    I purchased the Comlife on Amazon on 7/7/24. Amazon offered a $30 off coupon. With tax the total was $105.49. I waited to test it under actual conditions on the following weekend. The Comlife was FANTASTIC!. I helped a friend at an outdoor market for two days, temperatures were in the upper 80s in the Upper Midwest and high humidity. With frequent breaks in the shade after heavy exertion and I could not have been more impressed for the price. After 2 hours on cool setting and low fan it was still at 66% power and it took less than 30 minutes to charge to 100% with a Milwaukee M18 Top Off power supply. I used it for 2 days and it was FANTASTIC for the price. The best part after getting back home I am ready to watch my favorite TH-cam Channel and Project Farm is testing neck fans. Talk about a perfect ending to a perfect weekend! Another product I purchased for the trip since we were camping onsite was the Dudiffy Portable Air Conditioner cooling fan CF6r6R. Please consider testing portable air conditioner fans. This would be a good time of the year. The price with tax was $42.19. Thanks for your hard work!

    I've tried out a few of these so called neck coolers. None of them worked in the summer outdoor heat. They are OK for exercising in indoor environments. The best neck cooler that worked for me in the outdoor summer heat was a silicone horseshoe shaped one that you fill up with water and freeze it. Take it out of the freezer, put it around your neck and it REALLY cools you off while working in the yard or taking a long walk. Only costs $30.00 too. Lasts for 2 hours and is AMAZING!

    • @kikixchannel
      @kikixchannel หลายเดือนก่อน +25

      That's the fault of a 'fan'. A fan can only cool you up to a certain temperature point. Past that, and the moving air is only going to bring fresh 'heat' to you.
      That's why some of these have a cooling pad which should work in higher heat, and depending on how it's built, also provide some cooler air for the fans themselves. Although obviously it wouldn't be a miracle worker.
      A silicone one with frozen water can be dangerous. Your neck absolutely should NOT be frosted. In fact, the temperature difference between your neck and the outside air shouldn't be too large to begin with, otherwise you may suffer from thermal shock. You may feel significantly cooler, but at some point you may start suffering pain, stiffness, dizziness and such.
      This effect can be so significant that some more sensitive people leaving shops with AC on too low of a setting into the scorching heat of the outside air may pass out.
      So, while I'm fully in agreement that a block of ice isolated from skin on your neck does help cooling you down, it needs to be used smartly. It's absolutely not something anyone can use without any consideration for anything.

      @@kikixchannel Seems like a little hyperbolic on that warning.
      AMZ or the usual have non-toxic gel pads that don't freeze solid and will conform to the neck/shoulder areas nicely and are worth the $20.
      Never heard or saw anyone dropping to the ground or staggering around like a drunk....
      If the freezing is too cold you could just store them in the cold fridge, or get maximum cooling/duration by slapping a thin piece of $1 store cloth on the underside where it rests on your neck to just prevent constant direct contact.

    • @billtinnell2206
      @billtinnell2206 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@TheYellowrose21Totally agree yellowrose! The towels with the ice pockets work very well compared to the super expensive neck coolers. All these neck coolers with a fan are a joke! They are ONLY good in indoor conditions due to health regulations. You MUST have some kind neck cooler that contains ice if you are in the outdoors! You can always buffer it with a scarf or thin towel if you find it too cold which should never happen. I absolutely love, love, love my neck cooler that you fill up with water and freeze it. Lasts 2 hours, costs $30.00 bucks and is a hell of a difference in summer outdoor conditions.

    This is a great video. My wife and I have 3 of the Scurry brand and 1 Arctic Air brand which looks similar to the Amacool you reviewed. The Scurry battery lasts a very long time but the fan blades get caught in hair often Arctic bat lasts less by maybe 30 mins but does not catch hair and has vents in the back for neck. These things really are useful. We have been hesitant to purchase more expensive brands. We both feel a lot more informed now. Thank you.

    I have last years model of the TORRAS, which as near as I can tell is completely the same as the one tested here. I enjoy it because it really does cool your neck, and it has vents that are meant to blow air down your back which was mentioned but not tested. Another big feature that the TORRAS has that none of the other do is that its also a neck warmer. When set to heat, it doesn’t use the fans and the pads warm up.
    I don’t have any issues being outside in very hot weather for the what would be its battery life, so I keep it tethered to a small battery pack in my pocket and so far that’s lasted for the 4-6 hours I’m outside for car shows and whatnot. It comes with a nice right angle charging cable for that purpose.
    Being fully honest, I’ll still get plenty hot and sweaty with it running full blast, but does its job of keeping me from overheating. Small fans blowing air on my face feels nice but won’t prevent overheating to any noticeable effect like the neck coolers with active cooling plates.

    I think it's worth mentioning that the Scurry style fans can be adjusted even more than ChillGo, directing air vectors to exactly where you want it to go including angles to avoid the eyes but still getting your cheeks or forehead. It can also be placed on a table. There are also versions with significantly more airspeed and runtime, e.g. HandFan 10000mAh

    I use my neck fan religiously for my daughter's swim meets because the pool observation areas are insanely hot and humid. I've been using a Jisulife for a few years now and have been happy with it, particularly because I can run it on medium and easily make it through the whole meet. They also seem to be quite durable. It's also quiet enough it doesn't interfere with conversation and it doesn't come through on the microphone when I'm serving as the announcer. One small criticism is that the placement of the button makes it pretty easy to accidentally push it in regular handling.
    That ChillGo looks super intriguing for the same price, but the noise and battery life would be cause for concern for me.

      Yes please! If you found a good one (quiet, doesn't have or develop noises, doesn't get slow to start=dead) I'd buy TWO tomorrow!
      Oscillating tower fans too, please!

    Here's another summer theme video you can do and a ton of people will appreciate. MOSQUITO TRAPS.
    Test small ones, commercial ones, diy ones and the different types of baits. and give us actual results. You can measure the mosquitos caught by weight. I'm tired of these Florida mosquitos and would love to know which trap works best. There's enough out there you could easily make it a mini series.

      No, first he's going to test cordless compact tire inflators (jk) actually, testing mosquito traps is a really good idea!!

    Oh no, you did not just give Cousin Eddie a moustache! Now we need to test beard and moustache trimmers!

    I bought two of the Chillgo based on Todd's tests . There are lots of people who mention Project Farm in the Amazon review sections that say PF was the reason for their purchase . Many saying that Todd was dead on accurate with his recommendations and they're very happy with the product . Keep up the Stellar work Todd 👍

    One of the major things to consider in buying a neck fan or neck fan/air conditioner is use in dry air or humid air environments. The fan alone works quite well in dry desert environments, but you will need the neck A/C for humid environments.
    If you try a neck fan (only) in a hot humid environment, you will only blow hot humid air to your face, hence why the A/C is needed. Also, the A/C will cool the major blood vessels going up and down from the neck. so sweating is reduced due to cooling is coming from inside the body.
    If you’re working out in the deep desert (far away from convenient power/charging abilities), definitely get a long running neck fan. Both A/C and/or neck fan systems can take a while to charge, so you’re going to want that to work throughout the daylight operation times.
