@beehive41 "Hull Times, 2nd of March, 1889. As day after day passes and no tidings arrive of the missing Grimsby smacks, it is beginning to be realized that the gale of the 9th will prove one of the most disastrous to the Grimsby fishing trade on record. All together nearly a dozen fishing vessels carrying between 60 and 70 hands are missing." There doesn't seem to be a book about the disaster, though it might be worth getting in contact wit Grimsby Library.
A very fine song written by a local chap here in Grimsby. Ya voice is fine, though not keen on ya backing music....makes it really cheesy and takes away the feel. Yes I come from a fishing family here in Grimsby. I'd like to hear ya sing without the cheesy backing tape. Fancy my mandolin onboard Cap'n?
I was lucky to grow up in the showband era. Johnny is one of the greatest ever.

I love this song. But isnt Yarmouth south of Scarborough? Great Yarmouth i presume?
Throwing a lot of shapes here, is Johnny. Thought his head might fall off.
It should be ‘From Yarmouth up to Scarborough.’ Obviously geography wasn’t the song writers strong point.

I take it that this is a true story. Is there a book on this tragedy?
he looks like johnny cash a touch
Why is it called three score and 10 when it's about many 100s?
The 3 score and 10 refers to those lost from Grimsby
