Just purchased the B12 bilstein/eibach kit from Autodoc, hoping to fit them over Xmas to my MK2 Leon R, hoping it improves handling even more over its decent standard 🤞🏻 great vid mate 👍🏻
My best sub £200 modification was a 3 inch exhaust system. Smashed the precat out of the down pipe = free. Add a sports cat and no silencers in the system. That price even includes the price of a £50 eBay welder. it helps that I was a welder for 20 years but easy to learn to use a flux core welder. 2.0 tfsi, sounds crazy. Lowering is next on the to do list. Great video
I've just bought H&R's for my 55 plate 2.0T and 12mm spacers front and rear👍 as for best cheap mods, I had my exhaust 'centre box' (also called resonator I think?) taken out and replaced with some steel pipe costing £75 at a custom exhaust shop. The difference in sound is perfect, loud enough when you're going for it but doesn't drone much on the motorway etc and fairly quiet when driving normally.
Hi mat, so pleased I came across this video, been thinking of lowering my a3 s line sportback definitely going to do it now I've seen your videos, cheers mate
Hi Mati, I love your videos! As a new A3 8P 1.8tfsi owner I have been looking for mods and your videos have really helped guide and inform me. I have just ordered some H&R lowering springs from ECP for my car based on your review of the Eibachs (didn't want to wait for them from AutoDoc) so hope they are as good :) Looking at anti roll bars, remap, exhaust, and brakes next in order to do a few track days plus visual mods like the honeycomb grill.
Also just to point out the sportsback fitted with quattro tends to sag over time so essentially I raised my back end but it works out to be far more balanced
Getting mine done hopefully before December, takes it from 168hp all the way to 230 with no supporting mods required, however with what you’ve already done it will compliment it perfectly!
Nope, potentially get a new back box but that’s it mate, not worth messing about with dpf in this day and age, I’ve got the Quattro variant of your one with CFBG engine, just manual instead of dsg, I would love to keep her running for the next 10 years if that’s possible, puts a smile on my face every time I drive!
Hi Mati, just bought an A3 and looking to mod it, and the first thing I’ll be doing is getting a honeycomb grill and lowering it. My question is how much room should you allow for speed bumps when considering lowering?
I got the bilstein b12 kit so bilstein dampers eibach Pro springs. Took off the s line so didn't drop too much but deffo handles soo much better. At a push still get body roll though so arb's incoming but deffo a good mod matty. Nice update
@@matimcfetridge far more responsive and the mid corner stability is far superior than that of the s line shocks and springs bud. I'd advise the b14 kit though as you get the adjusters to fine tweek the ride height.
@@Nick-Emery fair enough, I’ve had a look at Revo and crikey £730 for stage 1?! Truthfully I’m a die hard Celtic/eco tuning fan due to the fact they specialise in diesel tuning, my argument to Revo is that they are an international company, with all the costs and overheads of such a company meaning you have to pay a hell of a lot more for a very similar product. Celtic tuning may not be perfect but I have had plenty of work done through them namely 1.9’s and they have never ever let me down, that and they cost about £300 for a stage 1 tune. Oh and give a years guarantee on workmanship. if it goes pants post Map they will do what they can to fix, which in fact they did in my old golf that had a stuck EGR valve (not their fault) and when it got to 2200rpm dumped all the boost in one go… 😂
@@Feltfx I think revo was charging those kind of prices a few years ago, on the website now it is 299 for a stage 1 and around the same to have your s-tronic box mapped to over ride like the gear changes etc, which I don't think is necessary... I'll second this however I'm in speed bump city so even with my kit I still get that but I'd say 80%less when driving on normal roads tho it's night and day difference Oh and mines a face lift 8p spine also
i bought neuspeed performance springs & bilstien b8 shocks…. didn’t install yet… also having buyers remorse thinking i could’ve got coilovers instead. but i’ve been looking at reviews or pics with neuspeed springs & can’t find any….everyone either goes h&r or eibach
It's because normally audis are owned by people who usually keep things higher end aftermarket such as bilstein and eibach. I've found out on my other vag cars buy cheap buy twice
have a A3 8P quattro s-line with 3.2... im hoping to be able to lower 50m or 2inches. im kinda broke right now so ive been looking for budget coilovers. raceland, and a couple others around 5-600$ .. im sure its not the best idea, however my style points will be much more in line .. besides the obvious smashing or high centering, are there issues i should know about as far as creating problems throughout?
Was wondering the same , i have a Sportback front lowered but rear standard s line . I Want to lower the rear also but the previous owner Said that the rear is lower then the front i i lower them? Thats why he changed back to original . What you think i should do?
WAIT!!! Before you scroll down to read more comments.... drop one yourself! What suspension are you running yourself and how do you think it rides??

I agree I've just fitted apex -30mm springs on my wifes A3 sportback 1.9 tdi the handling is fantastic now and still comfy

ended up with lowered springs on the front and oem on the back?

stock standard A3 springs are like ... riding a rally car over bad roads
What about your camber? Was it affected much?
How is your tire wear doing?
Cant wait!! just got the Audi A3 8P 5 doors though! its coming this weekend cant wait!
Nice enjoy it buddy

Mati get her remapped by Celtic tuning or Darkside developments, you won’t believe the difference!
very tempted by a remap recently but literally don't have the money!

Hey Matt! How long did the springs take to arrive? And they seem more expensive now unfortunately
They took a week or so! Yeah seems everything on autodoc has suffered a price increase recently
I want the sportline kit on my a3 sport!
Definitely worth it 👍🏼
Does the standard A3 and the A3 sport back share the same shocks? would these fit a standard A3?
I have a feeling they are different springs for 3 and 5 door mate, someone may correct me if I'm wrong!

My kit was 55 on the front and 45 on the back so that it sat equall overall, I would say the front is a tad lower overall so definitely recommend!
My kit raised the rear about 15mm but it's a far more balanced ride
Hello Matt what spring kit did you get I got a3 s line sport back
Eibach Sportline mate
Thanks mate 👍🏻
