I was in a negative mindset before actually playing lost ark and dropped by lvl 40, watched your first vid and i kept goin; now im on tier2 and having a blast
Especially in Tier2 the mmo aspect is just strating with map grouping, knowing the value of gold, doing raids more with group finder in mind and everyone at least knows how to play his class (and has proper engravings). I just dropped into tier 3 and now the real grind can begin. But im absolutely open to it - but will play more relaxed than the way to tier 3. At least: Stuff I do now matters. So gear matters while you where almost everytime outgeared in T1/T2 for the stuff. I will really miss my 2x tier 3 engraves. But so it begin again. And my gold twinks can relax now a bit. :)
Yeah, Peon is right, levelling up to 30 so far is very linear & boring. Mrs & I are super-shlomos (not quote lvl 25!), exclusively duoing a Gunslinger + Soulfist. Combat is getting better, and some of the mini-dungeons were hella fun, but questing is generally same ol same ol. Hopefully we get past it soon & to end-game this year lol!
@@syzpj627 820 is when you officially hit tier 2. Once that is achieved just go into your stronghold and go into the research lab. Scroll all the way to the bottom and there should be two options for Tier 1 honing and XP requirements reduction. Research them right away before you even start upgrading your alts gear. it’s a 20% boost to your success chance which is a ton. This can be done again for Tier 2 alts once that character reaches tier 3.
There are stronghold upgrades that help your alts (less materials needed, higher honing chance etc.). Also if you climb the tower on a 2nd character you will get tons of materials instead of cards and other rewards.

There are still ton of more contents not yet released in Western regions. Hope you play long enough to try Abyssal raids and finally Legion raids. which can be called true endgame :)

Current NA's version of lost ark is only about 20% of what you will be getting in future updates. The huge success of Lost Ark in Korea started as they added legion commander raids and south vern continent. Once those updates hit, you will be able to experience seriously epic raids. I hope you have fun playing my favorite MMO in the world.

Cool to hear from an actual korean, i like the games that comes from Korea, it's a shame that many don't get released in EU/US I haven't started playing Lost Ark yet, but will shortly, and i think ill be maining the same class as Peon Sorceress :D she looked very fun, i looked at a few "what class should i pick!" vids but none of them really stood out when it came to what class to pick, peons gfameplay of sorc was a dealbreaker tho :)

I am, like you, having an absolute blast playing this game. The dungeon at the end of Rohendel was the most fun dungeon I have played in a game in quite some time. I'm guessing you figured eventually in the Abyss dungeon with the orbs that you don't DPS the orbs? Just wait for the boss the teleport to you and he will destory them himself.

Literally same impressions as you! I also learned that once you just get T2, you get a research that lets your ALTs gear up easier to compensate for no islands.
I really enjoyed seeing your journey from beginning up till now. You actually gave the game a fair shot and in turn its also showcased its positive side and been able to capture you. I hope you find that T3 content is enjoyable too. From us players who have been in KLOA for years, its nice to see new players join in. Honestly, if you like the raids now, you're going to LOVE the future ones. The difficulty ramps up 10x and the feeling of reward also.
This game is definitely a good game. The pretty graphics and the sophistication of the details are amazing. You won't find graphic fragmentation in a myriad of places. It's also good because it's a game that can be played to the end even in f2p. It is said that there are many people who enjoy endgames through f2p even in kor suv, the hometown of this game. In fact, when I played the game myself, the p2w element is not bad either. Expensive ingredients are available in small quantities at the Marie Shop but at reasonable prices. I've seen articles saying that this game always amazingly updates the quality of the game as much as it makes money. A game to look forward to in the future.
Glad a lot of people like the game, they've been grinding T3 and I was afraid they'd quit because part of the real fun I found was not only the bosses but exploring. Sitting at 900+ Mokoko seeds and 30+ Island hearts at 1090, didn't spend a dime for it and didn't funnel anything from any alt. I'm just, playing while also playing another game.
So you played without alts? pls tell me more i dont like to play alts i only want to play my main i can spend 9 hours a day if i want to without alts im a f2p please convince me i want to really play but the alt part really turns me off i dont mind paytowin pls convince me
@@maiiwiththedrip1764 You can play the game with a single character, if you don't care to be "the highest item level" etc and you just want to take it slow and experience the game, you can definitely do that with a single character. Obviously have multiple alts to feed materials is a benefit and you can squeeze a couple extra upgrades per day if you utilize all your alt slots, but again if you just want to play the game for what it is, you can easily do that with a single character. You have nothing to lose except your own time as it's f2p, like peon said just play past the story and i'm sure you'll find something in the end-game you will enjoy.
Love the videos! This is exactly how I felt as I progressed too, it shows how the game evolved. It was considered a disaster in korea at launch, but as the developers took more and more input from the community, they drastically improved the game. From t2 to t3 to legion raids to skins to events. Crazy.
The Endgame is incredible and the boss mechanics are through the roof in Abyssal content. People hating on this game are just inexperienced with it and need to persevere.
Not many knew you could use and refill potions in guardian raid. You can also repair when in the circle in the beginning. You can only use the potions that can be equipped to battle item bar.
im sure someone has already typed this down below but when you hit item level 802 you can research a honing speedup mechanic in your stronghold for tier 1, then higher ilvl tier 2 and so on.
Amazing review. Best game I have played in years, last time I put so much time in an MMO was Tera. Do not get discouraged by mindless questing, reach the endgame and the game will change drastically.

