Yet, 10% stats from pets are negligible as dps un high end content other than boosting your e-penis (which Is what the "p2w" in lost ark work around). You can play the entire game w/o spending a single dollar and still be up there on par with "p2w" players, it just take longer.
This game is not a P2W game. Pet is almost a must. This is because it has various pet functions. You can open warehouses, repairs, exchanges, etc. without going to NPCs. And pet always applies two abilities to the character. One of the basic six characteristics and defense skills. Pet is provided to players on a regular basis through various events within the game. There is no difference in ability according to the pet's grade.
As someone who played the RU for months and decided to wait until Western release, if you want a GREAT pvp experience. Lost Ark is the way to go. PvE is fun as well. I'm just mainly a pvp player.
17:30 You've actually stopped right before a big highlight moment of the MSQ, a huge battle. Lost Ark does huge battles REALLY well. Also right after is where you reach one of the main "hub" cities, and open up the rest of the systems like PvP, auction house, etc. Around level 37 you get sailing and finally start exploring the world. Basically I want to say that the leveling experience gets even better than what first 25 levels have to offer.
I personally took the same route as Peon, I choose to stop playing around lvl 20 to not spoil this game for myself, because initial few levels were enough to make me excited for this game. I just know it is amazing
the storyline battles for this game is epic. Always thought to myself how in the world am i gonna fight this mob of monsters. lol So sad that we have to wait so long for the release
Recently played this on the Russian server and the game gets SO much better once you hit level 50 and arrive in North Bern (for PvE content). Worth enduring the levelling process to experience the proper game.
You forgot to try Deathblade's other use of class skill. If you press Z twice you use your big sword to make a big hit vertically and damage depends on how many spheres you got.
It’s only good to use the second part if the fight is gonna end quick longer the fight you get more out of waiting out two orbs using the 50% cd reduction the 30% damage bonus 20% attack speed and 10% movement speed for as long as possible which would net you more damage then just pressing it with 3 orbs up!
its important to know btw. when you were testing the advanced classes. the Z abilities isn't their ultimate ability. that requires getting to 50 and doing quest to unlock it. but yea the Z key is usually reserved for for classes depth abilities either via powering up or changing skills temporarily or providing extra by consuming for certain skills etc. but with all that being said. this game is 100% hype for western market.
At start the western version of Lost Ark will not have all the specializations, however, those could be added later. For example, Mage class has sorceress what can potentially be a mage spec what you are looking for (from gameplay pov).
I think for people who are just getting into games or mmorpgs, and for younger generation, this game can offer a lot of fun. However, having played tons of action games and action mmorpgs, the dungeon instances get repetitive, until it feels like the monsters rushing in on you are just animals that are ready to be farm slaughtered.
@@Filianyntix Glorious Wall showcases the excelent use of the camera perspective for cinematic purposes. Lost Ark has REALLY good camera transitions, perfectly seamless. It might not be something that impressive, but it certainly makes you go "oh, wow".

I was never a fan of isometric games such Diablo/Path of Exile and I almost didn't try out the beta of Lost Ark. But man I would be so mad at myself if I would not have tried the Lost Ark beta. This game is an absolutely gem and you can really see how much work & love the developers put into this game. This game really showed me what an Mmo(A)rpg should be. I never felt that connected with a game community as I did in Lost Ark. There are so many interesting and funny player interactions whether it is the tree-cutting with another player, the visiting of a stronghold or gathering more players to dance in the big castle to complete a quest. This game took so many inspirations from other great games and in my opinion combined the best things and even improved them further. To all MMO lovers: Give This Game A Try You won't regret it. The world feels alive, there is a lot of content, the animations/combat feels awesome and the story is interesting. I personally always played and loved World of Warcraft. But the Lost Ark Beta showed me so many good elements which I missed in World of Warcraft or other MMO's for such a long time. I can't wait for the release.
yep. there's something about it, even without having taken part in the beta. i have never ever played an mmo ever and i'm almost 30. never understood what people saw and still see in stuff like wow. i kinda get it with games like diablo but even there, I couldn't gather enough interest myself to try it. but this appeals to me a lot. i really really like the graphics. lots of parts have that evil and dark feel to it and I really like that. all that waifu-shit also seems to be quite toned down thankfully (wtf so many people like about it completely escapes me). what also is REALLY attractive to me is that they take casuals into consideration, which I certainly am. I saw in some youtube video that they will add (or already added) minigames and stuff like that which looked great. and even despite caring about the casuals, they have some hardcore fights in there and even though I will probably never be interested or good enough to attempt these fights, having the option is still cool. all in all, I am very much looking forward to playing the first mmorpg of my life and I'm glad it's going to be Lost Ark. hope i won't be let down. see ya on the fields, bois.

