Wow those are some really cool shirts you are wearing! BTW this Jeep is awesome.
Thanks man!!
If I were a betting man, I'd say the rusted floor pans and seat hardware was from leaky sunroof seals? For a true low budget resto, if you take that old fake wood panelling off the exterior, I think you'll find it looks a TON better. I actually like it without the panelling, when I did that to mine I magically started getting thumbs up/compliments from total strangers on the road. Cant remember where I found it but I used a combo of carb clean and a rubber decal remover bit on a dremel tool, combined with an old hair dryer [instead of a heat gun which was too hot] to get the decals off but save the paint underneath..
It's the wood that makes it cool!😊
As soon as I saw the Junkyard Digs episode and heard you are in Wisconsin that was an easy choice to subscribe!
Thanks! I appreciate it!
The headlight and dimmer switches are GM parts common to the mid to late 80s while the window switches and motors are Ford parts.
Jeep Just Everyone Else's Parts 😂😂😂 it's all good
I was gonna say the same thing they look exactly like the ones off my mid 80's buick and early 90's S-10s
I seen you from junkyard Digs on his channel buying the new car so I said might as well subscribe and watch the full video because it's pretty cool watching them
Love these old wagoneers and what you are achieving with this one. Didn't know they used Ford and GM parts on the same vehicle! Can't wait for the next episode.
Can't wait to see you drive the rotary Mazda home! Just started watching Kevin's video. I see a lot more subscribers in your near future, including me. Merry Christmas, brother. 🍻
@@daymoncleveland0622 thanks! I appreciate it!
@BuildSeason of course man.
4:20 Just a note, the correct instrument panel dimmer switch P/N for an 86-91 Grand Wagoneer is Standard DS-423. It has the correct black wheel with rounded off edges like the stock one. It's the same exact part as found in 85-95 Chevy Astrovans and first gen Chevy S10 pickup/blazer
Im in the process of redoing my late Uncles 88 Grand Wagoneer i inherited. Thank you for making a video on all the small stuff!! I haven't found anybody who made videos on these on fixing things like window regulators and stuff so you're a savior! We couldn't get my 360 running good enough even with a full carb rebuild, those Motorcraft carburetors are garbage. We fully rebuild a GM Rochester 2G carburetor and we swapped it onto my 360. Fires up EVERY time with zero issues. My brother and I are still working on the full tune up video and making it run flawlessly, but MAN was the 2G carb swap so freakin smart. The problem is when these Jeeps backfire which they do a lot, they destroy the Motorcraft carb. That doesn't happen with the 2G. I HIGHLY recommend the swap. You can check out my Wagoneer video on my channel for what parts you need. Love the Grand Wagoneer stuff! Keep it going
Thanks for the advice, I'm going to have to look into that carb swap.
@ I might be the only person on the planet that swapped one on their GW, so it's a little bit of finesse but if I figured it out I'm sure you could easily
Glad you got to this rig before the prior owner let it waste away any further!
Awesome cheap fix man. Nice. Love the bucket seats too 😅
Bucket seat did me 😂😂😂
Big big Dorito fan over here 😂
It,s great when you KNOW you,ve found what,s wrong.ha.Thumbs up and thanks.
Thanks for watching!
22:42 If you can make sure you clean out the window track with some air and then like a trim tool with a rag soaked in something to clean out the track in the past I’ve used silicone spray
Love how the jeep is a hodge podge of ford GM dodge and amc parts.
Pre-internet, I figured out how to get those plastic window tracks replaced without having to tear the whole door apart. Mine would last about a year and break but the plastic tracks were cheap [back in the 90's] and I got to where I could replace them in about 15 minutes! LOL wish I could remember how!
After watching the rotary ute revival i had to subscribe that was fecking awesome mate
That's why I'm here. Kevin is gonna bring this fella a lot of new subscribers, including me. Merry christmas mate 🍻
okay I dont know if you already did or someone already commented, but if your ac isnt blowing as hard, there could be mouse nests or something in the blower motor duct area. I found so much stuff when I vacuumed mine in my 83 f100. I just stuck a long vacuum inside when I took out the blower and went crazy
Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely check that out!
Awesome man! Very motivating and helpful to me working on and troubleshooting my 1987 Wagoneer! Not a lot of new video content out there for old Wagoneers. Most of the content is from years ago. Thanks! I’ll be following!
23:30 Make sure you put the center caps in the rear wheels before you put them back on
Yea!!! New build season episode !!!’ Thank you for taking us along on the journey
Thanks for watching!
Steve, I love your enthusiasm as you get successes. Keep up your tricks. You are fun and a smart dude
I appreciate it, glad you like it!
This is awesome steve! I’ve always loved wagoneers!
I’m glad you like it!
Finally got back to the heap of a jeep project, well I fully get why you chose that day to do it as I'm in Wisconsin as well and dreading what we are having coming. Glad to see you get it running right as I love these old wagons.
The exhaust has a good throaty sound
Nice work! These old Jeeps can be reliable daily cruisers and it looks like you're getting it done quickly. Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the Christmas wishes and thanks for watching!
loving this series brother keep it up
Loving the fsj content! Subbed
Heck yeah, Let's go!
Before you fix the floors replace the body to frame bushings. If the nuts that hold the bushing screws have broken free you will need cut through your floor boards to weld them.
Thanks for the tip!
Heck yeah...let's go!
Hey Steve, love your stuff. I'm collecting my 1968 Wagoneer this january. Could your share the link to the power probe? Never seen it. Like it. Want it 😬. Really appreciate your detailed explanations. Even the efforts that didn't work. Great stuff. Thanks a million. Greets from Holland 👍
It’s in the description now as well! www.amazon.com/dp/B00G4YUWMC?ref=emc_b_5_mob_t
Awesome
Do they make replacement floor pans at all for them?
Yes. Check out Classic 2 Current Fabrication or BJ’s off-road.
If you’re looking for some more fun/ content I have a boat that’s been sitting since 2016 and may be up your alley! Located in Wi like you!
Is that a mk2 ford cortina outside your shop?
Yes it is!
Jeep Mouseketeer
I hate that they make the access holes in doors so small and hard to work with.
I just subscribed to your channel I saw u on JYD with Kevin he’s cool but I’m gonna say it now please have some BLACK PEOPLE in your videos bro don’t be like Derek Bieri and NEVER HAVE A BLACK PERSON I mean we know cars also feel me?
Dude he may not even know any black people, especially that far north in Wisconsin since only 6% of the people that live in the entirety of Wisconsin are black