Obviously someone swiping card can progress faster but so what? You are not forced to pay. It's a f2p game, we pay 60$ to buy so many shitty games, i remember paying 60 for Pokemon swsh and played for 25 hours. Totally garbage. This game i already have 200hours, believe me the 150+ hours spent in endgame was so enjoyable. You got gurdian raids lole monster hunter, where you go search for a monster and kill it, you can even break its part. There are 20 gurdian available to kill and that is only one of the endgame content. I know everyone says p2w and stuff, but don't say it until you play. Nobody is forcing you to pay in this game.
Seeing peon run around without health pots was killing me lol. Im sure he's figured it out by now but in guardian raids and abyssal dungeons you can only use %hp pots.
Yeah it took me like a week to figure out lmao, felt like such a noob, ALSO it took me 2 weeks to learn you can actually refill your pots by going back to base in Guardians, I thought once you run out of pots that's it haha
Im glad that I watched this. I started playing a long while ago but havent really clicked with leveling... this def has me more interested and im glad i took the time to look up what endgame is like!
Once you get your main to ilvl 802, an upgrade on your stronghold will appear where it will take 20% less resources to hone to tier 2. And 20% success rate boost to hone to tier 2. I don't recommend doing the knowledge transfer unless you want to save 1 hour. I will only skip story quests, you get no gear. But with the stronghold upgrades, getting alts to 802 will be way more easier.
Dude you always do this to me..with so many games you've played. You make the games you play look fun, and it gets me interested. I've actually discovered Outward through your videos, really enjoyed that one. Even tho Lost Ark isnt available in my country, I'm gonna find some obscure way through a VPN and try and play it. I watched on asmons stream,but when i clicked i remember watching this channel years ago with the infamous dark souls punch lol glad the channel is still going well
The leveling was absolutely boring AF... but once I got past 35 and then when I got to the actual endgame it became soooooo good! the guardian raids, chaos dungeons, abyssal dungeons, etc are so exciting and every time I unlock a new boss or stage, it gives me that super adrenaline rush! I haven't really gotten into the islands yet, or any of the ocean content but I cant wait to get into that also and see where I progress to! The combat is outstanding and it never feels like its lacking, especially with skill customization. So far I have not felt any need to buy anything or being pushed to actually spend $ which I love regardless of the p2w people complain about (t2 atm and no push to buy). Graphically its bright, vibrant and the areas are really varied so you're never feeling stuck with one style of colour and background to run around in (that mini village you shrink into was sick). The boss fights throughout the story (50+ and some lower) can get pretty hard but it makes it feel so rewarding to beat them that way. I have tons of hours in lost ark now and I'm so glad to see you enjoying it just as much!
For me it was because there was no part of the leveling where I WASN'T bored, aside from a few scattered moments here and there where I got to blow up a large group of enemies or tried out a new skill. Forgettable story, yawn-inducing voice acting, meaningless questing all suck, but the real problem is that the quest mechanics do nothing to show off what the endgame is like. Run 50 yards away from the quest giver, one/two shot a few groups of mobs, turn in, repeat. Endgame may be amazing but you can't fault people for being bored right out of the gate when the first few hours quickly turn into a slog. That's the studio's fault for not showcasing what their game is really like.
@@aleXtreme_ does it matter? You and I will enjoy different things which is fine. I’m just saying there’s a reason some of us bounced off the game and it’s because the leveling did such a poor job of showcasing the action. If they had made a much more minimal story and included the same sort of action you see at endgame, but during the leveling process, it might catch a lot more people.