As a Korean player who played lost ark for years let me tell you what the P2W aspect is like. I don't consider this game P2W simply because you dont really win anything. You progress faster but that's it. It doesn't mean those people that pay have a specific advantage over you or take anything away from you. Most P2W games have a direct affect on your character in some aspects such as PvP or not being able to do something as new content is released because you aren't geared enough. This isn't the case for Lost Ark. It's more similar to CoD and it's battle pass. People with battle pass get new weapon blueprints, xp boosts, so faster attachment on weapons with less recoil etc. But this does not mean everyone with the battle pass is better than you and consider it P2W can you? At least with lost ark you have access to every content and can work towards it pretty reasonably well without paying a cent. I was able to do every raid as it was released and had times where I had nothing to do other than doing collectable stuff because I was able to. There isn't a big big disadvantage by not paying. I'd say the progression is 10~25% slower than people that pay depending on how many hours you play a day and RNG but being that slow doesn't mean you are locked out of content or have specific disadvantage while doing something
Buying faster progress quals p2w, as by definition, you pay for an advantage (any) over people who don't, which this literally is. People who say stuff that makes you progress faster and gives you boost is not p2w are absolutely ridiculous. Time is the most important thing in life and you're literally buying it. So yeah, there are many ways of p2w, from small boosts to straight up buying currency (or items you can sell for currency, same thing), but all of them are p2w, unless it's a cosmetic item that doesn't affect GAMEPLAY in any way.
@@DoctorStrange01 You haven't played proper p2w games my boy. Having an advantage doesn't mean "win" and this advantage isn't even huge. P2W games in my view are games where you literally can't progress unless you spend money or can't even compete in pvp. There are heaps of Korean games where people spend 1000s even more than 10K USD for couple of items. You don't even have to spend money in lost ark to enjoy the game. In lost ark you can buy all the gold you want with real money, it doesn't save huge amount of time imo as its mostly cosmetics and RNG for items Would you call CoD p2w because you get xp boost and better weapons at the start? It's like saying a single player game is p2w because in lost ark if other people are ahead of you, it doesn't really directly affect you. Where in as lots of other games unless you spend money, you can't join a party, go on raids, do pvp, go pve etc
@@gnsgml11 I did, my boy, and probably at the time when you were still sucking on the milk bottle, but i was a teenager and couldn't care less back then. You're a Korean, i don't expect you to grasp the concept of P2W when 99% of your online games are extremely P2W. Applies to probably most asian markets, but Korea and China are legendary status in that. Your concept of P2W is just that - your concept, but it doesn't change how P2W works, it's not only the most extreme cases like you've mentioned (unable to progress without $), it's also the small things like boosters, anything that gives you any advantage in gameplay is P2W. There's no pay to progress faster, pay to buy an item, pay to enter a zone, pay to get a bj from a skimpy looking lady-NPC. It's all the same shit, it affects gameplay = it's P2W. Better weapons ? Of course, you're at an advantage over people who didn't buy the pass. People will have to grind for the advantage you just bought with real cash. This is self-explanatory. You're trying to justify the P2W aspect of games. A debate with someone like you is literally pointless, as it is with anyone who thinks anything that gives any advantage in gameplay aspect is not P2W.
@@DoctorStrange01 Gotta make a difference between pay 2 win and pay 4 convenience. Getting a 10% exp boost? Convenient. Buying literal levels or gear that cannot be obtained otherwise? P2Win

