Not if your 12volt keeps dying in the cold or you loose 40% of your range pluss queues at the charging stations and high charging cost?
Not everyone can charge at home. My garage has to old el-network so i cant charge my Q4 there. My old A4 TD avant stalled once in cold weather (had it for 10 years)
I saw an TH-camr starting his Kia e Niro 64 KWh in the freaking -35 °C !!!
Every ICE car and their feul will be frozen and died anyway! Sjittttttt.....
Not amusing, but it is true.... Maybe it was a car that never properly bin services at.... Every ICE has a though life below -15 °C.....

That XC40 looks like a good car for you and the family ... and Google Maps with Charging Finder is excellent. But the Soul is a good car too

I purchased my first EV... the brother of FRANKENSHTEIN.... a 2015 nissan leaf with some pretty decent battery degradation, about 110k miles 8 bars battery remaining. (Range 45/65 miles)
I really want to upgrade to a newer leaf. maybe 2020.... but after watching lots of videos and doing a bit more research.. I'm thinking the Chevy Bolt is the better buy?
2020 Leafs & Bolts are around the same price used in my area so I figure for what I get with the Bolt it's a better value... (bigger capacity, liquid cooled battery) (I live in Florida)
If anyone has made it this far and has an opinion.. let me know what you think! 👍
Bolt is good, Ioniq classic is the King for a certain budget.
Or the Kia Soul....
I loved my 2nd gen Leaf, but where I am Chademo is disappearing fast getting another one after it was totalled just wouldn't have been worth it. I'd unfortunately avoid it due to that issue if there is something else in the same price class that is good enough in all the other areas, it really is a shame though cuz the leaf is so good otherwise.
Stay away from cars with Chademo, it's gonna disappear from the european charging landscape because the EU mandated Type2/CCS on all new cars (new models, not facelifts) sold after 2016 I believe.
@@ndc5544p since he is talking about a Chevy Bolt, he’s most likely in the US since the Bolt isn't sold under that name here. The European model is Opel Ampera-E.

It's a nice second car, for short trips and you must have in mind of the big degradation at least 30% of max capacity.

@@bjornnyland Sorry to hear that. We have to use winter tires here in Czech republic (by law) and we don't even have snow most of the winter.

all cars are just unreliable and need maintenance and ev cars with current battery technology become trash the moment the battery dies. I hope that one day this will change.

IMO this leaf is for a battery overhaul or scrapping..
Not worth overhaul, really. It does fine as a city or short commute car.