OOF... The game really does have a HUGE Tutorial Gap on Guardian Raids: The HUGE number of people that first few WEEKS that didn't even BRING Dungeon Pots with them was STAGGERING. So many 'harder than they should be' GRs because the game fails to really make you understand that there are TWO types of Pots...

I feel like the BIGGEST mistake of Lost Ark's design is not having a faster-paced early game, and not having minor skips during the early questline. As soon as you step into the first few tidbits of endgame, the fun factor just ramps up so much its insane
Which sucks imo, because on the long run they do take up 10 ish hours to get through as a whole, whereas the lategame content is mostly how much time it takes for you to learn and adapt to the systems - which is significantly more enjoyable
@@5daydreams it helps people get started with the game though. There are so many systems in the game so the early game, although tedious, helps make sure new players don't get overwhelmed. In my opinion it's too streamlined making it too easy and boring. Bosses should have mechanics and so on even during leveling.
I can agree on this - it is a similar thing with what I felt towards PoE's earlygame, in which it really doesnt matter what you do, it's just a heavy grind without proper lategame impact nor does it impact lategame skill-development
@@5daydreams Honestly, this fits for pretty much any mmo on the market. In my personal opinion PoE requires a bit more from you before reaching end-game just slapping on whatever you find without a build in mind won't get you all the way there. Lost ark on the other hand, just equip the highest iLvl and use whatever skill you want. There is no way you won't at least get to vern.
I do find the story and the especially the voice acting not up to scratch, but I am heartened to hear that beyond all that, I should continue pushing on
The siege of Luterra castle sold me on this game, not to mention the dungeon designs were amazing. I never felt like the game was very grindy to level. Can’t wait to get deeper into the endgame content
@Tinny Foiler Go do abyss dungeons and come back saying it's too easy... Or guardian raids. You just don't know what you're talking about... Leveling to 50 is just some sort of tutorial where you discover the world, it's not meant to be hard or anything.

I read all quest dialogues and actually enjoyed it. Many people saying it's boring probably spam G and call it shit sadly. The story is nothing exceptional but shouldn't get so much hate.
@Tinny Foiler good. After level 50 the game is just spamming button and enemy's death. Even abyss dungeon you just spam button and boom, suddenly tier 6 equipment.
never got why people even give such a fuck about mmorpgs stories. they all suck, none makes sense, they keep changing things and they never have the balls to do something unique. if im playing a computer game i want gameplay. if i want good story, i will watch a tv show or read a book, but why should i waste my time with unskipable cutscenes?

Despite all of its flaws, I would say that Blade and Soul is an action combat mmo that had fantastic pve content, the raids were super challenging and gave you that real sense of accomplishment when you cleared them
Everyone was so hyped about this game so I decided to try it out on launch. Never played top down mmo and wasn’t expecting much from this game, but man I understand what you mean by being addicted. Having so much fun
Chaos dungeons give you insane loot boost twice a day, but you can still enter and get gear, but you'll get more "exchange" currency to trade for gear and harmony and such
You can do as much as like but only two per day will rewards gear unless you have rest xp. We only have the beginning of T3 content, not all of it. I too am having a absolute blast.
I'm only up to 31 on my gunner, and I have been finding the levelling a bit of a slog, but the combat feels so nice once you get used to it that it's kept me going. Seeing this, I'm pretty excited to get to that endgame now! Thanks for the great video. :)
I'm glad i play Sorceress now! I only play 2 or 3 hours a day so it will be a while before I see end game content. I've gotta agree with you about not liking top down games and about Lost Ark being different.
And you didn't even touch on Field Bosses, Cube, Islands, Adventure Tomes, Raport, Collectibles, Cards, etc... There is so much varied gameplay here that it is quite incredible. I found myself focusing only one 1 character, but doing a little bit of everything. Some of the Island quest chains and just better than the main story. Because it is an MMO, im taking my time experiencing everything and not rushing to the endgame/T3 too hard. I'm playing a Scrapper (which appearently is the least played class), but I'm having a ton of fun. Some skills just feel too amazing and watching whole screens gib just makes you feel so damn powerful. Gameplay for sure is a 10/10.
I did the same thing! Leveled a shadow hunter used my boost on a mage, and now it’s my main lol. They are super fun. Not sure what to use my other boost on, thinking of holding it for a new class.
Most if not all class releases so far in Korea and Russia have come with power passes. That way everyone can boost one up right away so I would recommend picking something out of what is a available. Pally, Bard, or Gunlancer would be my suggestion since they play very differently than all the straight dps classes.
I'm at 1.05k and it keeps blowing my mind. It's sooo good and just keeps getting better. If you're not rushing, make sure to make your dailies guys(also accept weeklies early), buy mats from the chaos/guild weekly. They will help a ton to prevent you from getting gated right before t2 and you'll fly through

