@@ramsesstafford4640 Trash in NBA terms, sure, but an entirely new level of legend as soon as he steps on YOUR homecourt for example. AC Green had a sweetspot, little baseline jumper maybe 15 feet out. It was automatic if he got to that spot, honestly don’t remember him missing from there when he was on the Shaq-Kobe Lakers.
Jeff Green uncle jeff when he was with the nets he was my fav bench player. Respect his hustle love his dedication. His humble personality is what sold me.
As a big celtics fan that I am. I can't tell you the last time I enjoyed listening to play-by-play Like I do today, When I listen to Scalabriny. Dude is really good and with Mike Gorman makes a tandem to be Reckoned with. Celtics🏆year
_sooooo, I guess I’ll say something_ an interesting fact about AC’s streak… He began and ended his NBA career as a virgin bachelor. He was also known to abstain from smoking or drinking alcohol, even refusing to spray champagne for the cameras after winning championships. I think that him staying away from all those distractions helped him tremendously.
When Jeff Green decides to retire and if he decides to do a podcast, the amount of NBA players he'll be able to invite and have stories with would be really interesting. Imagine if it's with Ish Smith.
A.C. Green was one of my favorite players when I was little. Not sure why, he just was. Had his cards too. My friend used to always say people were sleeping on Thaddeus Young back in the day too.
Honestly what’s sad is a lot of these guys we’re not bad at all. A lot even being super consistent. But sadly not being a start and just all around being consistent no one talks about you. They might have averaged decent stats but when you do that year after year and play with absolute legends you end up being forgotten
I met AC Green and the thing that surprised me was how muscular he is; the thing about him being kind (off the court) holds up. He signed all of our autographs.
Its not all about talent. Its also politics, marketability, connections, relationships, luck, opportunity... Etc. as with all walks of life, thats how it goes.
I think it’s funny that we talk about Jeff Green being in the league for so long that he was drafted by the Sonics, but Kevin Durant is also still in the league
You got to Jeff Green and made it sound like he was soooooo old for having been drafted when the Supersonics were still a team. Kevin Durant was drafted for that team, LeBron James came into the league before that, Russel Westbrook was drafted the year they relocated to OKC... they are all still in the league. Duncan, Malone, Stockton, Jordan, Kidd, Nash, Nowitzki, Ginobili all played to 40. Vince Carter was 43!
Anyone who talks trash on an NBA player ,or even a d-league player are in serious need of a reality check. There are something like 500-600 players in the NBA each year ,compare that to the population of the world and maybe gain some perspective on how good these dudes are. Apply that same perspective to every professional sport . But,that's not to say that there aren't people out there that circumstances didn't go the way they may need to go in order to make it to the pros. Like with the guys who don't even get a shot at playing time even after making it, that doesn't necessarily mean they don't possess the talent or potential to succeed
Ingram got done dirty, other G league players with stats not even close to his have had call ups. He deserved more than a make a wish style redemption arc. He should've had a stronger legacy.
Ish Smith raw.. I don't think he's been on a lot of teams because he can't ball ...I just think every team could use a guy like him.. Dude mid range is sleptnon
It's actually insane to think that there hasn't even been a total of 5 thousand players that have played in the league up to now with how long the NBA has been around. The NBA and the NHL have to be THE 2 toughest leagues to break into. Only 5 players on the court/ice at 1 time (6 for hockey with their goalie). 15 players on an NBA roster during the regular season/21 in the offseason compared to a 53 man roster in the NFL, and they can carry up to 90 players during the offseason. So anybody that makes it to the NBA I give major props... bench warmer or not. We as average joes talking trash about ANY elite athlete while we sit at home on the couch just watching while they PLAY has always been hilarious to me. Any NBA bench warmer would wipe the gym floor with any one of us.
