Sounds like Fallon knows he is really talking to William Campbell Shears, AKA Billy Shears, and making a sly joke about him doing a good impersonation of McCartney. It’s so obvious when you just look at the pix of PM through 1966, and the incoming BS from 1967. Right in plain sight. That said, BS is an amazing musician in his own right. It would just be great if he quit the charade....

The Smiths, Joy Division, Deep Purple, Steppenwolf, King Crimson, Kraftwerk, Captain Beefheart and Pixies not in the Hall of Fame, but Ringo is? Sure, he has some good solo stuff, but how the hell is he more deserving than those?
(EDIT: For all the people who are angry at me, Ringo's being inducted into a SPECIAL category similar to sidemen which honours contributions to the work of others, so basically he's inducted for his work on Plastic Ono Band etc., NOT his solo career and I don't have a problem with that, I'd only doubt his place in the hall for his solo work (as mentioned before).
That means the Hall of Fame did NOT induct him for his solo career which also means you can stop writing upset replies telling me that he deserves to be in because he's a Beatle - which doesn't make sense since he was already honoured for that - or that I'm a hater who doesn't appreciate the Beatles (not true) or Ringo's drumming (not true either.).

I totally agree with what your saying otherwise (and would like to add Yes, The Moody Blues, Warren Zevon, Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, Dire Straits, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and many more I'm sure), but he's being inducted as a sideman which is different to being inducted as an artist. He's probably one of, if not the most influential drummers in modern times.