I play League of Legends where every click matters, so running to speak / kill something in Lost Ark is a drag, so I’m glad there is light at the end of the tunnel at LA’s end game. Thank you for giving it a fair shake and actually getting to the meat of the content which is endgame. Alot of reviews have just given up before that and it just doesn't make sense to do so. Also you don't have to ever level an alt up again after the first one since you will have the 2 power pass tickets and the knowledge transfers from your stronghold. Have fun and take your time with this game. It only gets better
hey so i was a little confused at what he had said. i am shadowhunter now, i want to use either bard, sorceress, or bezerker as my main, and so, when i hit 302 item level, can i change to that class? or did he say i have to wait til item lvl 460? that all just seems an eternity away as I'm just now reaching the first island in the quest line. just got my ship. lvl 41 i think (got ship at 38)
@@tirkentube you get a power pass as soon as you finish the main story quest in north vern. Which is a boost to 50 should come in the mail. Then you boost and you will receive another one on the character you just made. So basically 3 level 50s at cap. Then once you hit tier 2 with whichever character you get to 600 you can then use knowledge boost in the stronghold for 600 gold and 8 hours later have another level 50. And you can do that as many times as you want
Loving every minute, only having to 2 chaos/2 guardians a day with rested xp if i dont get to them is awesome, even if I have 30 minutes a day I get guaranteed upgrade mats for that day and I appreciate that. Better than grinding red maps in PoE by a mile.
That’s what I love. This game respects your time compared to other mmos. Dailies don’t take that long, it’s alt friendly, and you aren’t forced to dailies everyday
I spent a whole year doing daily quest in genshin because of extreme FOMO and its making insane so i deleted the game lol. Daily stuffs in lost ark can be done later is just a godsent blessing I never imagine to experience
just so everyone knows, you get 2 free level 50 boost 1 when you hit 50 and 1 when you complete vern. You get 9 knowledge transfers that cost 600g each but take 8 hours to complete but you get a level 50 out of each (alts are king) . When you get to 600 item level and push in to 802 there is stong hold research that pretty much makes getting to 600 on alts 100% with out failing and cheaper this is also at 1310 and 1340 and 1380 as well so make sure you pick the toon you want to main and push to those brackets and aim to have alts into t3 with your mains so you can pump the gold
Did you ever finish the LW4 and Icebrood Saga stuff for GW2? Because I randomly started playing it from POF some weeks ago and I just love this game RN, especially the meta event stuff and the story.
Do the tower all the way to floor 50 on the character you DON'T need honing materials on. Then when your alts go through the tower, they get overwhelmed with honing materials, and you can boost them to 500+ ilvl between that and chaos dungeon. If you do chaos dungeons on your alts, the honing fragments are tradable and you can plop them in your roster storage and they can be used by all of your alts to powerlevel as well.
This may be the only time that I've ever disagreed with one of your game impressions. Truly I've been enjoying this game basically from level one I mean some of the quests... a lot of the quests are your standard go fetch this, hell one quest had me carving freaking pumpkins after becoming the Kings night. But the entire Luterra quest line and the whole siege of Castle Luterra I mean damn, I'm here for this. The game feels like playing through final fantasy story but with BDO combat.
What do you mean when you say "feed resources to your main"? Does it benefit the main character by having alternative characters? I'm just grinding 1 haha
Most fun MMO I played in a veeeery long time.As for the leveling process I didn't find it tedoius at all.Highly doubt I will find more tedious and boring questing than New World's to be honest.As for the whole "p2w debate" for me at least, as long as it doesn't have items in shop that provide power and can't be obtained by playing the game it's not p2w and I don't mind at all the shop. :)
Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids are the most fun things in the game and they are the reason I'm still playing after having a 1300+ Paladin and 1200+ Shadow Hunter and Bard 😀 I had the exact same feeling. The game feels like 2 completely different games, pre-Vern and post-Vern.
three chars already in t3 ... not sure if to be impressed or concerned. As someone said, Guardian raids are quite simple and stale. Out of the first 15 guardians, only like 3 to 4 are somewhat interesting/demanding. Everyone else is just a punching bag. Well, Chaos dungeons are just the quick way of getting mats. Nothing more. Abyss dungeons are fun, as long as you and/or your team are not perfect in it. It is like a dance where you need to follow a set move set to be victorious. Little to no dynamic events happening. If you know what to do, well ... where is the excitement?
14:56, i actually got goosebumps lol Idk just seeing 30 people just running it down and rampaging on a war path just gave me chills. I want to get back into the game now lol, I played it like 11 hours straight when it came out, reached level ~20's and then haven't touched it since. I didn't hate it, just have other things to play. But I also didn't feel the urge to go back to play again, until now.. what to do.
If you want to have more fun in the game, start a guild with your IRL friends, I'm in a guild with some guys who are friends IRL and they're having tons of fun when they do the dungeons and raids together. I don't know them IRL, but I watch them on Twitch.
This video gave me hope just hit level 30 with my deathblade and have not been impressed so far. Was in the same exact situation as you when it comes to not enjoying it but still coming back daily lol
Shout out for getting to tier 3 im guessing a few days or half a week ago that's a pretty epic grind , my main sold some materials to buy some skins so im like 3 days off , i didn't expect him to go that hard in the paint good work
I play a level 47 Sorc as main. That was all I wanted to play. I mean I have alts but sorc is my main. Those numbers she puts out are amazing. Nothing says awesome than being a "squishy" and surrounding yourself with 15 mobs, going half-life and killing them all in 4 hits. Hit yourself up with a potion and doing it again in 10 seconds after CD resets. Lifes good.
upgrading 1040 to 1100 is such a pain in the ass....can't imagine that on t3....3 days, 4k gold and I only managed to upgrade a fuking helmet from +14 to +15 which is absurd

