Thank you for this simple, music-less, speechless video. The viewer actually picks up on so much detail of the vehicle and its nature by just hearing it work. I wish more content creators made videos like these. You explained a lot about the car just by interacting with it. Sincerely, thank you. Also, for a 10 year old car at the time of filming, those 6 speed autos seem pretty snappy for what they are.
Those E70 Diesels are just awesome driven a couple of those. The Diesel engine is the one to get. Even though they can have egr problems. The Diesel just seems to suit that truck so well. Especially if you do some long drives or tow. I will have to get one as a daily down the road. Just keep in mind I dont own one yet because maintenance is not cheap. Thanks for sharing, and as always great driving.
The repair bills aren't bad just as long as you are proactive with your maintenance, do part replacements by yourself or by using an independent auto shop that works on German vehicles. With these diesels there are kits to delete all of the EGR, DPF and DEF systems to add reliability.

This was a great video to watch. People keep saying that BMW’s are unreliable but really after all those miles it’s much more reliable than our 2018 Mazda CX-9 gt. Since we have put 45000 miles on it we maintenance it every 7500 miles but the screen and electronic parts started going out after less than a year like the middle screen and the car losing power when driving and just shutting down all power off the accelerator. Didn't know you guys had this diesel engine sold there. It seems to actually be a 30d though, by the specs. Don't know why they named it 35d.
Before the facelift in 2010, its named 3.0D or 3SD
The D denotes the twin turbo model with 235 Kws , 315 hp ! Mine has the advantage of the head up display for speed and navigation !
35d engine in europe means 313hp, strange that european 30D is equivalent to US 35d

Too much wind and road noise on the highway, and there were crackling sounds specially when opening the cop holder. Engine seemed loud to me.
It’s because it’s a diesel. Diesels are louder however it’s a good price to pay considering you get more power and better fuel milage.
