The are both very similar, they have almost the same personally, and they both loved someone that they thought they wouldn't end up with. In the end, Jack did fall in love with Sally and they got their happily ever after. But Emily decided to let the love of her life be with someone he cared about more 💔 She did become free to go to heaven but still all she ever wanted in life, and death, was to find her true love, which she never got. Her story is heartbreaking
Nichel Bryant Emily was tricked by Lord Barcus into falling in love with him, and when her father didn't approve she planned to run away with him and waited in the forest for him.