People will stop playing before they reach 600. You need the mindset that T1 to T3 is whole game.

You need to reach lvl 52 first and higher to enjoy those benefits
Not gonna lie, I read that as "carbs and other rewards" realised it was cards and thought, "and was like yeah don't fill up on useless cards" :P
How do you unlock those stronghold upgrades for more success chance. Do you just need to keep upgrading certain things i assume?

I am, like you, having an absolute blast playing this game. The dungeon at the end of Rohendel was the most fun dungeon I have played in a game in quite some time. I'm guessing you figured eventually in the Abyss dungeon with the orbs that you don't DPS the orbs? Just wait for the boss the teleport to you and he will destory them himself.

This game is definitely a good game. The pretty graphics and the sophistication of the details are amazing. You won't find graphic fragmentation in a myriad of places. It's also good because it's a game that can be played to the end even in f2p. It is said that there are many people who enjoy endgames through f2p even in kor suv, the hometown of this game. In fact, when I played the game myself, the p2w element is not bad either. Expensive ingredients are available in small quantities at the Marie Shop but at reasonable prices. I've seen articles saying that this game always amazingly updates the quality of the game as much as it makes money. A game to look forward to in the future.

Glad a lot of people like the game, they've been grinding T3 and I was afraid they'd quit because part of the real fun I found was not only the bosses but exploring. Sitting at 900+ Mokoko seeds and 30+ Island hearts at 1090, didn't spend a dime for it and didn't funnel anything from any alt. I'm just, playing while also playing another game.

@@maiiwiththedrip1764 You can play the game with a single character, if you don't care to be "the highest item level" etc and you just want to take it slow and experience the game, you can definitely do that with a single character. Obviously have multiple alts to feed materials is a benefit and you can squeeze a couple extra upgrades per day if you utilize all your alt slots, but again if you just want to play the game for what it is, you can easily do that with a single character.
You have nothing to lose except your own time as it's f2p, like peon said just play past the story and i'm sure you'll find something in the end-game you will enjoy.

Love the videos! This is exactly how I felt as I progressed too, it shows how the game evolved. It was considered a disaster in korea at launch, but as the developers took more and more input from the community, they drastically improved the game. From t2 to t3 to legion raids to skins to events. Crazy.
The Endgame is incredible and the boss mechanics are through the roof in Abyssal content. People hating on this game are just inexperienced with it and need to persevere.

