    I just saw this video, Alex. You and Carlos have amazing adventures tasting all those figs. You both have very impressive collections. I'd love to visit your fig gardens some time and get to meet you both. If you're ever in North Carolina, the welcome mat is always out for you and Carlos. Dos dias mas for the win! 😀 At your next fig tasting, you might want to have some insulin on hand. That's a lot of figs. I'd be in a sugar coma. 😀

    Do you get cuttings and root then grow them on, or do you buy young trees? How long do you give a particular tree until you decide to keep it in your collection or not?
    I will go back and rewatch this several more times, with a notebook with my ever growing WISH LIST.
    When you say a fig is from Pons, did you get it from his collection, or a cutting from someone here in the USA who already grows it?
    Your collection and these “ tasting” videos are a joy to watch for those of us who love figs. Many thanks.

      I get cuttings from members of forums like Ourfigs, or the fig groups on Facebook and gifts or trades with friends ,I'm more of a grafter than a rooter, when I chose a variety is because of recommendations and reviews from experienced growers. You can't buy anything from overseas all those varieties are here in the USA.You can join the fig group facebook.com/groups/884170299655879 and find us there!Thanks for watching the videos!

    I have an unknown yellow fig that was unbelievable when let go untill it got sugar spots and like jelly. It is squat fig, flat bottom and fairly large about 60 grams. The closest I could identify it by leaves fruit shape was LSU Gold. But I can’t be sure. It was sent to me as a VDB

    A total fig feast here, you have wonderful choice. How many potted figs do you have? And how often do you have to repot and root prune?
    I'm new subscriber so I may find these answers when I go through all your videos. Cheers

      Thanks! I like to keep my trees in 10 to 15 gallon pots no need to prune roots yet just 2 years in the hobby .I have't count the pots but have 380+ varieties most of them grafted as Frankenfig trees !

    Is it safe to grow figs in Home Depot or Lowe's buckets? Are they bpa free? Also, do birds get stuck on the net?

    • @FigCzar
      @FigCzar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't know about home depot pots ,the ones we use Pro Cal and Grow Pro are BPA free!Sometimes a bird can get stuck under the net but is very rare and it doesn't harm them and they still manage to eat the figs!
