Nick, as the proud new owner of this very boat, your review was spot on. At last year's FLIBS, I had the great privilege to go over the design features with Riviera CEO and Belize designer, Wes Moxey. By paying attention to VCG and engine placement not only is she a beautiful design, but also one of the better-performing boats in the Riviera stable under 60 feet. Even at $2.1M, the attention to detail and high-cost materials is only made possible with the lower cost and highly skilled Taiwanese labor. She shared a boat ride across the Pacific with a Hunt 63 which hopefully says a lot.
Hey, that's awesome! I think it's a bit of a connoisseur's boat, not everyone will get it, but those who do get it, really get it. Thank you for letting me film your boat, and I hope she brings you huge joy (I'm sure she will). 🙂
Hey James, would you be kind enough to answer something I've always wondered, please... Having bought the boat, why do you allow it to be shown at a boat show? From your perspective, it's presumably preferable not to have the public touching everything on your pristine vessel. So is participation at the boat show a stipulation by the builder at the purchasing stage, or is there a discount for allowing the boat's use? Thanks in advance, Rich
@@richryan76 Most builders provide some level of compensation to owners who allow use for boat shows. On some coveted models, boat show participation may be contingent for the sale.
Isn't this boat lovely? The Riviera factory is a little drive down the road from where I live (about 170km). I've followed Riviera for many years now and it's brilliant to see them putting our boats like this one that are on par with the best the world has to offer. Many years ago I went on a tour through their factory and the one thing I remember was the sense of pride that everyone I spoke to had about their operation. Great to see Riviera featuring on Aquaholic more often. Thanks for the video!
I have loved the 54 Belize Daybridge since the first time I laid eyes on it. Love the Aussie practicality in function but what really blows me away is how absolutely gorgeous she is in person. They are truly breathtaking. Believe it or not, I'd do the Great Loop in this boat! Her 3ft 6in draft is perfect and her bridge height is 18ft to the top of the hardtop. Since she's a Riviera, she's made to take on the rough seas around Australia. Thank you for a great video!
Enjoy all your tours but it is nice when you find a boat where they do things just a little bit differently. Great tour & intriguing boat. Thank you for straightening the wheel! I hate people using the volume/power button on my car stereo as it means the little line doesn't sit vertical, I have to always use the steering wheel controls for volume to prevent this catastrophe!
We do that with Marianne's car! You have to turn the volume all the way down and keep rotating till the nob is vertical again, then up on the steering wheel buttons.
@@AQUAHOLICI think the car manufacturers need to take a leaf out of Princess Yachts' book & have a weighted center that always rests upright but sways about a little as you go round corners 🤣
I like the Satin finishes on the wood. High gloss may look fancy, but it causes a lot of glare and reflection from the sun making it hard on your eyes and difficult to find a good place to sit without being blinded by the light.
Of all the motor yachts you have reviewed, I think this is by far the best, beautiful design and attention to detail, if I had the money, this is the one.
Nick, I have to say, you always knock these out of the park! I'm normally a trawler/long range cruiser guy. This is really well laid out. I really really like it. Looks like she'd do really well at higher latitudes. Wonderful!
This boat,by far, is one of my favorites. I absolutely love the helm position being more centered. It looks (and maybe feels) Star Trek’y. Also, the layout of the entire boat seems perfect for either just a day outing or for a long weekend cruise up and down the coast. Wonderful video Nick!
Hi Nick, And thank you for this very nice show of this Riviera Belize 54 Daybridge a great looking yacht I like the cockpit with the little bar with chairs nice but also the little bent windows and sliding door to the salon and everywhere all that stainless steel looks great Thanks again Nick that is a great start for this week ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I can see why you're taken with it, light well laid out interior, attention to detail, impressively solid build quality, the Aussie equivalent of a Princess, one of the best flybridges this size you've shown us.
Indeed a very cool machine Nick. For me, this yacht has the feel of yachts from the 2000 and on, but combined with modern solutions and efficient use of space. Excelent tour, even with the horneys 🥳
My favourite new boat - very refreshing change from the big 3 builders. The round hatches remind of sunseekers 20 years ago, the curved screen of late 90s sealine fly bridges, then the deep side decks and that’s sports fisher style combined make something I think much chicer than the more modern common vulgar designs
Perfect. Such a nice day here, and this is the perfect video. Cheers Nick. Edited to add: I wish I was at a boat show right now, but I’m happy being there via TH-cam and Aquaholic.
I've always liked the look of Rivieras but have never seen up close. Thanks for us this stunning example of the breed. The Aussies certainly have sorted out how to build a boat for boaters.
This is a cracking boat Nick, absolutely loving all of the small details that you pointed out and as you say they make such a difference to the complete package and usability. Very impressive.
Sir, I enjoy your passion. They're all the same. You can argue that as long as you like no matter how much you mix up the delivery during your videos. I get you're trying to make a living... You know that every single video you post is pretty much the same.
You're quite right. But it's the same with car reviews, every single car, identical - 4 wheels, seats that face the front, doors on the sides. And what's with houses! Roof on top, kitchen, bedrooms, yawn. Music!!? It's just noises, right? Being made by people banging things or plucking things. So dull. And don't get me started on food - you take it off your plate and you put it in your mouth and chew it! All of it identical. Dunno why we bother, could just have one sort of boat, one car, one house, one song to listen to and one meal. Job done. You should run for president, I'd vote for you. Talking of which, why do we have different political parties? All identical, all people in suits, all talking about issues. Only need one, sort that out too! Vote MaRINoL !! 👍🏻
Thank you Nick. I've mentioned it before that Riviera is one of my favorite brands. Riviera doesn't get enough coverage IMO but you're helping out with that. They build quality boats which are practical/versatile that you can actually take out to sea. They aren't just expensive dock decorations.
A very full featured boat for it's size. I seems much bigger. The lower deck accommodations look really comfortable and considering the head room over the master bed is a little compromised is really no issue at all. There is plenty of room to lay down and sleep or sit up in bed with that proverbial good book. Great boat and great video. Thanks Nick.
Hi Nick, I agree it's a boaters boat, less reliance on electronic gizmos and more physical input in the wind up table/galley window and non slip teak sole flooring. The getable systems all so important if you have a mechanical problem at sea. After all there is no AA/RAC hard shoulder rescue areas 10 miles out. Cheers DougT (the picky one)
After seeing so many European yachts on your channel I must say this boat has left its impression on me. Everything looks at least twice as thick and solid and the materials are easy on the eyes and, apparently, also nice to touch. The small layout choices they made also feel like a breath of fresh air compared to most European yachts of this size. Not sure if it's better or worse, but certainly different. While I do think the price is pretty high for the length, this boat seems worth it. Thank you for giving us this tour, Mr. Burnham. 🙂
What a beautiful, well-thought-out and well-built boat! I really like it. Excellent tour as always, Nick! It looked like the tender garage had an electric winch forward and something that was maybe a well for the outboard to sit in, or maybe just a big drain.
This might be the nicest looking 40 to 55 foot range boats (engine powered) I've seen in awhile. It has a fantastic range as well, this would be a fantastic boat to bring out for a weekend with the family or a few friends and enjoy some time out on the water together. I think it would be just about the perfect option for a quick hop to something like Catalina from Los Angeles for example.
Another great Aussie boat Nick! It's a peach.....a very handsome craft with lovely lines... and practical too....and well made ..... Flybridge seems a bit silly but each to his own..... Nice boat. Great review. 👍
Beautifully built & much bigger than it looks, very nice! 👍🏻 The only bit that doesn’t work for me is that left handed IPS control - I’d crash before I got out of the Marina! 🤣
That seems in an odd place to me to get around it but maybe it’s handy to stand beside the seat as well? Didn’t occur that left hand would be awkward, but you’re right! I just thought it would make more sense between seats so 1st Mate could get a crack at it too.