Not many knew you could use and refill potions in guardian raid. You can also repair when in the circle in the beginning. You can only use the potions that can be equipped to battle item bar.

im sure someone has already typed this down below but when you hit item level 802 you can research a honing speedup mechanic in your stronghold for tier 1, then higher ilvl tier 2 and so on.

Obviously someone swiping card can progress faster but so what? You are not forced to pay. It's a f2p game, we pay 60$ to buy so many shitty games, i remember paying 60 for Pokemon swsh and played for 25 hours. Totally garbage. This game i already have 200hours, believe me the 150+ hours spent in endgame was so enjoyable. You got gurdian raids lole monster hunter, where you go search for a monster and kill it, you can even break its part. There are 20 gurdian available to kill and that is only one of the endgame content. I know everyone says p2w and stuff, but don't say it until you play. Nobody is forcing you to pay in this game.
Seeing peon run around without health pots was killing me lol. Im sure he's figured it out by now but in guardian raids and abyssal dungeons you can only use %hp pots.

its so nice to see core engine as adv. im working on a game in core engine. Its strong program to make a decent game.
Once you get your main to ilvl 802, an upgrade on your stronghold will appear where it will take 20% less resources to hone to tier 2. And 20% success rate boost to hone to tier 2. I don't recommend doing the knowledge transfer unless you want to save 1 hour. I will only skip story quests, you get no gear. But with the stronghold upgrades, getting alts to 802 will be way more easier.
Dude you always do this to me..with so many games you've played. You make the games you play look fun, and it gets me interested. I've actually discovered Outward through your videos, really enjoyed that one. Even tho Lost Ark isnt available in my country, I'm gonna find some obscure way through a VPN and try and play it. The leveling was absolutely boring AF... but once I got past 35 and then when I got to the actual endgame it became soooooo good! the guardian raids, chaos dungeons, abyssal dungeons, etc are so exciting and every time I unlock a new boss or stage, it gives me that super adrenaline rush! I haven't really gotten into the islands yet, or any of the ocean content but I cant wait to get into that also and see where I progress to! The combat is outstanding and it never feels like its lacking, especially with skill customization. So far I have not felt any need to buy anything or being pushed to actually spend $ which I love regardless of the p2w people complain about (t2 atm and no push to buy). Graphically its bright, vibrant and the areas are really varied so you're never feeling stuck with one style of colour and background to run around in (that mini village you shrink into was sick). The boss fights throughout the story (50+ and some lower) can get pretty hard but it makes it feel so rewarding to beat them that way. I have tons of hours in lost ark now and I'm so glad to see you enjoying it just as much!
Leveling takes 15 hours, how come you can get bored on a brand new game so fast
For me it was because there was no part of the leveling where I WASN'T bored, aside from a few scattered moments here and there where I got to blow up a large group of enemies or tried out a new skill. Forgettable story, yawn-inducing voice acting, meaningless questing all suck, but the real problem is that the quest mechanics do nothing to show off what the endgame is like. Run 50 yards away from the quest giver, one/two shot a few groups of mobs, turn in, repeat. Endgame may be amazing but you can't fault people for being bored right out of the gate when the first few hours quickly turn into a slog. That's the studio's fault for not showcasing what their game is really like.

I’m just saying there’s a reason some of us bounced off the game and it’s because the leveling did such a poor job of showcasing the action. If they had made a much more minimal story and included the same sort of action you see at endgame, but during the leveling process, it might catch a lot more people.

OOF... The game really does have a HUGE Tutorial Gap on Guardian Raids: The HUGE number of people that first few WEEKS that didn't even BRING Dungeon Pots with them was STAGGERING.
So many 'harder than they should be' GRs because the game fails to really make you understand that there are TWO types of Pots...
Gotta be honest, took me a week to realize you could use battle pots in Guardian raids too lmao
In the stronghold, you can upgrade the honing chance for lower tiers for your alts and the cleared towers gives the materials for the alts as well.

