When I did my late night full rides, you don’t know how many people told me how unsafe it is to do a full ride at that time of night. I did the 2, 4, 5, A, E, F, and N lines and I have to say, it’s pretty good. Homeless people can’t bother you if they’re sleeping. And there’s an actual decent amount of people riding the train as late as 2:00 AM on some lines.
Great work! About 5 to 6 years ago, back when I was in my second year at Stella and Charles Community College, I used to work evening shifts as a theater usher at a theater near Times Square. I get out at 11 PM each work shift and funny enough, New York City sure does remain busy and productive too, therefore retaining its reputation as the city that never sleeps 24/7 haha! Given the amount of times I rode the Q, 2 and 3 trains as a few express train options I had each time I finish my evening shifts, it’s safe to say for sure that New York City is generally still safe, especially late at night, although it can feel a bit eerie at times. There was this one time though, I once witnessed a homeless guy with a shopping cart napping on a 2 train I once happened to be on when it was still running via 7th Avenue express in the evening (and technically early late night) hours, but I don’t really let it hold me back from heading home from work. Anyways, the main reason why New York City at night is portrayed as ‘dangerous' but sure does give off an 'eerie' kind of ambience is mainly owed to the fact that many businesses close anywhere in the evening hours, or hours earlier before evenings, for the day, and the crews, employees and other kinds of workers, whether they are part-timers, contractors, per diems or full-timers, need their break. While it does give criminals opportunities to strike, there’s really and generally not much activity going on with New York City late at nights. I really want to give late night rides a try again, but my family discouraging me from going out late at night is the major hurdle here but it’s whatever otherwise lol. Anyways, for you to have all that courage to be out late at night to showcase what life outside in New York City late at nights is like and how it feels, I must send in a major kudos to you for it! Keep up the good work and never stop the grind anytime! 🫡😎🤝🏻✌🏻
Remember what you see in the news is not always true, things happen but not at the rate the news make it seem; they have to tell a story. For the most part you will have a trip with no problems.
Late at night is like waiting for the train to come in the next 20 minutes, as well as the homeless riding out late at night for shelter. I know so because I experienced it when I used to get home late from work
@@synacol_werj eh almost every train running in service overnight is full of them during midday not really since sometimes dispatch try's to take the train that was in service overnight out of service

I’ve never taken the subway at night. I wonder what horrors happen.
@transitcaptain wasn't bad at all.
I've taken the train at 5am it isn't as bad as it says just stay aware of your surroundings
🚇🚂❤️ Simply the best!
Thank you 🙏
