I'm going to offend the purists but the Bruce Falcouner soundtrack is the best for DBZ. In fact, it's even better than the boring Japanese opera style soundtrack.
I would argue his theme his main reason why DBZ blew up in the US causing it to be the phenomenon it is throughout the East leading to other animes doing the same. A lot of western audiences would’ve found it corny and slow if it wasn’t for the change of pace and action accurate score he provided

I consider this to be the unofficial Super Saiyan 2 Theme. This theme usually played during times when a saiyan either ascended past the first super saiyan form or when they became a Super Saiyan 2 basically.

This is definitely more of a SSJ2 power up theme simply because it represents ascending to the next level with so much emotion and anger, that u start developing that darker and more primal presence as a Saiyan. SSJ2 represents the vibe of being “fed up with other people’s bullshit. SSJ3 is more of a struggle to reach that final goal, not through trauma or fed up with other peoples bad behavior.

The Trunks/Androids/Cell saga had one thing that many of the other arcs distinctly lacked. Character development. Especially for Vegeta--one of the show's most interesting characters. It was the best saga DBZ ever had. Everything after that just felt silly. I know it was where Toriyama intended to end the series--and its a perfect place to do so. Trunks was a fascinating character--because unlike every other person in DBZ--he is the only one who has spent his entire life being so powerful--and still getting a beatdown at every turn. It taught him humility, strategy and brutality. He had Goku's compassion and Vegeta's killer instinct. If Trunks had trained with Goku--he could have achieved what Gohan did. I firmly believe that because I think, deep down--Trunks enjoyed the thrill of combat--but he could never nurture that because the cyborgs were so stupid-powerful. I just started to think that Gohan and Vegeta are alike in how they typically (not always, but typically) fight with their heads. While Trunks and Goku fight with their hearts. The more I thought about it, the more sense it made.

The Trunks/Androids/Cell saga had one thing that many of the other arcs distinctly lacked.
Character development.
Especially for Vegeta--one of the show's most interesting characters. It was the best saga DBZ ever had. Everything after that just felt silly. I know it was where Toriyama intended to end the series--and its a perfect place to do so. Trunks was a fascinating character--because unlike every other person in DBZ--he is the only one who has spent his entire life being so powerful--and still getting a beatdown at every turn. It taught him humility, strategy and brutality. He had Goku's compassion and Vegeta's killer instinct.
If Trunks had trained with Goku--he could have achieved what Gohan did. I firmly believe that because I think, deep down--Trunks enjoyed the thrill of combat--but he could never nurture that because the cyborgs were so stupid-powerful. I just started to think that Gohan and Vegeta are alike in how they typically (not always, but typically) fight with their heads. While Trunks and Goku fight with their hearts. The more I thought about it, the more sense it made.
I love how the first 40 seconds has a mysterious feel to it.