I feel like the BIGGEST mistake of Lost Ark's design is not having a faster-paced early game, and not having minor skips during the early questline.
As soon as you step into the first few tidbits of endgame, the fun factor just ramps up so much its insane

Which sucks imo, because on the long run they do take up 10 ish hours to get through as a whole, whereas the lategame content is mostly how much time it takes for you to learn and adapt to the systems - which is significantly more enjoyable
@@5daydreams it helps people get started with the game though. There are so many systems in the game so the early game, although tedious, helps make sure new players don't get overwhelmed.
In my opinion it's too streamlined making it too easy and boring. Bosses should have mechanics and so on even during leveling.
I can agree on this - it is a similar thing with what I felt towards PoE's earlygame, in which it really doesnt matter what you do, it's just a heavy grind without proper lategame impact nor does it impact lategame skill-development
@@5daydreams Honestly, this fits for pretty much any mmo on the market.
In my personal opinion PoE requires a bit more from you before reaching end-game just slapping on whatever you find without a build in mind won't get you all the way there. Lost ark on the other hand, just equip the highest iLvl and use whatever skill you want. There is no way you won't at least get to vern.
I do find the story and the especially the voice acting not up to scratch, but I am heartened to hear that beyond all that, I should continue pushing on

The siege of Luterra castle sold me on this game, not to mention the dungeon designs were amazing. I never felt like the game was very grindy to level. Can’t wait to get deeper into the endgame content

Despite all of its flaws, I would say that Blade and Soul is an action combat mmo that had fantastic pve content, the raids were super challenging and gave you that real sense of accomplishment when you cleared them
Lost Ark reminded me exactly of Blade and Soul... The raids for me were top tier
Everyone was so hyped about this game so I decided to try it out on launch. Never played top down mmo and wasn’t expecting much from this game, but man I understand what you mean by being addicted. Having so much fun
Chaos dungeons give you insane loot boost twice a day, but you can still enter and get gear, but you'll get more "exchange" currency to trade for gear and harmony and such
You can do as much as like but only two per day will rewards gear unless you have rest xp. We only have the beginning of T3 content, not all of it.
I too am having a absolute blast.
Endgame is SO MUCH fun! Guardian dungeons, abyssal raids, chaos dungeons, islands everything is so much fun and there is so much to do.
I'm only up to 31 on my gunner, and I have been finding the levelling a bit of a slog, but the combat feels so nice once you get used to it that it's kept me going. Seeing this, I'm pretty excited to get to that endgame now! Thanks for the great video. :)
I'm glad i play Sorceress now! I only play 2 or 3 hours a day so it will be a while before I see end game content. I've gotta agree with you about not liking top down games and about Lost Ark being different.
I’m addicted as hell as well. Taking my time and doing every quest and side quest I can find and the storyline gets way better by Rohendel.
And you didn't even touch on Field Bosses, Cube, Islands, Adventure Tomes, Raport, Collectibles, Cards, etc... There is so much varied gameplay here that it is quite incredible. I found myself focusing only one 1 character, but doing a little bit of everything. Some of the Island quest chains and just better than the main story.
Because it is an MMO, im taking my time experiencing everything and not rushing to the endgame/T3 too hard. I'm playing a Scrapper (which appearently is the least played class), but I'm having a ton of fun. Some skills just feel too amazing and watching whole screens gib just makes you feel so damn powerful.
Gameplay for sure is a 10/10.
I did the same thing! Leveled a shadow hunter used my boost on a mage, and now it’s my main lol. They are super fun. Not sure what to use my other boost on, thinking of holding it for a new class.
Most if not all class releases so far in Korea and Russia have come with power passes. That way everyone can boost one up right away so I would recommend picking something out of what is a available. Pally, Bard, or Gunlancer would be my suggestion since they play very differently than all the straight dps classes.

I'm at 1.05k and it keeps blowing my mind. It's sooo good and just keeps getting better. If you're not rushing, make sure to make your dailies guys(also accept weeklies early), buy mats from the chaos/guild weekly. They will help a ton to prevent you from getting gated right before t2 and you'll fly through
yeah, the lvling was never boring for me personally, mostly cause of the beautiful world and stuff. plus it's super fast paced.

