    Very nice video, professional. A car that needs to be on your list: I've test-driven one and it really drives great. I am getting one when I need to change my car in a year or 2 and hopefully they will have fixed a few of the small things, like the stereo, bluetooth Carplay, maybe fog lamps, etc. Well done, sir! 🙂

    Excellent review as always - the ZS has always represented excellent value for money and this new model just improves the prospect even further - I think MG will do really well with this new model.
    You know I love my Duster’s - I think I would still opt for a Duster as I like it’s rugged simplicity more, but the ZS is definitely serious competition for all of the small budget SUVs.
    Love the red doc martens too - keeping coordinated as usual!! Slightly disappointed the wasp didn’t make an appearance (IYKYK) but I bet you were quite pleased 😂😂🫶🏻🫶🏻
    I always thought that tyre brand was pronounced more like Coo-mows rather than Come-hos…. No idea which is right - just stick to Michelin’s or Continental’s it’s safer lol 😂😂❤

      I agree great value and I’ve already seen a fair few on the roads, so it’s proving to be popular. I do like the rugged look of the Duster, but was never a fan until the current version.
      I did think a wasp would make an appearance for this MG review, but strangely not 🤔😅
      Only ever heard them be called come-hos to be fair, wouldn’t choose them myself… a Michelin, Conti or a Bridgestone would be preferred 👍🏻

    An excellent review covering pretty much all bases so well done.This car is built to a price & represents amazing value for money.Sadly you appear to have forgotten that this is a Budget priced car & if all the extra equipment you would like adding from your wish list then it wouldn’t fit into the Budget category anymore and the list price would rise massively making it a lot less competitive. I’ve recently bought the actual model as tested here and I’m extremely happy with it as it didn’t break the bank.

    An excellent in-depth review. I like the way you point out the car's short-comings as well as it's good points. Good too that you give us the real-world mpg figures which are helpful.
    I've looked at this car myself recently as I'm in the market for a new replacement vehicle and definitely like the exterior design; it looks particularly striking in the metallic blue and red. The interior is also attractive and feels luxurious especially considering how little it costs. However, I was disappointed there's no reach adjustment for the steering wheel especially in this day and age. What were MG thinking?
    Also the lack of sun roof which was a feature of the previous model is another disappointment. Why does the UK market always get a raw deal compared to other parts of the world?

      Thank you! I agree, I wasn’t sold on the exterior design on first impression, but it really grew on me and I think it’s a stylish looking car 👌🏻
      I managed to find a comfortable position with the steering wheel, but it is strange they didn’t put a reach adjustment in, all of these tweaks add up though & it is a budget option. I’m not too sure why we don’t get things like the sunroof in the UK, again it is probably due to cost and to get that highlighted figure of the low starting price.

    Hi. An interesting and informative review. Just one clarification please. At around 16:30, you talk about the stereo system, and you go on to say that “graphic equaliser”
    Would it be possible for you explain how/where you managed to find the settings to do this?

      Part of my text appears to have disappeared. It concern the video from 16:30 to 16:50. Where you say “even adjusting eq trying to putting the base up etcetera, didn’t help at all”.
      Please could you explain what you did to adjust the base?

    Petite précision : Couple (Nm à tr/min) : 128 à 4 500 + 250 (électrique) ,ce qui donne un total de 378 Nm (déjà considérable), et non pas 465 Nm… Je roule avec ce véhicule en France : globalement excellente voiture!

      J’ai commandé la mienne il y a 1mois . Les phares sont-ils efficaces de nuit? Est-ce qu’il y a des pertes de puissance ?

