    Super helpful! make it so easy to follow. I have a question: When you set up website button click tracking using Google Ads and GTM a in the video, will it track ALL conversions? or only conversions that are generated by Google ads? TIA

    • @TriggerDigital
      @TriggerDigital  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you set it up as a Google ads conversion then Google ads will only take credit for clicks/conversions that it generates. So you might have 1000 clicks on a button, but Google ads only produced 100 of them it will show 100 conversions.

    Thank you for this video. Very helpful. One question though, is this the only way to track text message conversions on Google Ads?

    • @TriggerDigital
      @TriggerDigital  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends. If you have a button “click to text” then yes it can track that.
      You may be able to set up a conversion on a URL too if a user opens a new window and you can place the conversion tag on that url to fire when visited.
      You may also have a thank you page that displays when a user ends a chat, you could set up a conversion ti fire when that page loads too which would give you an idea of how many people actually chat.
      So there are a few ways. Hope this helps.

      You would have to set up that conversion in LinkedIn and then use that as your tag in Google tag manager so that when the button click tag fires it sends that back to LinkedIn as the conversion.

    Thanks so much for the great video mate. Sorry I am a beginner 1) why do we need the "All Clicks" trigger as we already got the "button click" trigger? 2) my Conversion Linker (All Pages) is never fired during preview, the clicks are registered but just not the Conversion Linker... 3) should I do Conversion Linker on "All Clicks" instead or it's not ideal?

    • @TriggerDigital
      @TriggerDigital  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi!
      We need "All Clicks" just to track every click that happens on the site - that way you can identify which ones you want to set up a conversion for by looking at it's unique Variables.
      So when you're in preview mode, clicking around on the site you'll see each click gets tracked - then when you click a button you want to track you look at it's Variables and usually I pick out the "Click Text" as what I want to identify to track.
      Conversion linker - strange that it's not firing on page views... you can try it on all clicks and see if that makes it fire... Honestly I don't really bother too much with conversion linker it's something that google usually just sets up automatically so once it's done I just let it be.

    What if I have another page where I, too, want to track conversion similarly? Should I need to set it up again for a different page,or will it fire the tag throughout the website itself??

    • @TriggerDigital
      @TriggerDigital  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends. If the variable you select is the same then it will fire through it the website. For example, if you use Click Text as your variable and for both buttons “submit” is the click text it will fire through it the website for any button that has submit as the click text.
      If each button has a different click text then it will only fire for that individual button.
      So if the variable is the same it will apply throughout the website. If each variable is different you will need to set them up individually.

    Really good video. There is an issue with this about the click being 'actual leads' because it just tracks the button regardless of whether the user put in details or not. Is there a way to track "successfully submitted form" trigger? My website doesn't redirect to a confirmation page, it shows shows a "thank you" text. How do you track this?

    • @TriggerDigital
      @TriggerDigital  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would get with a developer to see if there is a way to track that text on your site. Really the best way would be to direct to a thank you page so you can just tag that URL. But if that's not possible you could also use a landing page that is only accessible through your paid campaign - that way you'd know all leads that come from that page are from your paid efforts.
      I have come across sites like yours that do not use a thank you page URL and have the "thank you" text displayed - we always change it to direct to a thank you URL to solve for that.

    • @TriggerDigital
      @TriggerDigital  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pikachu-hs5zz To track a completed conversion - meaning someone who has filled out an entire form - a TY page is the only way I know to track it for sure. Even tracking button clicks like I explain in the video may not be 100% because people can click the button without filling the whole form out. You can sort some of that out by only tracking each conversion once, so if they click the button 5 times it still only counts as one conversion but people may click the button and then exit the whole process.
      What system are you using to collect forms? What is your website created with (wordpress)?

    I work for a financial institution that wouldn’t want tag manager installed. They are strict on security & simply don’t want a backdoor access to their code. They’ll rather code go through their webmaster. My question is, can button click conversion tracking be set without tag manager? I hardly see tutorial without tag manager 😢. Pls help out here

    • @TriggerDigital
      @TriggerDigital  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that can be done. To do it this way you will need to work with your webmaster to manually install the conversion action on the button click on the website - as you already know.
      When you generate the conversion event in google ads you will see an option "Install the tag yourself" you will click on that and Google will display 2 tags. The first is the global tag that your webmaster will install in the header of the website - this will apply that tag globally.
      Then you will go to the "Event Snippet" and you can select to have the event snippet fire on a Page Load, or a Click. You would select Click and then forward that event snippet with those instructions to your webmaster.
      Here is an example of what you will see when you select "Click".
      "Click
      Add the snippet to the page that has a button or a link you'd like to track for clicks
      Copy the snippet below and paste it in between the tags of the page(s) you'd like to track, right after the Google tag. Then, call gtag_report_conversion when someone clicks on the chosen link or button.
      Then here is the actual tag - which is different than the tag generated when you want to track a page load."
      function gtag_report_conversion(url) {
      var callback = function () {
      if (typeof(url) != 'undefined') {
      window.location = url;
      }
      };
      gtag('event', 'conversion', {
      'send_to': 'AW-YOURADACCOUNT#/EVENTSNIPPETID#',
      'event_callback': callback
      });
      return false;
      }
      When you generate this in your account, your ad account # and event snippit ID will automatically be generated - I used this as just an example but this is the actual code snippet you would send to your webmaster.
      I hope this helps!

    I select the Click Text which is a call button and it has a number on it. I have that button on all my pages, should I have to set triggers for all pages?

    • @TriggerDigital
      @TriggerDigital  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you set the trigger to fire when that click text (the phone number) is clicked it will fire on all your pages. Anywhere that number is, it will fire.

    • @TriggerDigital
      @TriggerDigital  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You set a tag to fire on all pages when you want something applied globally. Like a retargeting tag or something where the tag needs to be applied everywhere.
      So you apply your Google ads tag to app pages, and your trigger to the click text. If that click text is present on all pages then it’ll fire everywhere.
