    Non-paid review. Purchased to use on a daily basis while working in the summer th-cam.com/users/postUgkxLaBdDhW8qNMDGbjLY54iyU3q9BJydYRP blowing into safety glasses so they don't fog up. Comfortable wearing around the neck. Not heavy at all nor does it slide around much. Easy to turn on and off. It's a solid construction with a slight flex in the middle. Doesn't feel cheap although the body is made of plastic. The battery currently runs over 8 hours on the low fan setting and takes USB C plugs to charge. Noise level is fairly mild and wind strength is good even in low setting. Only down side is if you wear contacts, it'll dry out your eyes since it's blowing up into your face. I flipped the vents down but this doesn't help de-fog safety goggles when I'm sweating. Definitely worth it over other fan types.

    You use those evaporative cooling products in somewhere like Florida, and you'd tear it off in 10-15 minutes because it would never evaporate, and it would just become hot and soggy. They're terrible in very humid environments. In 70-80% humidity, you walk outside and you're instantly sweating because of all the water in the air.

    • @Firsona
      @Firsona 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Same around here. I went outside the other day and the humidity was 100%...which I thought meant it had to be raining, but apparently not... X.x I wonder if you went with something that was more just the menthol and less the evaporation idea?

    • @jetjazz05
      @jetjazz05 4 ปีที่แล้ว +44

      I think Florida may be more brutal than the desert. Sweating does nothing but make you disgusting here, no evaporative cooling at all.

    The Ice vest works wonders. I did insulation removal for a summer. I was in an attic for up to 8 hours a day with breaks every hour. One attic I did was at an average temp of roughly 130 degrees Fahrenheit. The first week was without the ice vest and the following week was with the ice vest. It made a world of difference. If you work in hot and confined environments. I would def recommend a cooling vest. So worth the money. Also you can just make your own for half the price.

    Just an FYI, my wife has MS, and she has two cooling vests that she was given by one of the associations that are battling MS. They came with multiple gel ice packs, and in 95 degree plus heat it lasts about an hour before it gets to wet to wear comfortably. It is a godsend for people afflicted with that disease.
    So the vest giving you an hour of reasonable comfort isn’t bad.

      @@erickt1974 learning to feel texture of wet I mean the patterns, the feeling of it on clothes is heavier. put your hand in water and you can feel the difference in pressure and currents. feeling of water droplets is the pattern that it sits on your skin with the temperature change. ig we couldnt feel temperatures you could feel wet either

    Your 109 is our 87. When I was in Phoenix I felt what was normal hotness to me, but I could actually breathe...and everyone around me was bitching about triple digits. You want hot? Check out our 102 days with 93% humidity and you will beg for Arizona. Also the vest looks a lot like law enforcement. Between the looking like the law and looking like an armored active shooter? No thanks.

    I live in southern California and 101 deg. F inside a car on a summer day would be wonderful. Outside the norm. is 115 deg most days, and inside a car that has sat in the sun its -- much warmer! Most summer days I would be very thankful for 101 deg inside the car, except for A/C. I usually use my A/C on full blast until mid-November; usually by December it is cool enough to retire the cooling until late spring. There is about 2 weeks between A/C and turning on the heater. And that ice vest ............ in many parts of the country cops would think you are an active shooter and open fire on you; its a real toss up, better to melt/get heat stroke or to get shot outside Walmart?

    The neck plate is not good for a car. The way it works is there are 2 sides of it. When you apply electricity to it, one side gets hot, the other gets cold. They use a pretty good amount of power and they generate a lot of heat on the hot side. This is all assuming it is a peltier device. It will probably cut down the fan time significantly.

    I live on the gulf coast in Mississippi and on most days in the spring, summer, and at least half of fall it's at least 65% humidity outside. But in the summer it can get up to 100% humidity for days....in other words yes it would work but only certain weeks of a month (on average) like if there was some dry air aloft accompanied by a high pressure system. Also if it hasn't rained in a week or so; it's boggy af around here. We sweat here just taking out the trash lol, there's your evaporative cooling
    Edit- 7/17/20 at 8:50am CST it is 81% humidity outside. Lol.

    I've seen some true thermal imaging of a person during a moderate workout. (scientific exploration) Try cooling arm sleeves (the tight moisture-wicking fabric). One with water, and one with the cooling spray. Get crazy and use a thermometer under the arm sleeves and see which stays cooler, versus which 'feels' cooler. (preferably out of sunlight for the most part) You could also experiment with the muscle-shirts (tight white tank top) under a normal tee shirt. I can truthfully say menthol products do make you 'feel' cooler, but not sure if there's factual data to back it up. Even try a white head-wrap with the cooling spray versus water. The head is a large concentration of blood, and could really help. RIP to your eyes if the stuff gets in them, however. I can't imagine menthol in the eyes is pleasant.
