  • This video explains what the allocation method is all about, be it body allocation or hip allocation and also made a pattern using same. it's just the sharing of numbers to the appropriate sides of the body and taking into consideration the bigger part and the flat part. #pencilskirt #skirt #hipallocationmethod #onlineclasses #easysewingtutorial #learning #learntosew

    • @MAKADELFashionSchool
      @MAKADELFashionSchool  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello and thank you. This pattern is already for a pencil skirt except you want it more penciled then you take off something more at the hemline. Now to add zip, you just follow the back seam the way it's shaped and add your zipper following the shape. I think part 2 of that video may guide you on that.

    • @MAKADELFashionSchool
      @MAKADELFashionSchool  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@happinessamarachi4807 that’s because you came out much at the bum area. Like I said in the video, the downside of this method is just that experience you have had if the bum area is too rounded. So if you had like 1.5” left to add to the bum area to complete your measurements, rather use 3/4” which is less than 1” and share the remaining to the sides of the skirt and this will sort out that issue please.

      Sincere apologies for the late response 🙏...I didn't see this earlier. • @jadesolasmile8862

    Thanks for the video ma'am. But my concern is after cutting, because of the difference in hip measurement, (that is subtracting 1inc from the front and adding to the back), the back bodice was wider than the front bodice on the hip area. So how does one join the back and front together?

    • @MAKADELFashionSchool
      @MAKADELFashionSchool  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I really wish I could do a voice over to explain to you better. If you take a tape and measure your front (from side to side at your hip region) it will be definitely less than the back because of your bum at your back. So if you have 19 in front, you may have 20 or more at the back. Having said this, if you make your pattern and cut, the back skirt may be bigger than the front, don’t panic. Pls join it together first and wear it and see if it fits or not. That’s why I recommend you take a calico(muslin) or any cheap fabric and make a prototype (mockup) cut it and see fully, then let’s see the outcome first. You can also chat me up on the school WhatsApp number 08037134216 if you still don’t get it and pls let me know you are from here and it’s about the Skirt.

    • @MAKADELFashionSchool
      @MAKADELFashionSchool  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you 🙏 your half length being 2” above your navel does not make the hip depth(waist to hip ) to have a constant number. From my own experience over the years, I still take a measurement of my waist to hip.
      Now to help you and professionally, you should tie a light rope at you clients waist level where you have determined to be the half length ( a trick I use atimes is ask your client to bend her elbow, now where that cut of the elbow is aligned to your waist is your half length, tie a robe here or use as elbow is bending, place a tape from that point downward to the part of the hip that starts protruding and that is your hip depth. Some people from the waist especially slim ones, can be 7” or 8” and others can go from 8”, 9” to 11” for those with lower hip level.
      So for me I don’t have a particular number for waist to hip like if the hip is 45, use 9” I don’t do that because it doesn’t work for me. I take the proper measurement to determine the number.

    Ma pls is the bum method only for the back side only or for both front n back?🙏

    • @MAKADELFashionSchool
      @MAKADELFashionSchool  ปีที่แล้ว

      The bum is just for the back side to just give you an enhanced bum bum. That’s why the major calculation goes to the back but pls if you get confused, share it equally, it still works well.
