    I used to walk a lot. Don't get around much anymore. That's where videos like these come in and are great. And your running narration is pleasantly descriptive and informative. Nicely done. Thanks.

    Love your walks. I lived and worked in NYC 50 years ago when I walked these streets So great to see how they have changed during that time. SoHo was all factories where I bought ladies lingerie Today it's the most
    exiting retail street in the world. Thanks for the experience.

    I can't tell you how much I appreciate the fact that you show the different shops and stores. Thanks again Kenneth. Very interesting seeing the things I have never seen. I still say you could give tours. Have reservations and do it once a month just to see if it would work for you. Have a good one.

    Despite the noise, I like the Williamsburg bridge, its structure is impressive with those huge towers and steel beams. It's very long 😱😱😱, I liked it, it has an amazing arquitecture and design.

      You got that right! The Williamsburg Bridge opened in 1903 which was the first all-steel bridge to have steel beams and steel girders. It has two sections for vehicles including the inside and outside levels for each span, and the subway cars to cross.

    19:10 is the walkway entrance to the Williamsburg Bridge. This bridge was opened in 1903, the second suspension bridge in NYC after the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s a decent bridge, but it has two levels including the inside and outside level, and also the first suspension bridge to have subway rails crossing each span. It was the first bridge to have all steel.

    Driver challenging pedestrians in a cross-walks, 1000's of times worse in the South than New York. When I was in New York in 2006 and 2012, everyone was polite and helpful and never had any traffic issue, though, like you, I walked from Times Square to Union Square, then to Tompkins Park where Disney Oscar Winner Bobby Driscoll died.

    Thanks for showing us the Williamsburg Bridge. I'll have to check it out next time I'm in NYC. I just can't walk on the Brooklyn Bridge. I did it once and never again. People were stopping to take selfies every 5 seconds. It would be a great walk if people would just use common sense and common courtesy. People need to treat walkways like streets. You would never stop in the middle of the road to take a selfie, so why do that on a crowded walkway?

    Dude you rock !! I do plan to visit New York 😁 . I have a few questions
    1. What kinda of shoes you wear during your walks ?
    2. Where in Manhattan should I stay , I'm going with my 16 year old daughter. ( Something not to expensive )
    3. Should we buy a metro card and download the app.

    • @ActionKid
      @ActionKid  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!
      1) I mainly wear Rockport shoes
      2) This is up to you. You will have to do your own research with regards to lifestyle and price level.
      3) Yes, I would highly recommend getting a MetroCard as the public transportation system is one of the most efficient ways to travel around the city. You should download an app on your phone for transit changes and maps.

    One each of the towers is a stairway to climb up the bridge. It’s too dangerous and too steep to climb. People will not allowed to climb up the bridge tower, because it was put them in jail, that’s why it’s private property, and there are no trespassing on each of the towers.
    Manhattan Bridge on the other hand had no stairway on each tower to climb. It used to be a balcony underneath the upper level of the bridge’s tower structure.

    Hey what's up with all the potholes and why is the infrastructure so run down? Looks bland and dirty.
    Which is strange since NYC is the richest city in the world with a city budget around 80 billion dollars. That's about the size of Czech Republics government budget or United Arab Emirates government budget.

    • @XxDemB0nesxX
      @XxDemB0nesxX 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The UAE is essentially just one city and that is the mega-metropolis of Dubai, the rest of

      similar when comparing NYC and UAE or really Dubai.