I play League of Legends where every click matters, so running to speak / kill something in Lost Ark is a drag, so I’m glad there is light at the end of the tunnel at LA’s end game. Thank you for giving it a fair shake and actually getting to the meat of the content which is endgame. Alot of reviews have just given up before that and it just doesn't make sense to do so. Also you don't have to ever level an alt up again after the first one since you will have the 2 power pass tickets and the knowledge transfers from your stronghold. Have fun and take your time with this game. It only gets better
hey so i was a little confused at what he had said. i am shadowhunter now, i want to use either bard, sorceress, or bezerker as my main, and so, when i hit 302 item level, can i change to that class? or did he say i have to wait til item lvl 460? that all just seems an eternity away as I'm just now reaching the first island in the quest line. just got my ship. lvl 41 i think (got ship at 38)
@@tirkentube you get a power pass as soon as you finish the main story quest in north vern. Which is a boost to 50 should come in the mail. Then you boost and you will receive another one on the character you just made. So basically 3 level 50s at cap. Then once you hit tier 2 with whichever character you get to 600 you can then use knowledge boost in the stronghold for 600 gold and 8 hours later have another level 50. And you can do that as many times as you want

Loving every minute, only having to 2 chaos/2 guardians a day with rested xp if i dont get to them is awesome, even if I have 30 minutes a day I get guaranteed upgrade mats for that day and I appreciate that. Better than grinding red maps in PoE by a mile.
That’s what I love. This game respects your time compared to other mmos. Dailies don’t take that long, it’s alt friendly, and you aren’t forced to dailies everyday
I spent a whole year doing daily quest in genshin because of extreme FOMO and its making insane so i deleted the game lol.
Daily stuffs in lost ark can be done later is just a godsent blessing I never imagine to experience
just so everyone knows, you get 2 free level 50 boost 1 when you hit 50 and 1 when you complete vern. You get 9 knowledge transfers that cost 600g each but take 8 hours to complete but you get a level 50 out of each (alts are king) . When you get to 600 item level and push in to 802 there is stong hold research that pretty much makes getting to 600 on alts 100% with out failing and cheaper this is also at 1310 and 1340 and 1380 as well so make sure you pick the toon you want to main and push to those brackets and aim to have alts into t3 with your mains so you can pump the gold

its very eazy to change mains click the BIG icon on the left side of the screen in Char screen. Then select one of your other Toons.
Do the tower all the way to floor 50 on the character you DON'T need honing materials on. Then when your alts go through the tower, they get overwhelmed with honing materials, and you can boost them to 500+ ilvl between that and chaos dungeon. If you do chaos dungeons on your alts, the honing fragments are tradable and you can plop them in your roster storage and they can be used by all of your alts to powerlevel as well.

This may be the only time that I've ever disagreed with one of your game impressions. Truly I've been enjoying this game basically from level one I mean some of the quests... a lot of the quests are your standard go fetch this, hell one quest had me carving freaking pumpkins after becoming the Kings night. But the entire Luterra quest line and the whole siege of Castle Luterra I mean damn, I'm here for this. The game feels like playing through final fantasy story but with BDO combat.

Most fun MMO I played in a veeeery long time.As for the leveling process I didn't find it tedoius at all.Highly doubt I will find more tedious and boring questing than New World's to be honest.As for the whole "p2w debate" for me at least, as long as it doesn't have items in shop that provide power and can't be obtained by playing the game it's not p2w and I don't mind at all the shop. :)
Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids are the most fun things in the game and they are the reason I'm still playing after having a 1300+ Paladin and 1200+ Shadow Hunter and Bard 😀
I had the exact same feeling. The game feels like 2 completely different games, pre-Vern and post-Vern.
I find guardian raids horribly boring, and i cannot understand why the hp bar/stagger bar is not there.
three chars already in t3 ... not sure if to be impressed or concerned. As someone said, Guardian raids are quite simple and stale. Out of the first 15 guardians, only like 3 to 4 are somewhat interesting/demanding. Everyone else is just a punching bag. Well, Chaos dungeons are just the quick way of getting mats. Nothing more. Abyss dungeons are fun, as long as you and/or your team are not perfect in it. It is like a dance where you need to follow a set move set to be victorious. Little to no dynamic events happening. If you know what to do, well ... where is the excitement?

If you want to have more fun in the game, start a guild with your IRL friends, I'm in a guild with some guys who are friends IRL and they're having tons of fun when they do the dungeons and raids together. I don't know them IRL, but I watch them on Twitch.

I play a level 47 Sorc as main. That was all I wanted to play. I mean I have alts but sorc is my main. Those numbers she puts out are amazing. Nothing says awesome than being a "squishy" and surrounding yourself with 15 mobs, going half-life and killing them all in 4 hits. Hit yourself up with a potion and doing it again in 10 seconds after CD resets. Lifes good.

upgrading 1040 to 1100 is such a pain in the ass....can't imagine that on t3....3 days, 4k gold and I only managed to upgrade a fuking helmet from +14 to +15 which is absurd
