Here’s my review of Tekken 8. Other than the music sounding a lot like Tekken 6, This game is basically a remake of Tekken 3 from the pre fight character intro to “hit confirm / red mist” being blood red like in tekken 3.
It will depend on which difficulty you choose. I like bashing my head against FG bosses, so I went with Hard and had to replay some of the fights quite a bit. Even then, it shouldn't take more than 8 hours, likely around 5-6 if you play on normal or below.
Haha, true that, but I can't wait for you and everyone else to get your hands on the game. I'm super curious about how the community will react to the story mode, and I want to hang out in the lounge with everybody.
"I hate mechanics, that pause the game and show off some animations!" Someone have to tell them (fighting games creators) to stop doing that stupidity!
I have 1 major problem with the review. The recommendation for someone just getting into Tekken “maybe wait for a sale in a few months” is such a bad way to prospect newcomers. The first few weeks are the absolute best in any fighting game. Everyone is trying out new characters, the new systems, and just generally messing around and having fun. If you want someone new to have fun it is the undisputed best time to play when we’re all learning.
Completely fair criticism, so thank you for expressing it. I think anyone who is not sure will likely try it through gamepass, but when it comes to actually buying it, 70 dollars is a serious price tag for a game unless you're sold on it. I hope going over how good the game would give people a good idea, but I also I would never want to discourage people from joining later. The first few weeks are definitely the best, but Tekken community is so large that a new player will always have someone on their level to play against and have fun.
You had me at Tekken Force returning. Until it went down.... I'll see for myself when I play the game. But man if its true, that sucks Tekken Force still hasn't been perfected. That mode was my shit back when I played Tekken 3 for the first time as a kid. My first Tekken game too.

Everything seems good except for the Tekken force segment you described, hopefully if becomes its own separate mode and gets updated controls/ mechanics.
I had both Tekken 7 and 8 on an SSD and T8 was still going at light speed compared to 7. Any single player stuff loads remarkably fast, but online it's going to vary, obviously, since you need your opponent to load fast too, and that will depend on their setup to some extent.
Definitely give demo a try, if you enjoy how the game feels, it should be a safe bet. If you have gamepass or can get it, it should be on that as well.
I know its a bit spoilery. But does the story give a good conclusion to the mishima feud or does it pull a gotcha! And "wait for next installment" bait?
There is definitely sequel bait there in terms of where the story will go next. Won't spoil anything specific, but I don't think it's something that hurts the resolution of the Mishima storyline. Even if they continue with it, it's going to have to be a completely new direction.
There was only a small window to check out online play, with not a lot of people around, so it's hard to judge. Sad to say that it's just one chapter in the story mode. It's a pretty beefy chapter, and you get to play as several different characters, but it is limited to only one point in the story mode. I highly disagree about the "tediousness" of character episodes in this entry. The endings feel more earned as opposed to getting mostly crappy endings after one measly fight, like in T7.
Yeah this clown absolutely doesn't understand the casual appeal of classic arcade Tekken. I left a dislike and am never watching this idiot's videos again.
@@dickthebirthdayboy2132 Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Morons like you don't realize that Tekken 5 was almost two decades ago at this point. Kinda disappointed about your take on tekken force, I don't know if its much like the Scenario Campaign from 6 since i have not seen it so I cannot tell personally if it feels butchered from it. Scenario Campaign is so underrated and fun and to this day, there is nothing like it! This mode is so slept on and they should have brought it back. What other beat em ups you can play that has a hundred plus martial arts moves and combos against a group of enemies up close and personal? The answer is plainly "none". I really hope Namco creates a spin-off Tekken Force game with every single character from 5 to 7, but with more smoother fighting and controls from the Scenario Campaign mode, it's long overdue. Anyway, Tekken 8 is one of the best entries in the series, hands down, they outdid themselves with this one.
Not big enough sample size to notice something out of the ordinary, but it seems to function fine. My only concern is that hardware variation between consoles and various PCs could potentially lead to some less than desirable situation. Kind of like how Tekken 7 has issues if you play against someone who has bad performance.
Not gonna lie, Tekken 8 story was super disappointing for a MULTITUDE of reasons. One reason is because of how unrealistic it was. For instance, in the fact that Jin is responsible for the deaths of MILLIONS of innocent people including WOMEN and CHILDREN and NONE of his friends give him shit for it. Keep in mind characters like Ling and Asuka are supposed to represent the pure and kind hearted characters, with Asuka specifically having a strong sense of justice, and technically Ling hasn't met Jin since T4 canon wise I believe, so this was a good opportunity for her to show her dissapointment in all the things the man's done while still understanding the necessity of him giving the situation, since he's the only one with the power to beat his father. So the fact that she has nothing to say on this dark subject is silly. Heck, Alisa who outside of Miguel, suffered the most out of cast under Jin's actions in T6, and the guy never officially apologized to her for his evil actions toward herself. Then there's the end of the main story in the fact that there is absolutely no way the surviving countries with their governments would be cool with Jin roaming around after all the crap he pulled. And it doesn't matter if Jin destroyed an even greater evil in Kazuya, the fact is the man has TONS of blood on his hands of people from various other countries and I imagine in a real world scenario they wouldn't let would Jin did slide and demand justice. And the problem is Jin's ending (presumed to be the canon one) sees him getting off relatively easy. I also was disappointed that Most of the cast STILL hasn't developed as characters at all, and are just as one dimensional as Kazuya. Finally, Reina not being foreshadowed in the series at all despite the story signifigance she has in this game and to what's to come is annoying too. I have not been a fan of the story direction of many Tekken games as of late, with it really going downhill after 4, with Tekken 7 currently being the WORST game story wise in my opinion, and agree with MANY of criticisms hurled at it, including Heihachi's motivation being inconsistent for mistreating Kazuya as well. For example, in the original Tekken 1 story line. Heihachi believed his son was too weak to ever inherit his conglomerate, and decided to throw a 5 year old Kazuya into a ravine, and thought that if he were truly strong enough, he would be able survive the fall and climb back up. Tekken 7 retconned Heihachi motivation for throwing Kazuya, which was a test of strength into being about trying to rid the devil gene when that was NEVER a factor in the previous games. I have issue with this, since it not only retcons the previous games events, but changes a fundamental aspect that we know about Heihachi's character, since he's always been shown to be a ruthless self centered character that would do things that he felt worked best for him, and didn't care about ridding the world of the devil gene. Heck , in Tekken 4 Heihachi's goal was to create a new life form by splicing Ogre's genome, and devil gene with his own. The story definitely isn't on par with the likes of BBCF, and GG, and even early MK that's for sure. The gameplay on the other hand is pretty much what you can expect from the series. which isn't a bad thing.
I noticed you skipped over a glaring flaw in player rooms that ive heard from other outlets. They only allow for 1 spectator in the room you cant spectate idly.