      @ J’ai la version Standard à la base déjà fort bien pourvue, avec notamment un régulateur adaptatif très pratique et efficace. J’ai peu roulé la nuit (je l’ai depuis le 20 décembre) , l’éclairage des phares est pour moi satisfaisant . J’habite une région vallonnée (côtes et descentes nombreuses) et n’ai constaté jusqu’alors aucune perte de puissance. Je n’ai pas encore emprunté l’autoroute. En mode Normal, en respectant les limitations de vitesse, la moyenne de consommation est encore dessous est entre 4,5 et 5 L /100 (pour 197 cv de puissance!), ce qui est très peu par rapport à mon ancienne C3 Aircross (110 cv) qui avoisinait les 7 L /100. Ce véhicule est très agréable à conduire. N’en déplaise aux antichinois, force est de constater que le rapport qualité-prix est imbattable. Seuls les témoignages d’usagers sont dignes de foi. Vous ne serez pas déçu. Les constructeurs européens ont du souci à se faire en vendant leurs produits équivalents deux fois plus cher, sans compter tous les problèmes de fiabilité (courroies baignant dans l’huile, airbags Takata parfois meurtriers, logiciels trichant sur les émissions … J’en passe: la liste serait trop longue.) Rien de tel que la concurrence pour favoriser le pouvoir d’achat des consommateurs que nous sommes.

      @ c’était soit base car l’offre est juste dingue soit luxury pour avoir tout dedans et rester sous les 30000€ ce qui reste assez fou comparé aux autres marques. Votre avis sur les marques européennes je le partage depuis l’essai de cette auto,on est monté dedans on s’est regardé « ah qd même !! » et puis on roule et franchement le système hybride est top ,et ça marche plustôt bien (pour une auto familiale et non sportive) . L’esthétique me rebutait au départ puis en la voyant en vrai c’est maintenant l’inverse je suis assez fan. L’auto va faire un carton,c’est impossible de trouver mieux ou même équivalent.

    there have been reports from Australian reviewers that the software of this car is malfunctional.
    In details, sometimes it leaves the battery depleted and therefore, makes the car suddenly in petrol - only mode which is extremely weak and not safety.
    MG has said that they will fix in software update but that make me wondering how things are fixed and will it still be efficient as current version.

      It is a big improvement definitely! The HS does feel higher quality, but of course it is a larger vehicle 👍🏻

    Frontera and c3 will will have a cambelt' if its the 1.2 its a wet belt with reliability issues. MG is a timing chain.

    Oddly enough, the new MG3 - with identical battery and motor - is being hammered in reviews because its 1.7Kwh battery is woefully inadequate and makes the car completely undriveable after just a couple of rapid accelerations.
    MG (in Thailand) have just released a, ahem, 'fix' for the ZS Hybrid to try and stem the deluge of complaints regarding the same issue.
    A real fix would involve ripping out the useless EV battery, and installing one with at least twice the capacity.

      Beaucoup de critiques antichinoises la plupart du temps infondées … En fait, cette batterie est déjà deux fois plus puissante que celles de la concurrence … Je suppose que cette situation se produit éventuellement dans une utilisation extrême et inhabituelle.

    It seems that the Chinese manufacturer forgot to put a light for rear passengers, your glove box won't have a light either, there is no fog light, well it doesn't matter. It really is very powerful, but what happens when the battery runs out in mountain passes and the thermal engine proves insufficient? MG is updating, good for MG. Do the parts arrive soon? Is there a good after-sales service? What price do the reviews have? MG is a great company, it must take care of certain aspects, and it will be an unbeatable company.😅😊

I think other Chinese brands are doing it better, taking care of the details and providing better customer service. Byd,Omoda, Jaecoo etc. are doing well, listening to the customer, improving the products. I repeat, MG is a great SAIC company, and I am sure it will be positioned among the top global brands, but it must take care of the small details. Chinese brands are very powerful, with very good quality in electric batteries. I hope you understand thank you

Je suis certain que MG va encore s’améliorer dans les détails : c’est ce que chaque constructeur devrait faire… J’espère que nos constructeurs européens vont réagir à cette redoutable nouvelle concurrence qui est bénéfique pour tous… Sans animosité aucune.

And I'm glad this happy You have understood that MG (Saic) also has competition in its own country, Byd and other brands come with good after-sales service, improving the wait for repairs, and with cheaper revisions than MG. ZS Hybrid has the capacity to improve, they surely will. MG can position itself as a reference brand in the world, but it must take care of what I have already mentioned, I don't want to repeat myself. Kind regards

Comme quoi on trouve toujours un terrain d’entente entre gens « intelligents »… J’ai été client pendant 45 ans chez Peugeot, et surtout chez Citroën … Dégoûté par beaucoup de soucis rencontrés ces dernières années, je me suis tourné vers ce modèle dont l’essai m’a bluffé, ainsi que le tarif…
