I'm sure you already know this, but Canada has plastic money as well. It also smells like maple and when you shine a laser pointer through a particular spot, it projects the value on to a surface that you are pointing it at. Canada is pretty wild.
It seems like when you look up "Canadian Money" on youtube there are some videos. Steve Mould has a couple, one with the laser pointer thing, and one where he tries to disprove the maple syrup smell thing (I haven't got a chance to watch this one all the way through, so I don't know what the result was)

It's a completely ridiculous mindset. I was once asked when paying for a £25 round of drinks "if I had anything smaller". It's not exactly like I'm going to clear out the change with it. Morons.
I've been an avid listener of the whispering community since around 2009, when I first started college, and it helped immeasurably in reducing stress and anxiety in the midst of so much work and studying. It's incredible to see the evolution and sheer size explosion that the ASMR community has gone through over the last decade. Even with all of this growth, I've always maintained a particular affinity for whispering videos. With that said, this is among my favorite whispering videos of all time. Thank you for your contribution to the world. :)

The amount of green and red across the spectrum, along with dark background actually makes the video seem to be in 3D. Especially if you are already relaxing with your mind recapturing the image. In the USA, when you pay with a $50 or a $100, we have pens that the cashiers use to quickly draw a line on the money, if it stays invisible, it's fine, if it shows up, then it's counterfeit. Easy and simple and fast, too.

I remember working in retail, whenever a Scottish person would hand me a Scottish note I used to take a moment and have a good look at it. They ALWAYS got so annoyed and said things like "Yes. You accept these." it amused me waaay too much haha
Why do you Scots need your own money. I had to change some of your Scottish money at the bank down here in Devon no shop would take them. Made me feel like I printed them off myself. They don't need to accept Scottish funny money.

For some inexplicable reason, when you started soft speaking at 33:06, my tingle meter spiked to brain-breaking levels. I might have even lost time and woken up in a new city, unaware of how I got there. This is how strong the ASMR was from your soft speaking. I was enjoying your whisper as I always do, but I really can't explain why your sudden voice made it better. But it did!
At the end of the video you mentioned that you are a history geek, well, here's a rad historical fact for you: when i was one years old i could fit both my fists in my mouth at the same time.
The most commonly forged note is actually £20. Shops don't like taking them because they see so few of them, it's hard for them to be able to tell if it's forged or not. I find this so lovely and relaxing.. big money geek thanks to working in a bank. Love it 😍
Very odd that it's hard to find a 50 pound note. In the United States, you can simply withdraw a 50 dollar bill from your bank, provided that you speak to a banker and don't use the machine. I must be missing something?
The US bills with a face value of 500 or higher were removed from circulation after 1969, in accordance with the "war on drugs", to make it harder for drug dealers to move money around. 1 million dollars in 1000 dollar bills is much easier to conceal than the same amount in 100 dollar bills.
You can in the UK, but people rarely need it as the pound is worth more, and as it is so rare it is likely that if you carry it it might be nicked (stolen). Also it's quite big to fit in your pocket.

An idea to float with you, I know you get a lot of them, but how about British Pub Names? I know it sounds a bit stuffy, but when you scratch the surface it's actually quite interesting to understand what the things in a pubs name relate to, e.g. The Lamb = Jesus, The Oak = some tree the King hid inside from the roundheads, the Black Horse = Dick Turpins horse Black Bess. etc, etc.

I live in Canada, and the money here is made in the city of Ottawa. There's a museum that you can visit: they show you how they make the money and you can see where it's printed :)
You know. I like how i think that the new £5 £10 £20 notes are better then the current £50. Because all i just look at on the british current banknotes is the holigrafic strip on the front of each note, but the £50. It just has a skinny holographic pink strip on it. Lol
£50 notes are used regularly, and most shops take very little notice nowadays, and in reality is the least likely to get forged, because its the most checked 👍

In my opinion, the only problem with cocaine residue being on your money at the airport would be if a UK Drug Dog hit on the scent.