I know this may not sound interesting but the Ad keeps me watched it for over 1hour and 20 mins (I guess). I hope that helps you being a youtuber. 🙂. Also, I finished watching your video. Nice infos and reviews. Keep it up man!
17:15 and this is exactly what I fucking hate about games these days, why are players able to look like that without killing a super hard endgame boss?!
the best things in PVP is Wars to control palaces or regions, create brochures, and fight a large-scale fight is the most beautiful and wonderful thing, but it is not present in this game
Game is NOT P2W and anyone that says that Lost Ark is P2W is a troll adding fuel to the fire trying to trigger hardcore fans, or someone who has no clue what real P2W actually looks like. In Lost Ark you CAN pay to progress faster. Anything whales can do, you can do just by playing, anything whales can buy on cash shop, you can do also just by playing and exchanging gold for cash shop currency, and even if there is any P2W element it literally doesn't matter, cause there is LITERALLY NOTHING TO WIN. PVP is equalized, there is also equalized PVE content with leaderboards, where everyone has same gear and you need to be skilled enough and know boss mechanics to clear the raid/dungeon the fastest. Overall the game is pay to progress faster and when you progress fast you will be bored and then cry on forums that you want new content to come faster. So take you time, play everyday for few hours, do your daily stuff, and you will eventually catch up to the whales who will be max gear score on first week with no content to do and maximum boredom.
For me it's looks less like a top-down and more like a regular MMO with the camera zoomed all the way out. I think this was a way to save on texture resources and make the game lighter to run in a PC Bangs, but I haven't checked that out myself yet. It's pretty, and I can't fault the cheesecake design, but I'm not sure if this game is something I'll be interested in.
I don't have too much experience in MMO Rpg's, having dumpstered ridiculous amount of time into FFXIV and some time into SWTOR, I have to say that Lost Ark feels like a breath of fresh air looking at how impactful the abilities are for characters. The minor inconveniences of gender lock, a debatably boring leveling experience (which exists in other MMO Rpg's as well), a lack of customization on the player housing are rounded out by the amazing class design and combat, as well as the fact that it is free to play. While it's theoretically possible for them to attempt to overhaul the leveling experience, I think it will remain the same as it has been demonstrated in beta. As for the gender lock issue, that can be changed in future updates, along with most customization for player housing. Overall, I think the pros outweigh the cons to put Lost Ark at the grade level of at minimum a "solid game", and potentially better depending on how much those minor inconveniences irk you.
Hey great content, i need to know tho will you be making more new world videos? Even if your road to 60 has ended it could continue. It was so entertaining to watch you play that game.
one thing for me is, yes, the campaign default quests are super generic and boring. but a lot of the main story line is exceptionally well made and interesting. there were so many "holy shit" moments in it that could fill an entire single player game easily (fortress siege, some campaign dungeons like morai ruins, the entire tortoyk continent especially the pirate dungeon,...). but most importantly the combat system is so amazing that i never feel bored killing random stuff in the world or while questing. even fighting trash mobs feels like an epic battle. i will probably play this game for a really long time (and it lets me do this without endless grind because i have never witnessed this amount of content in a game before...). on a last note: the developers seem to be extremely nice too.
yo first time i ever see one of your videos. but right of the bat, i am so impressed by how much you transformed since 2018. really well done, and so inspiring!
Hey Peon I remember that one of their latest classes that was released in Korea is the Sorceress. I believe it's still a female, but she's a more classic mage/spell caster that you're looking for compared to the summoner that uses constructs for combat instead. th-cam.com/video/UsnXobZ_bdA/w-d-xo.html
I think Lost Ark looks very good and i love the art style and they did a good job in UE3 to be fair and probably the best looking isometic RPG game i ever seen and the con part for me is gender lock.
Looking good mate, are you still doing your IRL series? Cheers

