Excuse me but can we just have a moment of appreciation for that last high note? Like HOW???? I literally just went and found the original song and THAT high note isn’t much easier so it’s not just the nightcore. MAD respect for the woman who sings this song Like DAMN
When you professional trained for vocals it's easier to do. Now the girl who's singing doesn't straight up sing that note really, she had to go into this rang we singers like to call our whistle tone, it's honestly one of my favorite things to sing in, but it can severely damage ones vocal cords if you sing in it before your voice has fully matured which usually in your 30's, because your voice is constantly changing till that point in your life, which is why the people who sing in operas are so much older, because their voices won't change on them, which can be a very serious problem if done half way through production.

the crazy thing is how covers like this always get Chistine's final note wrong. Hardly any singer can hit a note that high, it was actually made special for the writers wife, thats why christine is such a hard roll to cast

The high schoolers sang this at our fall choir concert they were absolutely amazing. They hit all the high notes. The beginning part gave and still gives me chills.
Imagine at the beginning she's just explaining her trauma of a dude who kept yelling at her and then later on when she's "singing for him" she's actually not even singing for him she's just screaming because the dude is just yelling and she doesn't know what he wants and he's just getting frustrated because she won't sing like he's been asking over and over for the past 30 minutes

OMG the Phantom looks like a character right out of an anime! They should totally do an anime version of this musical :O I think it could be amazing and beautiful, but also kind of tragic too :)
