In 2017, I attempted to ride the entire Baja Divide but I bailed halfway through. It's a humbling route. I returned in 2020 to ride the 2nd half and had the time of my life! It's also where I met John and Mira for the very first time, / mira_la_perra I love Baja, it's a magical place full of stunning landscapes and friendly people. Here's info on the route bajadivide.com

Around 44:02 the child asks you “y tu avión ? Tu avión de verdad?”
Perhaps because most planes live in his imagination, but yours is “real”/material.
A beautiful moment of many in this video. A profound one.

Poor Mike, he had a tough time but he trekked along like a champion after that rest. Ryan, watching your videos without all the junk music that everyone has is always soothing, brings me closer to the nature and get a raw feeling of the challenges you face, and it has made me less lazy and get out more!

    Dear Ryan
    Hello from the UK!
I think I found your channel at the right moment, after getting tired of all social media BS, even limiting TH-cam (choosing what to watch, with a really hard filter) your channel goes straight to my list! Found your channel 2 days ago, just watched the GDMBR and I can say, thank you in advance, you gave me that extra push to get out and explore! To start, I've planned a short 60-80miles (both ways) trip with 1-night camping, just to get a feel of it. Who knows one day I might try The Great North Trail. Thank you for your content, we need more people like you! BTW I didn't find you on BikeSlice, if you haven't heard of it, this is the first cycling focused social platform, it will be great to have you there! Thank you again, be safe and well! Ole Ole Ole

This is a masterpiece. Thank you for sharing your short journey.
Every time I ride I praise the Lord for giving me eyes to enjoy every little detail in on the road. The smell of plants and trees. The wildlife, the birds singing and communicating with one another. The wind and how it sounds different when you go 40mph+. My dream is for my wife to get the courage to ride with me

I know the feeling of euphoria after a bike ride. I used to ride 30 -40 miles on an industrial road in my town- but now it's become dangerous [ too many careless drivers]. I still get that euphoric feeling after 15 miles on a trainer.... a sense of a personal high and a sense of a communal kind of me - ... that's the best I can explain the feeling - I'm sure it'd be more "real -...maybe?" in nature riding.
But, maybe not, because I have had ocular migraines after training "hard" on a bike trainer.... and the colors are the most brilliant I've ever seen in my life. Beats anything you've ever seen l-e-d wise or anywhere.
Not saying to aim for that though ,,, more so , just that the feeling is authentic in either case.

I think you need to take the Priority 600X back to Baja, and do the Cape Loop from La Paz! I watched all your Baja Divide videos as they were first published. In fact, that’s how I discovered your channel. I had done it with the inaugural group start in January of 2017. It was a great way for me to relive my time in Baja. Now, when people ask me about Baja, I direct them to your videos.

Gruelling, breathtaking, soul destroying but most of all heartwarming to see such cameraderie! What a beautiful gesture to pass your bike on to Fernando, you could see in his eyes how appreciative he was! I recently started watching your videos and really enjoy your positivity and drive. This ride seemed like the most painful mentally and physically and to have a mechanical cut your ride 3 days short of finishing sucks... but the way this finished... on your birthday, gifting your bike to someone is the ultimate cool ending. You rock. So good!

I have watched a ton of your videos, but this is the first time to actually watch this adventure. Most Awesome!!! I loved that you gave your bike away on your birthday to the guy at the end.
    Rock On Duzer!!!

What an epic adventure! I love these extended cuts. I know that you're doing this for a living, but the time investment in thinking of and setting up the shots, planning the story, and editing must be massive.

Another awesome job editing your adventures into a movie, Ryan! I marveled at the job you did with getting the background sounds in at just the right levels to mix with the voices and the different video tracks seamlessly. A mountain of detailed work for you, but a great final result for us. Thanks!
Was interesting to see the first half of Baja with Mike where you seem less superhuman than your more recent trips, makes me appreciate Kevin’s journey. Whenever I‘ve bonked it felt like a personal failure, but these videos help me see it as part of the journey. Thanks for that, too.

I really appreciate this kind of content. People share their experiences, you get to see the world. Just yesterday finished your great divide journey. Breath taking sceneries. Colorado, Wyoming, Montana. Places I hope to see myself someday.

I finally finished watching this episode! Wow! Love the lack of "music". Most of these adventures are better with the natural soundtrack.
Great camera work and editing! You met some interesting people, nice! John and Mira were and have become great riding companions.
It was a bittersweet ending. Great of you to donate your ride to that young man. Unless I was asleep, you went north to south on the Baja.
In To Shake the Sleeping Self - by Jedidiah Jenkins, he rides the same path on his way to Patagonia. He catches a ferry to the mainland after reaching the tip of Baja. You are certainly an inspiration by documenting and sharing with us. Thank you.

Thank you Ryan for sharing another one of your adventures. They're a nice escape for those wondering adventurous souls like us that feel trapped at the moment!! Also you're a good man for giving your bike away at the end and without a doubt good karma will continue to find you. Cheers from Florida! ~Ron & Petra
