  • The Arcus T4 is the perfect entry point into the world of Arcus bows. It's not only the most affordable offering from these German bow makers, but the T series also feels most similar to traditional pernambuco bows.

Michael, for those of us who cannot afford to pay so much for a violin bow as this one, can you suggest a bow that is between $1000 and $1500 that can sound close to this bow or be as nearly good as this bow?

Hi! This bow actually goes for $1,425.
The Codabow Marquise is another great option: fiddlershop.com/products/codabow-marquise-gs-violin-bow
The Fiddlerman Pro Series Violin Bow would be a wonderful option as well, as it does have some of the Arcus bow qualities at a much lower cost ($599): fiddlershop.com/products/fiddlerman-pro-series-violin-bow

Hello, I just have a question. How do you clean that dark spot on the thumb area of your bow? Also how do you prevent that from happening.

Hi Sergio, if you have a black leather grip on your bow, it's pretty normal for some of that to wear off and degrade over time, and it will need to be replaced eventually. If there's rosin build up, I would just recommend using a dry cloth to wipe off excessive rosin, but I would generally avoid using cleaners or liquids just to limit the oxidation that could start affecting the metal wrappings and ferrel etc. If there's a lot of sweat from your hand causing issues, a lot of players use surgical tubing, or pencil grips both for enhanced grip, and also to protect the bow.

But 50 grams I think it's too lightweight