In a lot of ways, its "perfect MMO" Combat is fun, satisfying, flashy and skillbased. PVP is competetive, very deep, very skill expressive and and with equalized gear - fair, with quite good balancing Endgame PVE is very hard, challenging and fun, with varied bosses, mechanics and its one of the only MMO which can do without holy trinity and still work! There is lot of build diversity, easy respecs for trying new stuff, game is very alt friendly and there is lot to do at every point of game Lot of life skills, exploration and housing for those who like to "live" in their game. Unless they really fuck up monetization, this game should be doing really good. I just wish it didn´t have that classical "asian" visualisation, but its not THAT bad :)
@Trebors Tactics You aren't OP lol. The bosses in the dungeons and raids have literal hundreds of health bars. Watched a video yesterday when a boss had over 200 bars of health and would wipe your entire party if you make a mistake.

@@abouttime2569 ahah, I played more mmos than you ever heard of. That being said, your comment is clueless and doesn't make any sense. I've played lost ark on the Russian servers so unlike you, I know what I'm talking about.
I know people insist it is an MMO, but it really doesn't look like one to me from everything I've seen. Sure, technically you can say it is massively multiplayer, but it reminds me heavily of those mobile MMOs with its lobby-based system and maps. It just doesn't in anyway give that sense of a real, expansive world.
There is tons of world events and bosses going on almost constantly, a very large ocean to explore with more events that happen on the sea's and 94 islands in the sea's to explore, You have yo physically sail your ship btw.
The biggest CON for me with these asian MMO's is the cash shop. I don't mind reasonably priced cosmetics, but if there's anything that even closely resembles P2W of P2C items its a big NO-NO for me. They just immediately kills the interest for me, I've been looking forward for this game for YEARS, and I'm really hoping that they won't go to the same P2W monetization route that most of the Asian MMOs typically go. Hell, I would even prefer to pay 60€ upfront if it meant that game would have no further monetization at all and all the content + cosmetics would be free and obtainable via gameplay.
After nearly 3 years i can said there is nothing out there like this game I hope you make it to lv 50 to get an idea of this game with all respect this is not diablo or POE it will start linear and it will became a huge sandbox this is an MMOARPG…You are playing a real master piece this is an MMO like no other is unique polish and very very well done it has everything from story to combat to raids to professions you named this game has it and the best part are the Devs of this game very good people so far hope u enjoy it..
The real fun which you didn't highlight in this video is playing alts. In the beta I leveled 3 toons to 26 and like 5 others to 13-16. Once you realize how different (and stupidly fun) the classes feel that's when the game truly shines. It's a shame you only did the usual rush to max level thing lol.
I never understood why these games don't include both gender and varying skin tone options for each class. Its such an easy thing to do and will ensure all players can have a character that they enjoy playing.
I'm still trying to understand the hype behind this game, now that I get to play the game it feels like some cheap asian RPG game that smells like it'll be full of P2W stuff
I played the beta for the week that it was out. Got to max level on a shadow hunter. Amazing graphics, sound effects, combat animations. Dungeon experience is actually really fun as are the bosses. I didn't think I would like the isometric design but it's like playing league of legends but it's an MMORPG instead. Class fantasy and skill progression is awesome. Lots to play around with (you can reset skills for free at any time). The story was decent, certainly not ff14 level but it has some cool moments. PvP is completely normalized - There is NO pay to win for PvP at all (all gear is the exact same, only thing you can change are the preset characteristics and skills). Raid bosses are really fun. I played 50 hours or so for $15 for the beta and I got my moneys worth easily. When the game comes out, it will be completely free to play so you can have fun as well for about 40-50 hours worth and decide if you want to keep going. At endgame, you can repeatedly do dungeons/raids in a LFG/matchmaking system with others which is pretty fun - you use the mats you get from these things to upgrade your gear. You can "pay to win" to go faster but honestly you don't HAVE to do that at all and still you will have fun. There is also a lot of casual content, you can explore thousands of islands on your ship and collect things which will progress your character slightly. Oh and one last thing the NA/EU release will have much less monetization compared to the Korean version. Game director confirmed this.

