*I know I am probably late writing this but I can confidently say that many people who don’t understand the meaning behind this theme are probably going to judge you for listening to an anime theme while working out. For them this sounds like instrumentals and there are no words in sight. But, for us it differs because even though we don’t hear any words, this still speaks to us in ways that can’t be perfectly explained unless you were there in the 90s watching it for the first time. Just like Gohan, we all have deep potential within us that has been buried away by our negativity or restraint from standing up for ourselves because we don’t want to do no harm. Whatever it may be that you are going through, we can all be like Gohan, sometimes you just have to fk it and LET IT GO*

I would never make fun of someone using this to inspire them in a workout, the literal context of knowing what its meant to tell as a story is everything that is weight lifting is about. Pushing oneself to being better. Pushing to surpass limits and grow as literal and spiritual.
I listen to this theme everytime when I feel like giving up on a set in the gym lifting weights, only us DBZ fans will truly understand the power of this theme

As kids/teens, we weren't over-thinking or over-analyzing shows/media for things like character writing, pacing, consistency, writing, creativity, emotions, comedic writing, originality, heart, soul, mean-spiritedness, drama, story-driveness, rhyme-or-reason, etc., we were just "in the moment" and blindly enjoying ourselves, ya know?
Yep exactly, just wished it stayed all the way to now because people nowadays don't enjoy the show once the show doesn't meet their expectations.
That has to do with age and the fact you didn't had easy access to things. Today you can rewatch something over and over and see what you didn't see before.
I think those things being there was a part of why you were so "in the moment". You just couldn't articulate it.

Gohan turning SSJ2 is my all-time favorite DBZ moment.
Such a kind-hearted kid who didn't want to hurt anyone, but he saw that there was no other way to achieve justice but to give into his anger.
He finally found the strength that was inside him all along.

It's not just about powerups and transformations, it's the character story and struggles that lead them to those epic moments. It took a long time to reach this point, it was raw emotional event that gives something for adults as well as youngsters.
These things were lacking in later in the series and especially in Super. Some of them were epic in a way, but they always came too fast, felt unearned and poorly executed.
But in Gohan's case, everything matched and these moment will go down as one of the most epic things in anime history.
Let's hope for more professional and people who invest in the series and characters long term to provide equally amazing moments in the future.
That's because Toriyama was setting up for Goku to stay dead permanently and Gohan take over as main character. But people were simps for Goku and Gohan ended up getting the back burner. The one that never gets used, the one the decorative teakettle sits on (that also never gets used)

If Gohan ever unlocks something that’s somehow beyond his Ultimate Potential, I want this exact version to play. It’s a masterpiece.
mystic form uses all of his bodies latent powers. he can't exceed it, he can however improve his base power.
If I recall correctly, Old Kai said that the way he released Gohan's power was just a patch job, something to release enough to give him the power to beat Buu. So Gohan's potential may not have been fully realized yet.
@@peytonmac1131 As Gohan grows, his potential grows, too. The Potential Unleashed form becomes stronger, the more latent potential he develops over time. That's why it can equal SSB Goku Pre-TOP. However, it would be even higher if he'd never stopped training in the first place.

The fact that Gohan was never even expected to become the main character of Cell saga is the biggest and most enjoyable plot twist in dbz. Like Trunks lost his master Gohan to the androids then even being more powerful than Gohan in his normal state and then he saw him become a Super Saiyan 2, to eradicate Cell and to protect his loved ones.
Like who expected this? Everyone probably expected Trunks or Goku to beat Cell but that plot twist was the greatest of all time.

I believe most of us love gohan at this time because he reminded us of ourselves. When this first aired we were around his age and we could relate to his power and emotional imbalance. Now, as we have seen him grow into an adult, we see how we ourselves have changed, and how we miss those powerful and emotionally impacting moments of our youth. At least that’s my hypothesis :p
