenges some famous 4-8-4s and heavy 4-8-2 mountain type steam engines in Trainz Simulator (T:ANE). We picked the American Freedom Trains for the first train racing video this week. If you always pay attention to the news, you probably know why! 🤓

Man you got to love the versatility between so many different types of the same wheel arrangement! The Reading seems to be a pretty good all rounder.
I would say that the 2nd race was my favorite from the 3, they were quite close matched.
These races are another great example of the power of some PRR engines, they really set a high bar to beat.

Exactly. The PRR M1b was probably the best answer to the "Super Power" concept from the management of Pennsy. If Pennsy really wanted to go with 4-8-4s instead of other innovative designs like the duplex, they could have upgraded the M1b to a 4-8-4 without encountering any difficulty. The Reading T-1 was another good example of a versatility war baby who was capable of providing a smooth and flawless operation. :D

Thanks! Reading used them in fast freight service and troop trains, passenger trains were handled by their G1-sa, G1-sb, G2-sa, and G3 4-6-2 Pacific type steam engine with 80" driving wheels. : )