There is no difference in ability according to the pet's grade.
@@windtaker11 That is still Pay2Win, any way to get a advantage over a free player counts, including getting the pets you need earlier.

Same, what an unexpected line haha
ngl i laughed at that bit lmfao
I mean it is first impression , he probably will do a full review one day.
Whats MSQ? Main storyline quest?
If he had made it to Tortoyk I think he would have loved the MSQ. Its a great zone.
If you press Z twice you use your big sword to make a big hit vertically and damage depends on how many spheres you got.
yeah I was like "hit z again bruuuh!" I got deathblades too on the beta. Looking forward to play on launch!
R
its important to know btw. when you were testing the advanced classes. the Z abilities isn't their ultimate ability. that requires getting to 50 and doing quest to unlock it. but yea the Z key is usually reserved for for classes depth abilities either via powering up or changing skills temporarily or providing extra by consuming for certain skills etc.
but with all that being said. this game is 100% hype for western market.
hype as in its good?
At start the western version of Lost Ark will not have all the specializations, however, those could be added later. For example, Mage class has sorceress what can potentially be a mage spec what you are looking for (from gameplay pov).
Didn't he say male?
@@Tsunam4b0z What I have seen there is only a female option. I guess genderlocking in general is a small downside, at least for some people.
@@tuomaslunden4848 huge downside.
@@GuidoDePalma Yeah I understand it can be and for many people genderlocking is a big deal.
Sorceress is on release in NA
Just thought I'd point out, you no longer need to be 50 to PvP, you can do it as soon as about lvl 26, when you get to the first proper city
I think for people who are just getting into games or mmorpgs, and for younger generation, this game can offer a lot of fun.
However, having played tons of action games and action mmorpgs, the dungeon instances get repetitive, until it feels like
the monsters rushing in on you are just animals that are ready to be farm slaughtered.
Shit 😂
considering it's yet another eastern release, expect a 1-3 life span. then it will be yet another gaming syphilis .
Poor Peon, stopped progressing one quest before the Glorious Wall instance. It would definitely affect the Pros/Cons.
Was waiting for that all review. And then he stopped playing lol.
Can you explain what is that?
@@Filianyntix Glorious Wall showcases the excelent use of the camera perspective for cinematic purposes. Lost Ark has REALLY good camera transitions, perfectly seamless. It might not be something that impressive, but it certainly makes you go "oh, wow".
I usually don't like this kind of top-down camera angle, but I think the action of the combat makes up for it. Seems really cool.
seems portable for smart phones... so plan is go play elden ring until lost ark gets ported.
You stopped literally right before one of the coolest moments in the MSQ…
He explained it actually…he didnt want to get spoiled much so when the actual game gets released he can enjoy it more
Damn, you stopped RIGHT before the big setpiece quest that would have probably blown your socks off. It woulda been the perfect end of the gameplay video
To all MMO lovers: Give This Game A Try
You won't regret it.
#ad
yep. there's something about it, even without having taken part in the beta. i have never ever played an mmo ever and i'm almost 30. never understood what people saw and still see in stuff like wow. i kinda get it with games like diablo but even there, I couldn't gather enough interest myself to try it.
but this appeals to me a lot. i really really like the graphics. lots of parts have that evil and dark feel to it and I really like that. all that waifu-shit also seems to be quite toned down thankfully (wtf so many people like about it completely escapes me). what also is REALLY attractive to me is that they take casuals into consideration, which I certainly am.

