    I created a subtask that is Low in priority in my ToDo column but now when I try to move that sub-task from the bottom to the top of that ToDo column that sub-task is not moving, why?

    Having an issue editing sub-tasks due to customer request type having greyed out options. I saw a solution to create a new sub-task screen but it doesn't really make any sense.

    I installed the Microsoft to-do app in Jira and seem to have lost the ability to make sub-tasks. Is this the reason I can't make sub-tasks?

    How do you create a subtask with the custom type created before: Risk?

    Our JIRA board has filter query which fetches cards only based upon the fixVersion but the subtask we create cannot be assigned any fixVersion as it already associated to a story with a fixVersion but on the JIRA board since sub-task doesn't have a fixVersion it doesn't show up on the JIRA Board is there any solution for this apart from removing the fixVersion from the filter query?

    Hi i have a question
    My action trigger is when the task story is transitioned from panel A to B, but if you keep moving it back and forth from A and B, the sub tasks continue to regenerate. So my goal is to create these subtasks on the first attempt and that is it. What condition should i add while doing automation and how

      That is a great question. Not sure that this is possible. But let me look into it.

    Hi tanks for the video. I have some doubts. We have in JIRA how to story points estimate, be automaticlly summed by subtasks point estimates? We have how to configure the burndown report to consider points of subtask done?

    • @ApetechTechTutorials
      @ApetechTechTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't do that. Sub tasks wont show up on the burndown. Only Story/Task/Bug

    I am on a Kanban Board and I am not able to move subtasks into "in progress" unless I assign an epic to it. However, the field to assign an epic on the subtask does not exist to begin with. Do you know why that is?

    • @ApetechTechTutorials
      @ApetechTechTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you'll need to go to your board settings -> Swimlanes. Currently, they are configured for epics. Set it to either Story or None.

      @@ApetechTechTutorials Thanks. I tried setting it board settings to None or Story but the same issue occurs, unable to move subtasks into "in progress". Message that shows up is "Transition failed, please link this task to an epic in order to move to In Progress", yet when I add a field for Epic in the subtask, the field does not appear. Tried to reach out to Jira but they are not responsive so far.

      @@henintsoarakotoarisaona7274 This tells me it could be one of 2 things. You have a required field in your workflow but your admin didn't add the field to the screen of the subtask. The other thing, the "in progress" status for your subtask isn't mapped to a column in your board settings. Feel free to schedule 15 minutes with me via a link in my bio if you want some quick help.

    Do you ever use checklists instead of subtasks?

    • @ApetechTechTutorials
      @ApetechTechTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've used a checklist plugin, but not the built in checklist form type available in Jira.

    i don't have this option, i have Child issues insted of subtask

    • @ApetechTechTutorials
      @ApetechTechTutorials  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The UI may have changed recently. Atlassian is getting ready to make a pretty big change to how issues are linked together, so child issue = subtask in this case.

    • @MrJoker-ze6bb
      @MrJoker-ze6bb ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ApetechTechTutorials ok but child issue are not showing in the board separately. every time i need to click on the main task to view list of child issue

    • @SomeUniqueHandle
      @SomeUniqueHandle ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrJoker-ze6bb On my board, I set the "Group by" option to Subtask and now all the tasks show by default. (I don't know if this makes a difference but my board was "Software Development: Scrum: Use Template: Team Managed".)

    This is pure hell. You can create subtask with clickup in 1 sec.

      Yeah, subtasks are a little interesting in Jira .. . Maybe let Atlassian know?