I noticed you skipped over a glaring flaw in player rooms that ive heard from other outlets. They only allow for 1 spectator in the room you cant spectate idly.
Tekken 8 is worth the money 💸
Embargo dropped? No gaming outlet has dropped review yet
a couple of channels have before this.
@@BuhngoSaw them now. Reviews all seem extremely positive.
IGN dropped.
New Joel same devil Jin
I want this game, but art style and music is a no-no for me… (
Does Jin and Xiaoyu progress with any romance? 🥺 if so l can you explain a good scene and mark it as spoiler 🥺💞
No smoilers because I think you'll enjoy their scenes, but they do interact more than ever before, and you get to see Jin show his more human side.
@@DashFight okie dokie thank you so much ❤️

12:05 bruh what are you talking about? Tekken 8 does utilize Unreal Engine 5.
The video doesn't say that it doesn't use Unreal 5, it just doesn't use the new UE5 tech, which is Lumen lighting and Nanite meshes.
Heihachi in Tekken 7: Grizzled old man
Heihachi in Tekken 8: 18 year old purple haired girl
You forgot to talk about tekken 8 roster
Not even 2 weeks ago you published a video how Tekken is losing its identity because Victor now exist.
Dude just calm down with your content. Just sit down, play the game a little and enjoy it like the rest of us will be doing.
Does every video need to start with that one cutscene, I just skip it. Everyone has already seen it 19741 times
So not losing its identity ?
Jfc, man, you spoiled some cool moments in the story section of the review...
Thanks Jimmy Kimmel
Any one mk1?
😂😂
Dude just spoiled the first half of the story with no remorse.

bo3 not ft3, there's a difference.
Spoiler.
Everyone became a Jin fan boy in Tekken 8. The main story line is like they got inspiration from the bible. It's a bad move. I expect something original.
we aint never forgetting about that dumbass anime video
5 fights is too tedious for ya for the character episodes? Why do you play fighting games? Lol
nah it's not back so many missing characters
Exactly. Glad Eddy's back, though don't know about the new hair, but no Bruce Irvin.....
bruce haven't came back since tekken 6 and i still don't know why they didn't bring over bob but hey what do i know lol @@RemingtonMiles-sr9uf
Question before I watch this: Does the author whine and moan about the female characters not being ugly again?
All you doing is complaining about the game like it's trash
??????
Did we watch the same video? Clean your ears man.
Fuck you mean, 🅱️?
The story sucked man, nothing was explained and full of more hints and retcons.
Jin becomes freaking Saint Seiya and you say it sucks???
@@gijane2cantwaittoseeyou203 yeah. Could have had a better design, and everything leading up to that was just so tekken storytelling lol
I expected them to level up their storytelling and tie things up but it’s just dumb o’l tekken anime cliché to get to a final fight that felt incredibly rushed and unearned.
@@Tekkenandgaming It's the best story ever in fighting games. If you dont like it, then you are just an arrogant snob. Go play stuff like Last of us or red dead redemption etc and stop giving your shit opinion
@@Tekkenandgaming Tekken was always a big dumb anime cliche since day 1. Are you new?
@@dickthebirthdayboy2132 yeah and i was hoping for more this time…
Why does 90% of this review feel so backhanded? If you can't learn Tekken from this level of resources it isn't for you.
Hey Dash Fight, so what happened to the anime bullshit and stuff?
tf you spoiling for
love letter my ass
the stages are kinda generic like t7 and the customization isnt anywhere close to t6 AGAIN
and they nerfed movement
wait, arcade quest is NOT the only mode that teaches you how to play the game, there's literally replay mode, and practice where you can literally study character moves, and how to properly react to certain situations in a fight.