Nick, I thoroughly enjoy these videos. Hopefully you're making bank on these, and eventually you'll find yourself on a 60+ footer doing fantastic travelogues in a wonderful retirement.
Stunning "little" yacht! One of my favorites for sure! I do think that engine room looks really cramped and the access door to it seems quite small. Thank goodness we spend more time on board than in the engine room! :-)
First. Really Great video Nick. I find this boat brilliant and beautiful, really one I would like to own. I wanted to sail up the Norwegian fjords and let myself be impressed by the overwhelmingly beautiful nature. The same way we did when I was a child. It's incredible how you remember the good experiences you had when you were very young.
Great review and I would say almost perfect for the size, I'd probably go for the bimini but that's just personal choice. It's great to see a genuinely different approach to a very congested market segment. Glad you found the 'undies' drawer, which got me to thinking..... To any boat owner that might have Nick reviewing your boat; please (please please please) plant some bondage gear in some random drawers just to catch Nick out - I'd pay good money to watch that review 😁

yes the maniual hydraulic lift arms that hold it open loose pressure over time they then will not be able to hold it up they will have to be replaced at some point just look at tailgates on cars that slam closed after they fail
Hi Nick. I've often wondered if there are mechanical bypass options for things like the tender garage door/hatch if there were to be a power failure. Thanks for the tours!
I love your eternal positivity Nick...obviously you can't make a review on a new boat and say "I don't like this, I don't like that"......but I can. For $2 million you can get a whole lot better than this...albeit second hand, but only 5 years old. For $2 million I could buy a trawler yacht that would have double the comfort, a range of 5500nm, sleeping for 6, an office, a better flybridge, and a more comfortable galley and helm. In fact a much better boat. But that boat would have been made in Taiwan...perhaps this boat was made in Australia....and that is the difference in price I guess...?? Anyway, it's always a joy to see yachts and you make great yacht tours...
Really like this boat, the finishes are superb, layout is pretty nice, ton of cold storage, and while not ideal, the decreased headroom in the Master suite isn't a killer for me. Only drawback is the engine room, servicing those engines as an owner operator going to be a pain in the arse given that layout. Otherwise, loved this boat.
Love the boat……. apart from the flybridge with a hard top above it. As you say, it’s all optional….. so I would opt out. As with a lot in my opinion, for the hull length, in its layout as shown, it is top heavy to my eye. In reality, it’s probably perfectly balanced…..🙂 Superb fit and finish/use of space……. 🙂
Lovely boat, fantastic tour. Your enthusiasm is infectious. My favourite bit ? Lol, it's when you say you'll edit it out later but never do 😂 Nick, have you ever opened a drawer and wish you hadn't?

Love the boat……. apart from the flybridge with a hard top above it. As you say, it’s all optional….. so I would opt out.
As with a lot in my opinion, for the hull length, in its layout as shown, it is top heavy to my eye.
In reality, it’s probably perfectly balanced…..🙂
Superb fit and finish/use of space……. 🙂
Yeah, many boats are to short to look right with a flybridge hardtop.
Looks like Danny Devito
Lovely boat, fantastic tour. Your enthusiasm is infectious. My favourite bit ? Lol, it's when you say you'll edit it out later but never do 😂 Nick, have you ever opened a drawer and wish you hadn't?
No. There was a cupboard though... 😳