@Lion King well pvp is normalized, cash shop items has no effect in pvp. As for Pve, you can pay to boast your characters level to gain access to higher level raids etc. Some claim this is pay2win, however i never get the idea of Pve being P2w.. but to each his own. The game will be free to play however so you don't have to spend a $ and will still have access to the same content the big spenders do. May take you a little longer but that's the trade-off. Also note that having the best gear and enchantments in pve isn't a guarantee to be successful in high level raids. Mechanics are still key.

the irony of a wallet sponsor for a Lost Ark video
Hey Peon, since you are in thailand right now and it's region locked. How are you playing this? VPN to NA server or playing on korean server?
i will play this the rest of my life, 8 years waiting
Don't. Korean MMO's aren't worth it. They're usually just P2W or grindy. It's worth spending a couple of months of your life, but that's it.
Will this game be available on console or is it strictly pc?
Obtaining a weapon with less recoil is already a heavy P2W aspect. It's like being able to buy a weapon with higher DPS in the game.
In lost ark you can buy all the gold you want with real money, it doesn't save huge amount of time imo as its mostly cosmetics and RNG for items
Would you call CoD p2w because you get xp boost and better weapons at the start?
P2Win

Is it going to be region locked? Considering you're currently residing in Thailand which is SEA region?
For me it's looks less like a top-down and more like a regular MMO with the camera zoomed all the way out. I think this was a way to save on texture resources and make the game lighter to run in a PC Bangs, but I haven't checked that out myself yet. It's pretty, and I can't fault the cheesecake design, but I'm not sure if this game is something I'll be interested in.

Have you tried Final Fantasy 11? I think you'd enjoy the story.

In a lot of ways, its "perfect MMO"
Combat is fun, satisfying, flashy and skillbased.
PVP is competetive, very deep, very skill expressive and and with equalized gear - fair, with quite good balancing
Endgame PVE is very hard, challenging and fun, with varied bosses, mechanics and its one of the only MMO which can do without holy trinity and still work!
There is lot of build diversity, easy respecs for trying new stuff, game is very alt friendly and there is lot to do at every point of game
Lot of life skills, exploration and housing for those who like to "live" in their game.
Unless they really fuck up monetization, this game should be doing really good.

They just immediately kills the interest for me,
I've been looking forward for this game for YEARS, and I'm really hoping that they won't go to the same P2W monetization route that most of the Asian MMOs typically go. Hell, I would even prefer to pay 60€ upfront if it meant that game would have no further monetization at all and all the content + cosmetics would be free and obtainable via gameplay.

Game director confirmed this.
u lost me at Amazing graphics HAHAH
nice was hoping itd be familiar to league so i wouldnt have too hard of a time adapting. tyty glhf
@@YogibearXXL have you even played the game
@@restinginn9906 Leave him, it's the kind of guy who is really picky about graphics. It's also the kind of guy who buys every single graphic card.
Some clowns don't even need a costume and makeup.
To this guy nice graphics are just how real to life a game looks.
I think graphical design goes beyond just looking realistic.
other than the fact Amazon is crappy when it comes to games I can't wait for this :D Also the fact we don't see half the screen filled with skill bars and skill bloat makes me even more excited about this game. Just hoping the pay 2 win is not that much of a problem or it's aimed for the PVP only.
Amazon didn't develop the game, they have zero to do with anything pertaining to the game or gameplay.
Is this out in the US iv been waiting for this game for like 10 years now is it on steam
"yeha I played till lvl25 so I can tell you if is worth playing" lol
Is there a way to turn off the white flash upon mobs taking damage? I find it somewhat straining on the eyes.
*Top down clicker, that's a hard pass for me.*
Same. I just like looking at my character at cultural angles.
@@JohnSmith-hv6ks your wishes can be fulfilled my man, you can zoom in on your character to… inspect. There’s also a photo modd
does this game has something like lfg to find people to do raids and dungeons ,stuff like these ?
"comparable to wow raiding"
Haha, the only difficulty in wow is finding competent ppl to play the game.
You're basically describing every multiplayer game ever
I just wish they had the sorcerer available for western release
its another korean cash grab
leave it to lazypeon to not do any research and advocate a P2W game...
