I do believe that parts of UK are racist, but that is unfortunately in every country. I spend 18 months in UK and as a person of color were treated most of the time with warmth and acceptance. There were one instance of racism, but I chose not to dwell on it as the positive outweigh the negative and I find the British people quite accepting.

Can I just ask if queen Camilla were to have a lady in waiting who is of colour...how would this help the current issue as she may be accused of reverting back to the days of slavery...it saddens me sometimes that all white people are considered privileged. My ancestors too were in service....and have suffered hunger, and severe hardship!
Please let us embrace each other as "the human race" and we might get somewhere...

I'm sorry I disagree with some of what the people on the panel say. It is possibly true some things could be modernized over time, but MM truly showed she didn't care in the least to follow simple Royal protocol....simple things but she didn't want to. I think MM knew what she was getting into, and she played her cards. They pulled the race and mental health card when she couldn't get the monarchy to bow to her every woke, whiny demands. I actually think Tom Bauer and other authors who happen to be male are right. Let's not make this about sex now too and say that a male writer cannot exercise freedom of speech like a female author without branding them as masogonist. I think Piers, Tom Bauer and Valentine Low are right and they have close enough connections and Tom Bauer documented their statements with footnotes. I don't think the monarchy is racist. MM began to show her true colors, which is why the tide turned. I believe MM always planned to leave the monarchy. Tom Bauer says that H. planned to possibly leave since prior to the wedding. Why did MM only invite her black mom, but no siblings or friends? I don't think this was about structural racism.

I had to stop watching this segment because it's so ridiculous how these two women think they're such experts. And not once did they acknowledge the good the royal family has done for their country! What I have gathered with most blacks who support the horrendous acts of Harry and Meghan is that they always tie it down to racism or colonialism... and the black girl talking about wealth distribution in Africa doesn't she know that's going to replenish the pocket of just "a few". I wish my brothers and sisters will get behind the victimhood mentality, speak when there is genuine inequality, and racism and not support someone blindly only because they share a skin colour- It's almost like Racism is synonymous with being black nowadays. The world is already divided enough and to start sowing hatred of race in the younger generation isn't going to help. I think it's a shame to solely blame the Western world for problems in Africa. Would the Western world be blamed for tribal discord, killings, and corruption in Africa too?

"Why so much vitriol' the guest asks. Because Meghan blamed & continues to blames everyone bit herself for people not liking her. She thought she was walking into a celebrity role. She didn't get that royalty is not celebrity. She walked in & after 5 minutes wanted to change how it's all done. That's called disrespect & lack of humility. She also didn't get that she should take her place in the hierarchy. She's the kind of person who wants to be the centre of attention. She couldn't handle that she couldn't act & do what she wanted. Tessa on the panel presents zero facts to back her opinion. Meghan filled the church on her wedding day with celebrities, with one family member of hers there. Meghans decision. And a clue as to what her gameplan was - to use the royal family as a stepping stone to global fame & monetize it in the U.S. I think money isn't her only goal, I think fame & attention mean more to her. It's clear from all her actions she wants to be Diana no.2.

I do not blame Harry one bit for calling out all these people and media biases against them and coming against what they did to his mother.

Britain and all its colonised nations are sovereign nations in their own rights now with the freedom to stay or leave the Common wealth which is a voluntary organisation of equal nations. I am a proud Brit and love Britain and all its values, customs, traditions and culture including our Royal Family, and I am not the only way, countless people feel the same, people who actually grew up in a former colonies. I can never understand people who grew up in this country enjoying all that it got to offer and still want to dismantle its proud customs and history - why such hatred. It’s beyond my comprehension!

13:58 the guest says to Tessa that she does not know what it is like to experience racism in day to day life: fair point BUT Meghan did not identify as black, or even biracial, until Harry. That is evidenced on her CV for her application for “Suits”, in which she has ‘Caucasian’ down for her ethnicity. Even people from her earlier days say they did not know. So fair point but in this case, probably not relevant.

I am aware, I was talking about when public opinion really started to turn.
I thonk inhave a good sense of their reasons. No one really knows the truth though as the RF haven't had a chance to give their POV.
Regardless their reasons were many it seemed and frankly it felt like they wanted star billing, one foot in and out so the best of all worlds.
I can sympathize with how they must have felt because royal life is constraining on many fronts. Obviously there are nuances in-between but there was no racism in my opinion, if so where was it?
If they were really interested in staying they would have waited until M really knew the job and then she and Harry could have gone to Charles with ideas. But the truth is they wanted out from early on and that's fine. I do have a sneaky suspicion that they thought the RF, the Queen wld cave and give them what they wanted... Just a suspicion nothing concrete to base it on.
btw what Harry forgot in the series was that yes, their Aus and SA tour was successful BUT so was William and Catherine's who had baby George with tbem. So no nose was out of joint, H&M weren't doing it better or outshining anyone, nor wld the RF have cared about M being on the front cover for Remembrance Day - Catherine was on the previous years.
Its a bit bizarre that Harry keeps linking Diana with Meghan. And I think he was doing the same with the Aus tour. He was projecting jealousy in William and Catheine as if they were Charles who had been overtaken by his wife's popularity...its just a bit odd is all. But maybe there will be a deeper understanding when H's book comes out.

Given the history of Great Britain, I am sure there is racism in the Royal family and in England. What I am not sure about is why Meghan Markle went into it given her own political activism. So, to me, it looks like she has an agenda from the beginning. I agree with Ms. Okafor's characterization of Britain as a depraved country when it comes to wanting to dominate the rest. She shares that ambition with her sister nation and depending on the circumstances, enemy France. Both countries managed, breaking the law, to put military and dynastic dictatorship in Togo, as it is called now. The fact that the regime has been killing its citizen for about 60 years had not deterred Great Britain from welcoming Togo and its leaders into the Commonwealth. Talk about depravity?!
