    What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and it is a term that categorises the pleasant (non-sexual) feeling of 'goosebumps' or 'chills' that some can feel when they are being triggered by an external stimuli such as whispering, personal attention or certain sounds.

My favourite version of the Florin is the 1911-1919 King George V Florin, it had a silver content of 92.5% before in 1920 when they were debased by the mint to just 50% silver and in 1947 they removed the silver entirely for cupronickel

Thrupny bit. Just a ridiculously British thing to say. I feel like the most British thing a Brit can do in the universe is talk about old money.
Either that or saying the word "forecastle." Not only is that word the world's most British word, but it's pronounced in typical British fashion by slushing all the syllables together. Foxle. Incredible!

It makes me look at our pennies (U.S.) with more respect after the history you gave of the British penny. I once owned a half-penny from 1874 until I lost it moving house :( 1874!! There was also a silver threepence (thrupenny bit). Smaller than the sixpence and certainly, in my lifetime anyway, a lot rarer ... although still legal tender until the rest of pre-decimal currency was withdrawn. I can remember spending them when I was a kid and shopkeepers commenting that 'You don't see many of these anymore'.

I once had an Irish waitress joke that me and a friend of mine were "queer as a nine-bob noushe." Once we figured out that she meant "note," we figured it was the equivalent of a 3-dollar bill. Which is to say, not a minted denomination.

VinnyDaQ She's showing the coins that were still in use in the twentieth century; I believe the guinea coin was withdrawn in the early nineteenth century. However, prices in some professions continued to be listed in guineas. It was basically used as a symbol of upper-class activity, such as the bill you'd have to pay for tailored clothing, or the prize you might win as the owner in a horse race.
